Html2Pdf.app can turn a publicly reachable webpage or supplied HTML into a PDF. For an invoice in a merchant account, use the merchant’s own download or print option instead: the documented Html2Pdf.app workflow does not establish that it can sign in to accounts or retrieve pages behind authentication. After conversion, inspect the PDF before treating it as a complete record.
Choose the right way to save the record

Prefer the merchant’s original PDF when available. It is the most direct way to keep the record as the merchant supplied it. A third-party converter is useful only when the input is accessible and appropriate to send to that service.
Convert a public invoice or receipt with the online converter
- Check for a merchant-provided file first. Open the order or billing record and look for Download PDF, Export, or Print.
- Confirm the page is publicly reachable. The documented service supports a public URL or raw HTML. A private account URL that requires your login is not an established supported input.
- Enter the URL in Html2Pdf.app’s online converter. The vendor describes its converter as an interactive demo that can be used without an API key.
- Preview the result, then download the PDF. Check that the merchant name, date, invoice or receipt number, line items, taxes, total, and any other required information are present and legible.
- Name and store the file deliberately. A filename such as
merchant-invoice-number-date.pdfmakes it easier to find later. Save it in the records location you normally use.
Automate a conversion with the API
For automated conversions, the documented endpoint is POST https://api.html2pdf.app/v1/generate. It accepts a JSON request containing a publicly reachable URL or raw HTML in the html field, and authenticates with an X-API-Key header. Create an API key through your account, then keep it in a trusted backend or job runner—not browser JavaScript, a public repository, or client-side application code.

Make the PDF readable and complete
Html2Pdf.app documents a headless Chromium renderer. A PDF can differ from the page you see in a browser because rendering depends on CSS media mode, available fonts and other page resources, and when JavaScript finishes loading.
- Wait for page content: use the documented
waitForsetting when a page needs extra time; its stated range is 0 to 10 seconds. - Select media: choose
screenorprintmedia depending on which styling presents the record correctly. - Set page layout: the documented options include page size, margins, orientation, scale, and header/footer settings. Adjust them if totals or line items fall across page breaks.
- Check external resources: missing fonts, images, or styles can change appearance. Inspect the rendered output rather than assuming the webpage’s appearance was preserved.
- Verify the record fields: check the merchant, date, reference number, individual charges, taxes, and total at a readable zoom.
These are documented rendering controls and editorial checks, not a guarantee that every site will render identically or that a generated PDF will satisfy a specific tax, accounting, or legal recordkeeping requirement.

Protect account and payment information
Invoices and receipts may include names, addresses, transaction details, or account information. Before submitting anything to a third-party conversion service, decide whether that content is appropriate to disclose and review the service’s current privacy and data-processing terms.
Html2Pdf.app states that generated PDFs are processed temporarily and are not permanently stored on its servers. Its documentation also says raw HTML or text submitted in html is not stored in conversion logs, while selected request metadata and source URLs may be retained. Those are the vendor’s stated practices, not a blanket guarantee about every aspect of data handling. Its documentation points to its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement for further details; the URLs for those pages are not specified here.

The pricing page says each 5 MB chunk of a generated PDF costs one credit, and credits reset on the first day of each month. Since paid-plan allowances are not given here, check the live page for the precise limits that apply to your account.

For a public URL or HTML you are authorized to submit, Html2Pdf.app can generate a PDF; inspect its contents and legibility before filing it. Treat the source’s sensitivity and the service’s stated data practices as part of that decision.
