Yes. The community ico-pc project maintained by nathanialf turns decompiled PlayStation 2 code from ICO into a native Android app. It is playable, but it is not a Sony release, and the APK does not contain the game. You must provide a disc image made from one of the seven specifically supported ICO discs. The documented baseline is a 64-bit Android phone or tablet running Android 10 or later; a Vulkan 1.2-capable graphics stack is also reported as necessary. The project listed version 0.9.3 on October 27, 2026, so release details and device compatibility can change quickly.
What is the ICO Android port?
ico-pc is an unofficial native port of ICO’s own game code, produced from a decompilation of the PS2 version. It is a fan project, not an Android storefront product or an authorized Sony conversion. The project’s README states that it is not connected to Sony Interactive Entertainment or Team Ico.
The Android build packages the port’s executable code, not ICO’s copyrighted assets. As the README puts it, “The game itself is not included here or in the downloads.” You therefore need your own legally obtained, supported disc image. The port copies the required files from that image during first launch and normally does not ask for the image again.

What do I need to run ICO on Android?
- A 64-bit Android phone or tablet running Android 10 or newer, matching the project’s documented baseline.
- A graphics driver supporting Vulkan 1.2, according to the setup report from Overclocked.
- The Android APK from the project’s release downloads. Choose the file whose name ends in
-android.apk. - A disc image created from one of the supported ICO releases.
- Free storage for the initial extraction. Overclocked reports roughly 1.2 GB during first setup (about the size of the image) and about 1 GB afterward; those are practical report-specific figures, not a vendor benchmark.
Android hardware beyond those minimums may still differ in speed or graphics-driver behavior. The project README cautions that Android can be slower than the PC build, and no controlled frame-rate table is published.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Which ICO disc images are supported?
The repository’s current compatibility list names seven images. Other editions are not supported, so matching the identifier matters more than simply having an ICO file.
| Region or release | Disc identifier | Internal name |
|---|---|---|
| Europe | SCES-50760 | Ico_PAL |
| Japan | SCPS-11003 | Ico_JPN |
| Korea | SCPS-56001 | Ico_KOR |
| North America | SCUS-97113 | Ico_USA |
| Asia | SCPS-55001 | Ico_CN |
| August 2001 preview disc | — | Ico_AUG6 |
| June 2001 magazine demo | SCUS-97158 | Ico_JUN26 |
Regional behavior remains part of the port. Text, button prompts and some video behavior can follow the selected release. An older setup report listed only three images and said the American release failed at that stage; the newer seven-disc repository list supersedes that early information.
How do I install and start ICO on an Android phone?
- Check the device. Confirm 64-bit Android 10 or later and Vulkan 1.2 support. Update the phone’s system software and graphics driver where the manufacturer provides updates.
- Obtain your source disc image. Use a dump of a supported disc that you own or are otherwise entitled to use. The APK cannot supply this data.
- Install the APK. Download the release ending in
-android.apk, allow Android’s install-from-unknown-sources permission for the app or file manager when prompted, and complete installation. - Launch ICO. On first start, the app opens Android’s file picker. Select the supported disc image.
- Wait for extraction. The program copies game files into local storage. A first launch can take several minutes while graphics resources are prepared; avoid force-closing it during that process.
- Play and configure. After extraction, the game should run from the copied files. Keep the original image available in case you clear the app’s data or need to repeat setup.
What controls and visual options does the port provide?
Touch controls are available, and Android-compatible physical controllers are supported. A controller is optional but generally offers the more console-like way to handle ICO’s movement and camera.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
The port aims to preserve the PS2 game while adding optional presentation controls. Depending on the release, you can enable sharper rendering, widescreen output and smoother motion. These enhancements are off by default. The frame rate is not locked to the PS2 behavior unless you select the Original option, so changing that setting alters the game’s timing and presentation rather than merely its resolution.
How is this different from emulating ICO?
| Consideration | Native Android port | Conventional PS2 emulator |
|---|---|---|
| Game data | Still requires a user-made image of a supported ICO disc. | Requires a disc image and the emulator’s normal PS2 firmware/BIOS setup. |
| Installation | Sideload one APK, then select the image once for extraction. | Install the emulator, configure firmware and graphics, then add the game image. |
| Device baseline | 64-bit Android 10+; Vulkan 1.2 is reported as required. | Varies by emulator and game; no equivalent figure is established here. |
| Controls | Touch input and physical-controller support. | Usually touch mapping and controller support, depending on the emulator. |
| Presentation | Native-port options include sharper rendering, widescreen and smoother motion. | Enhancements depend on the emulator’s renderer and per-game settings. |
| Regional behavior | Uses the selected disc’s region, text, prompts and video behavior. | Also follows the image, with additional emulator compatibility variables. |
The native route avoids a separate emulator and BIOS configuration, but it is tied to the port’s supported disc list and its evolving Android build. Emulation can be a fallback for an edition the port does not recognize, though it brings its own setup and performance variables.
What can go wrong during setup?
The app rejects the image
Verify the disc identifier against the seven-entry list rather than relying on a filename. An otherwise genuine ICO edition can fail if it is not one of the releases the port recognizes.

Installation is blocked
Android may require a one-time permission for the browser or file manager that opened the APK. Enable that permission only for the installer you trust, then retry and disable it afterward if you do not need sideloading.

Extraction and shader preparation can take several minutes and require temporary storage. Keep the phone awake, ensure the reported storage headroom is available, and wait before treating the process as failed.
Graphics glitches or poor speed
Check Vulkan support and update the device software. Android performance is not guaranteed to match the PC build, and the project does not publish a universal benchmark; compatibility can vary by phone and driver.

The game disappeared after clearing data
Clearing the app’s data removes the copied assets. Launch it again and select the supported disc image so the extraction can be repeated.
Is the ICO Android port safe and legal to use?
The project is independent of Sony and Team Ico, and the APK does not grant rights to ICO’s game data. Use an image made from a disc you lawfully own or otherwise have permission to use, and obtain the APK from the project’s genuine release page rather than an unofficial repack. Copyright and format-shifting rules differ by country, so local law determines what copying and use are permitted.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I install the ICO Android APK without owning a PS2 disc?
The app may install, but it cannot become a playable game without a compatible disc image. The project distributes code and expects the user to provide the game data; whether making or using an image is lawful depends on your jurisdiction and rights to the disc.
Does the port support ICO save files from a PS2 memory card?
The available project documentation describes extracting game files from a disc image but does not establish a PS2 memory-card import workflow. Treat existing console saves as unsupported unless a newer release documents a conversion method.
Will an Android tablet work as well as a phone?
Tablets are included in the project’s documented Android target, provided they are 64-bit, run Android 10 or later and meet the graphics requirements. Screen size alone does not predict compatibility; the Vulkan driver and device-specific performance still matter.
Can I use the European and North American releases interchangeably?
Both SCES-50760 (Europe) and SCUS-97113 (North America) are on the current supported list, but they remain separate regional images. Their text, button prompts and video behavior can differ, so select the image matching the version you intend to play.
