सीधा जवाब: YouTube पर FFmpeg से प्रकाशित RTMP स्ट्रीम के लिए HTTP वाले FFmpeg reconnect विकल्पों को भरोसेमंद reconnect switch न मानें। पहले Live Control Room से सही stream URL और key की पुष्टि करें; फिर FFmpeg के process और logs की निगरानी करने वाला बाहरी supervisor रखें, और YouTube में preview व stream health जाँचें। इससे process बंद होने पर उसे फिर शुरू किया जा सकता है, लेकिन गलत key, कमजोर upload connection या YouTube की समस्या अपने-आप ठीक नहीं होती।
पहले समझें: reconnect किस चीज़ का है?
24/7 प्रसारण में रुकावट अलग-अलग परतों पर हो सकती है। FFmpeg process बंद हो सकता है, input फ़ाइल या स्रोत अटक सकता है, RTMP output का कनेक्शन टूट सकता है, या इंटरनेट uplink उपलब्ध bitrate नहीं दे पा सकता है। इन सबका समाधान एक ही flag या restart से नहीं होता।
- Process exit: FFmpeg बंद हो गया है। बाहरी supervisor इसे फिर चला सकता है।
- Output या credentials: FFmpeg चल रहा है लेकिन YouTube ingest स्वीकार नहीं कर रहा—URL, key, encoder output और log error देखें।
- Network: uplink रुक-रुक कर चल रहा है या उपलब्ध upload capacity कम है। Restart loop इसे ठीक नहीं करेगा।
- YouTube stream health: encoder preview और Live Control Room के health संदेश देखें; process running होना इस बात का प्रमाण नहीं कि दर्शक तक स्वस्थ stream पहुँच रही है।
FFmpeg Project की protocol documentation में reconnect, reconnect_at_eof और reconnect_streamed HTTP विकल्पों के अंतर्गत हैं; RTMP अलग protocol के रूप में दर्ज है। इसलिए HTTP input के लिए बने विकल्पों को RTMP publishing output के सार्वभौमिक reconnect समाधान की तरह पेश नहीं करना चाहिए। FFmpeg Protocols Documentation
YouTube URL और stream key की पुष्टि करें
- YouTube Studio में Live Control Room खोलें और encoder setup में दिखाया गया stream URL तथा stream key लें। YouTube के encoder setup में दोनों की ज़रूरत होती है। Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder
- अपने FFmpeg output destination को Live Control Room के URL से मिलाएँ। यदि stream key reset हुई है या बदल दी गई है, तो encoder configuration में नई key डालें। Key को command examples, screenshots या सार्वजनिक logs में कभी न दिखाएँ। Manage live stream settings
- जाँचें कि FFmpeg उसी scheduled या ongoing live stream के लिए configured है जिसे आप Live Control Room में देख रहे हैं। URL या key की गलती को बार-बार restart करने से ठीक नहीं किया जा सकता।
YouTube RTMP के साथ RTMPS भी बताता है और RTMPS को सुरक्षित विकल्प के रूप में सुझाता है। अपने encoder और चुने हुए endpoint के अनुरूप configuration चुनें। Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions

FFmpeg process और logs देखकर restart की सही परत चुनें
- Process state देखें: तय करें कि FFmpeg चल रहा है, exit हो चुका है या connect करने में लगातार विफल हो रहा है। Log में output protocol और error पर ध्यान दें; केवल यह देखना कि process मौजूद है, पर्याप्त नहीं।
- यदि process exit हुआ है: operating system या deployment के बाहरी supervisor से उसे फिर launch कराएँ। यह process recovery है, network या credentials का इलाज नहीं।
- यदि process जीवित है पर stream नहीं पहुँच रही: FFmpeg output error, URL/key, network और YouTube health जाँचें। अपने deployment के अनुसार output को रोककर पुनः launch करना पड़ सकता है; इसे HTTP-only reconnect flags से सुनिश्चित नहीं किया जा सकता।
- Restart व्यवहार को नियंत्रित करें: supervisor में restart policy और logs/alerts रखें ताकि बार-बार विफल होने वाला process बिना निदान के अनंत तेज़ loop में न चलता रहे। Restart delay और configuration आपके OS, supervisor और failure pattern पर निर्भर हैं; कोई एक सार्वभौमिक मान यहाँ लागू नहीं होता।
किसी एक reconnect command को सभी FFmpeg builds, operating systems और input/output संयोजनों के लिए सही नहीं माना जा सकता। विकल्प protocol-scoped हैं और उनका स्थान व उपलब्धता build के अनुसार बदल सकते हैं। खास तौर पर input टूटने और RTMP publishing output टूटने को अलग-अलग diagnose करें। FFmpeg Project की protocol documentation
Upload क्षमता और stream settings जाँचें
Uplink में पर्याप्त headroom रखें
YouTube कहता है कि outbound connection configured stream bitrate भेजने के लिए पर्याप्त होना चाहिए और कुल primary तथा backup bitrate के ऊपर 20% अतिरिक्त outbound bandwidth headroom रखने की सलाह देता है। यह YouTube Help की मौजूदा, undated guidance है, 2026 में देखी गई। घर या कार्यालय में दूसरे devices की traffic और connectivity disruptions भी feed तोड़ सकते हैं। Ethernet से encoder computer को router से जोड़ना एक संभव सुधार है, गारंटी नहीं—यह कम ISP upload capacity, power/router failure या YouTube ingest समस्या नहीं सुलझाता। Streaming tips

Encoder के मान और health जाँचें
YouTube की encoder guidance में H.264, H.265/HEVC और AV1 का उल्लेख है; वह CBR और 2-second keyframe interval सुझाती है तथा keyframe interval 4 seconds से अधिक न रखने को कहती है। Bitrate codec, resolution और frame rate के अनुसार बदलती है—ऐसा rate चुनें जिसे आपका वास्तविक outbound connection लगातार वहन कर सके, न कि केवल peak speed test में छू सके। YouTube encoder settings
- Live Control Room में encoder preview आने की प्रतीक्षा करें और stream-health संदेश पढ़ें।
- Cartoon feed के वास्तविक motion और audio जैसे representative सामग्री से परीक्षण करें; स्थिर चित्र वाला test वास्तविक encoding और uplink load नहीं दिखाएगा।
- यदि स्थानीय recording भी बनाते हैं, तो YouTube की सलाह के अनुसार जाँचें कि archive file बढ़ रही है। यह YouTube पर दर्शक-पक्ष की निरंतरता का विकल्प नहीं है।
Backup encoder और 24/7 प्रसारण की सीमाएँ पहले परखें
YouTube backup-encoder failover जाँचने के लिए primary encoder रोकने या उसका Ethernet cable निकालने और फिर यह देखने की सलाह देता है कि player backup पर जाता है या नहीं। यह backup encoder की failover जाँच है—इस बात का प्रमाण नहीं कि एक अकेला FFmpeg process स्वयं reconnect करेगा। अपनी production व्यवस्था पर निर्भर रहने से पहले यह परीक्षण करें और Live Control Room में नतीजा देखें। YouTube live streaming tips
