To transform a pet in AION 2, raise an eligible regular pet to Insight level 3, equip it, then use Empathy Candy (Bound). The transformation lasts five minutes (300 seconds), according to the available guide and item database.
Which pets can transform?
The October 3, 2026 guide How to Pet Transform in AION 2 says regular pets can transform, while Special pets cannot. The official AION 2 teaser describes pets as companions that can transform into rideable mounts and provide benefits such as auto-looting, but it does not specify the unlock requirements.
What you need
- An eligible regular pet.
- Enough of that pet’s souls to unlock it and raise it to Insight level 3.
- The pet equipped.
- Empathy Candy (Bound), the transformation consumable identified in the item database.
Reported soul requirements
Aion 2 Maps reports 5 souls to unlock a pet, 25 more to reach level 2, and 75 more to reach level 3: 105 souls total. Its September 28, 2026 guide labels these figures as datamined, so treat them as reported values rather than a guarantee for every version or region. Check the pet menu in your client, particularly after a game update.
How to unlock and use a pet transform
- Choose a regular pet. Special pets are excluded from transformation in the October 3 guide.
- Unlock and level that pet with its souls. Raise it to Insight level 3. The reported breakdown is 5 souls to unlock, followed by 25 and 75 souls for the next levels.
- Equip the level-3 pet. The item database says the transformation applies to the currently equipped pet.
- Use Empathy Candy (Bound). The item database lists it as the transformation item and gives the effect a duration of 300 seconds.
What is not established
The available sources do not provide a complete, authoritative current list of where to obtain each pet’s souls or Empathy Candy, or a dependable regional price for either. They also do not establish a reliable ranking of individual pets for transformation. Check the current in-game menus and item descriptions for acquisition details that apply to your client.
