Short answer: CameraFi Live’s Android guide documents adding a video file as a broadcast source, but it does not confirm that the app works on Android TV boxes or that it can repeat a file continuously. Check support on your exact box before relying on this setup. If your goal is simply to show a video file inside CameraFi Live, the documented Android workflow may help; if you need the TV box itself to play and loop the file into the app, that arrangement is not established by CameraFi’s published guidance.
What CameraFi Live can—and cannot—be confirmed to do
CameraFi describes CameraFi Live as a mobile live-streaming app. Its Android beginner guide documents Camera and Screen modes and says the Video menu can add a built-in camera, USB external cameras, video files, and image files as sources. There are two different setups a reader might mean:
- Use a file as a CameraFi source: the Android guide describes video files as an available source type.
- Play a file continuously on the TV box and feed that playback into CameraFi: the reviewed guidance does not verify this arrangement, app installation on a TV box, file access from the box, or repeat playback.
The exact box model and Android version matter. Treat compatibility and looping as checks to perform on your own device, not as guaranteed features.

Check your Android TV box before setting up a broadcast
- Look for CameraFi Live in the box’s supported app store. The available guidance does not confirm that the app is offered for Android TV boxes. Do not assume a phone-oriented app will install or work correctly on a television interface.
- Confirm the video file is selectable. If the app is available, check whether its Video source menu can see the file in the location where it is stored. TV-box file access is not established by the Android guide.
- Check for a repeat or loop control. The guide identifies video files as sources but does not document repeat playback. If you need continuous playback, verify that the actual source controls provide it before planning a long broadcast.
- Check the YouTube account in advance. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, according to CameraFi’s guide and YouTube’s encoder guidance. YouTube: Get started with live streaming
If any of these checks fails, the cited sources do not establish sideloading, capture hardware, or another TV-box workaround as a supported fix. YouTube does support encoder-based streaming generally, with stream setup handled in Live Control Room, but that does not validate a particular replacement device or software package. Documented CameraFi Live workflow for YouTube

- Open CameraFi Live, choose YouTube as the platform, and sign in to the account you intend to broadcast from.
- Enter the broadcast screen and configure the title, privacy, and resolution offered by the app.
- Complete the stream setup, then create and start the broadcast using the app’s on-screen controls.
- Check the YouTube preview or watch page. Confirm the picture and audio are correct and monitor the stream while it is live.
- When finished, use CameraFi Live’s Stop control to end the broadcast.
For a video-file source, select the file through CameraFi’s Video menu if it is available and visible on the device. The guide does not specify a repeat setting, so do not infer that the file will restart automatically when it ends.
Test the stream, copyright, and archive behavior
Preview before sharing widely
YouTube’s live-stream tips recommend checking the preview and monitoring audio and video. If your account and interface offer a private or unlisted test, use it to check the image, sound, and stability before a public broadcast. Use media you have the right to stream
Live streams must follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. YouTube identifies a copyright strike on an active live stream as a reason access to streaming may be restricted. Make sure you have the necessary rights to every video and audio track in the loop; owning a file or finding it online does not by itself establish permission to broadcast it. Do not count on one complete archive for a long loop
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The cited guidance does not establish that a longer session will be saved as one complete video, so do not plan on a single full-length archive for a loop that exceeds that limit. When a TV-box loop is not a reliable fit
If CameraFi Live is unavailable on your box, cannot access the file, or lacks a repeat control you need, the box-based method is not verified for your use case. You can investigate a computer or another verified encoder path; YouTube recognizes encoder streaming generally, but the cited guidance does not recommend a specific alternative product.
