To use Talk Studio’s built-in teleprompter, open Text > Teleprompter > Add New, enter and save your script, then choose Show. You can control its visibility, playback and scrolling speed while presenting. Streamlabs says the prompt is visible only to you, not to viewers in the stream or recording.
How to add a teleprompter in Talk Studio on desktop
- In the studio, open Text on the right side. You can also press Shift + T.
- Find the Teleprompter section and select Add New.
- Enter your script and press Add to save it.
- Return to the Teleprompter section and select Show. The text appears in the studio editor or preview for you to follow.
These steps follow Streamlabs’ Talk Studio support guide, last updated April 25, 2025. Interface labels can change, so check the current studio if a control has moved.
How to add a prompt on a tablet or phone
- Below the editor or preview, open Menu, then select Text.
- Scroll to Teleprompter and select Add New.
- Enter the script and press Add to save it.
Control the teleprompter while presenting
Use Show/Hide to display or conceal the prompt and Play/Pause to control scrolling. Pause when you need to explain a point in your own words or respond to chat. Adjust the scrolling speed to suit your delivery: Streamlabs documents a starting speed of 0.5 and a maximum of 2x. Changing the speed restarts the prompt from the beginning, so set the pace before you start reading.
Edit or remove a saved prompt
Open Text and return to Teleprompter. Use the pencil/edit control beside a saved prompt to change it. The same area includes controls to show or delete prompts.

Script length and prompt limits
- Each teleprompter supports up to 2,000 characters.
- You can save up to 20 teleprompters.
These limits are stated in Streamlabs’ support guide, updated April 25, 2025. If a script exceeds the character limit, split it into multiple saved prompts and show them one at a time; that is a practical workaround based on the documented prompt limit and ability to save multiple prompts.

No separate physical teleprompter is documented as a requirement: the feature is built into Talk Studio. A camera is optional for using the prompt itself. If you want to appear on camera, Talk Studio’s setup guide covers selecting a webcam or other video input; it does not endorse a particular model.

Talk Studio’s teleprompter helps you read during a presentation; StreamNeo is a separate service for keeping a prerecorded YouTube channel live 24/7, not a teleprompter or camera-streaming tool. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. Every slot streams the upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; it also automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card.
