How Premium viewing can contribute to a 24/7 stream’s earnings
YouTube’s explanation is based on watch time from Premium members, not a published fixed payment for each view. The guidance does not say how country-level subscription prices, taxes, or regional pools affect an individual creator’s share. It therefore does not support claiming that an Indian Premium view is worth a specific amount—or that it earns more or less than a view from another country.
Live-streaming videos can earn Watch Page Premium revenue. To earn Premium revenue from long-form or live-streaming Watch Page content, a creator must accept YouTube’s Watch Page Monetization Module. Normal monetization eligibility and terms still apply; being live continuously does not bypass them.
YouTube’s Premium guidance also says background playback counts toward watch time. Downloaded playback is counted when the Premium member next signs in online. As a result, real-time concurrent viewers need not be the only watch time represented in reporting.

Does running continuously increase Premium revenue?
A 24/7 schedule creates more opportunities for people to watch, but time on air is not itself YouTube’s stated Premium payout measure. A stream that runs longer is not automatically paid more: the published explanation points to how much Premium members watch, and YouTube does not publish a special allocation formula for continuous streams.
For your own channel, review the YouTube Studio revenue report where available. YouTube says downloadable reports can show watch time and earnings by video. Compare the stream’s reported figures over a clearly defined period; the public guidance does not provide a calculator that converts Indian views into a guaranteed payout. See YouTube’s Premium help.

Keep Premium revenue separate from other live-stream income

What YouTube has announced for 2027
As of October 3, 2026, YouTube has announced future terms effective February 1, 2027: a creator pool representing 30% of net subscription revenue for Premium views, and a pool representing 60% of net subscription revenue for Premium Lite. These are pool shares, not guaranteed rates per view or per creator, and they do not establish an India-specific formula. YouTube says creators should accept updated terms by January 31, 2027 to continue fully monetizing. Details are in YouTube’s Partner Program changes announcement.
How to interpret your channel’s results
- Confirm the stream is eligible for Watch Page monetization. Check the applicable monetization terms in YouTube Studio and confirm that you have accepted the Watch Page Monetization Module.
- Choose a reporting period. Use a consistent date range rather than comparing a full month with a partial week.
- Review the stream’s video-level watch time and earnings. Use YouTube Studio’s available revenue reports; YouTube says downloadable reports can break these down by video.
- Keep revenue categories distinct. Do not treat Premium subscription revenue, ad revenue, and fan-funding receipts as interchangeable. Live ad slots may not serve.
- Avoid dividing earnings by Indian views to claim a fixed rate. The public guidance does not provide the country-level formula needed to interpret that result as an India-specific Premium rate.
