Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →If YouTube says a phone number has already verified the maximum number of channels, use a different eligible phone number. YouTube’s stated limit is no more than two channels per phone number per year, and its help guidance does not provide an immediate reset or a way to reuse that number for another verification after the limit is reached. If the problem is a missing code rather than a limit error, try the voice-call option or check carrier support instead.
What to do when YouTube says the limit is reached
Use a different eligible phone number. YouTube says it limits each phone number to two associated channels per year to help prevent abuse. It does not document a way to bypass the cap or a universal date when the number becomes available again. YouTube’s phone verification help says a different number is required after the limit is reached.
This is different from a verification code that is delayed or never arrives. First identify which problem you have: the limit message calls for another number; a delivery problem may be resolved by waiting, using a voice call, or checking whether the carrier supports Google messages and calls.
Verify the channel with a different number
- Open the verification page. On desktop, sign in to YouTube Studio and go to Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility → Intermediate features → Verify phone number. On mobile, use m.youtube.com/verify.
- Choose the delivery method. Select text message or voice call, according to the options shown for your account and region.
- Enter the eligible phone number. If YouTube reports that the number has already reached its channel limit, stop retrying with that number and enter a different one.
- Enter the six-digit code. Type the code YouTube sends or reads to you to complete verification.
For a channel that is not a Brand Account, only its owner can complete phone verification. For a Brand Account, the owner and managers can verify it. YouTube’s available steps and eligibility are described in its feature access guidance.

Choose the right fix for the error
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| YouTube says the maximum number of accounts or channels has been reached | Use a different eligible phone number. The documented limit is two channels per number per year; YouTube does not specify a universal reset wait. |
| The code has not arrived yet | Wait a few minutes. If available, request a voice call instead of another SMS. |
| Neither a text nor a call arrives | Check that the number is entered correctly and that the carrier supports Google verification messages or calls. Try a different supported carrier or number if needed. |
| Phone verification succeeded, but advanced features remain unavailable | Check Feature eligibility in Studio for the channel-history or ID/video verification path offered to your account. |
YouTube’s verification troubleshooting page notes that some carriers or regions may not support Google’s text or voice messages. The supported answer to a reached number limit is a different number, not repeatedly retrying or changing devices.
What phone verification unlocks—and what it does not
Phone verification grants access to intermediate features such as custom thumbnails, live streaming, uploads longer than 15 minutes, and copyright-claim appeals. Check YouTube Studio → Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility to see the status of the specific channel. Completing phone verification does not guarantee access to every YouTube feature because some features have separate requirements. YouTube’s feature eligibility guidance explains the distinction.

Advanced features require another eligibility step
Phone verification is the first step for advanced features, not a substitute for their remaining requirements. After it, YouTube may allow an eligible creator to build sufficient channel history or complete ID or video verification. ID and video verification are not offered to every creator. Eligibility depends on channel activity and Google Account history; policy violations can delay or remove access. Studio shows the path available to the channel. Check YouTube’s current advanced-feature guidance for account-specific options.
Avoid unsupported workarounds
Do not rely on public SMS inboxes, rented verification numbers, clearing cookies, switching devices, or repeated attempts as ways to get around YouTube’s limit. YouTube’s official guidance does not recommend those methods. A prepaid SIM or another carrier may provide a different number, but YouTube does not endorse a particular SIM, guarantee that a newly acquired number is eligible, or guarantee that its carrier can deliver verification messages or calls.

Troubleshooting if verification is still blocked
- Confirm the exact error. A reached-limit message requires another number; a delayed code may be a delivery issue.
- Check the number and carrier. Make sure the number is entered correctly and can receive Google verification texts or calls. If not, use another supported number or carrier.
- Check channel-specific eligibility. In YouTube Studio, open Settings → Channel → Feature eligibility and review the status and any account notices or restrictions.
- Do not assume an annual reset date. YouTube states the per-year cap but does not establish a universal wait time or reset date for a number that has reached it.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you are setting up a channel for continuous prerecorded-video streams, phone verification is still a separate YouTube requirement; StreamNeo does not bypass it. StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or create a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. Every slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it also includes 24/7 looping and playlists, 10 GB of pooled storage per slot, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. See StreamNeo or start your free first day.
