Yes—Google Antigravity can help with research, writing, and other knowledge work, not just software development. Google’s documentation describes research and report generation in Antigravity IDE, while Antigravity 2.0 is a separate desktop command center with web search, file operations, Chrome interaction, external tools, and reviewable artifacts. Treat its output as a draft: check sources, inspect edits, and give specific feedback before relying on or sharing the result.

Can I use Google Antigravity without coding?

Yes. Antigravity is an agent-first workspace: you describe a task, the agent works through it, and you review the resulting plan, files, or other artifacts. Google’s Antigravity IDE overview explicitly includes conducting research and generating reports among tasks its agents can support.

There are two product surfaces to distinguish. Antigravity IDE is a development environment that brings together an editor, terminal, and browser. Antigravity 2.0 is documented as a standalone desktop command center for agents handling knowledge work as well as coding. Features described for one surface should not automatically be assumed to exist in the other.

How do I get Antigravity to research a topic?

  1. Define the question and deliverable

Tell the agent what you want to know, who will use the answer, what is in or out of scope, and what format you need—for example, a concise report, a source-backed outline, or a comparison. Specify source-quality requirements, such as prioritizing primary sources and retaining links. For a question with several parts, ask for a short plan first so you can correct its scope before it does the longer work.

  2. Gather and organize evidence

Use the browser-agent workflow documented for Antigravity IDE, or the web search and Chrome interaction documented for Antigravity 2.0, to find relevant material. Ask the agent to preserve source links and label which points are directly supported versus inferred. Google’s IDE overview and Antigravity 2.0 overview describe these capabilities.

  3. Request an inspectable result

Ask for a structured report, outline, or comparison rather than an unorganized stream of notes. Antigravity documentation describes artifacts such as plans and reports; Google’s launch material also described task lists, plans, walkthroughs, screenshots, and browser recordings. A useful deliverable makes it easier to see what the agent did and where its conclusions came from.

  4. Verify the sources and claims

Open cited pages yourself. Check the publisher, date, and context, and confirm that each important statement is actually supported by the linked material. A generated report is a draft, not independent proof; an artifact shows work for review but does not certify that the work is accurate.

  5. Give concrete revision feedback

Point to a specific gap or change: ask for counterevidence, clearer attribution, a narrower conclusion, or a distinction between current facts and older material. Google describes artifact feedback as part of the launch workflow, which supports review and iteration rather than making the first result final.

Can Antigravity help me write or edit a document?

It can help brainstorm, create an outline, draft, rewrite, or edit project files. State the intended reader, tone, approximate length, factual boundaries, and output format. Then read the draft, independently check factual claims and quotations, and give precise revision instructions.

Antigravity 2.0’s documented file operations and artifact creation can support this kind of workflow, and its feature documentation describes voice transcription and artifact feedback. The documentation does not establish Antigravity as a dedicated word processor, a fact-checking guarantee, or an automatic publishing system. Keep the work in a suitable project and review the resulting file before using it elsewhere.

What other non-coding tasks can it handle?

Research, report preparation, synthesis, and browser-based information gathering fit the capabilities Google documents: web search, browser or Chrome interaction, file operations, and artifacts. Other workflows may be possible when the required tools and access are configured, but should not be treated as built-in or guaranteed.

Antigravity 2.0 can connect external tools through skills and MCP servers. Whether a particular integration is available depends on setup; the overview is not a promise that every outside service is already connected.

How do I check what Antigravity did?

  • Inspect the artifact. Review the plan, report, screenshots, walkthrough, or browser recording available for the task. Check that the output matches the requested scope and format.
  • Trace factual claims. Open the cited source and verify the exact claim, its date, and any qualifications. Do not rely on a citation merely because it appears in a polished report.
  • Review file changes. Open generated or edited files and check what changed before reusing them.
  • Iterate on specific issues. Identify missing evidence, unclear reasoning, or an unsupported conclusion, then ask for a targeted revision.

Google’s Antigravity 2.0 feature documentation describes artifacts as a way to communicate work and support user review. Google’s November 20, 2025 launch post also emphasizes that agent intelligence is imperfect and that user feedback is part of the workflow. Neither artifacts nor a completed task amount to a guarantee of correctness.

What can the agent access on my computer?

For Antigravity 2.0, Google’s feature documentation says agents request explicit permission before running terminal commands by default and are limited to reading and writing within project folders by default. Broader “Full machine” and “Unrestricted” presets change those access boundaries, and project-scoped permissions and settings are available.

Keep access aligned with the task: use the narrowest scope that works, inspect edits and generated files, and approve external or consequential actions deliberately. Check the settings in your installed version before starting, because defaults and configuration can change.

Which Antigravity version or surface should I use?

Choose based on how you want to work. The IDE overview describes an environment built around an editor, terminal, and browser; Antigravity 2.0 is documented as a standalone desktop command center for agents. Their documented entry points differ, so check the documentation for the surface you have installed rather than following setup steps written for the other one.

Google’s IDE overview says the IDE is not supported for enterprise customers and directs enterprise configurations to Antigravity 2.0 or CLI. Confirm current enterprise guidance and the capabilities available in your installed version before setting up a workflow.

Do not assume launch-era availability or usage terms remain current. Google Antigravity Team’s November 20, 2025 launch post said Antigravity was available in public preview at no cost for individuals on that date. That dated announcement does not establish current pricing, rate limits, or model access; consult current official plan and model documentation for those details.
