Eternity is MapleStory: Idle RPG’s new T4 weapon grade, added in the October 15, 2026 update above Ancient. You can obtain it either by promoting five Ancient T1 weapons that have each reached awakening stage 5, or by reaching Weapon Summoning Level 19, where Eternity weapons enter the summon pool and a guaranteed Eternity summon feature becomes available.
The promotion path gives you a defined material target but requires substantial duplicate farming and awakening. The summon path avoids the five-weapon promotion recipe, but depends on summon progression and a probability-based pool; the exact Eternity rate has not been published in the available tables.
What the Eternity grade changes
NEXON’s October 15, 2026 patch notes describe the change plainly: “A new T4 Eternity weapon grade, higher than Ancient, has been added.” Eternity is therefore a new grade in the weapon progression rather than a temporary event item.

That rule does not make an Ancient T1 automatically stronger than an Eternity T4: Eternity is a higher grade than Ancient, and the patch does not provide a complete cross-grade stat table. Treat the Eternity designation as the important upgrade boundary, then compare the actual weapon effects and stats shown in your account.

Every weapon has two kinds of effects:
- Inventory effect: active while the weapon is in your collection.
- On-equip effect: active only for the weapon currently equipped.
Only one weapon can be equipped at a time, so upgrading a weapon can improve both your collection-wide bonuses and the performance of your active build.

The progression numbers are tied to the guide quests, not to your character’s combat level. If a feature is missing, check the guide-quest track first rather than assuming the weapon system is bugged.
Route 1: promote Ancient weapons into Eternity
Promotion is the most predictable route because the patch identifies the Ancient input directly. The practical recipe is five Ancient T1 weapons, with each copy awakened to stage 5 before promotion.
1. Obtain five Ancient T1 copies
Collect five copies of the Ancient T1 weapon you intend to promote. The promotion rule is based on duplicate copies, so mixing unrelated weapon models should not be treated as equivalent. Keep the copies together until you have confirmed that they are the duplicates required by the promotion screen.
2. Awaken each copy to stage 5
Awakening uses duplicate copies of a weapon. The general weapon documentation states that promotion converts five duplicate copies of a stage-5-awakened weapon into the next highest tier. In practical terms, plan for each of the five Ancient T1 promotion inputs to show awakening stage 5 before you attempt the Eternity conversion.
Awakening is separate from leveling. Weapon Enhancers raise a weapon’s level; duplicate weapons raise its awakening stage. Spending Enhancers alone will not satisfy the stage-5 promotion requirement.

3. Check the promotion screen before consuming materials
Open the weapon’s promotion interface only after the copies are ready. Verify the displayed input count, weapon name and awakening stages. Because the system consumes duplicate weapons, a mistaken confirmation can remove copies that you were saving for another weapon or collection effect.

4. Promote to Eternity
Confirm the conversion when the game shows the five qualifying Ancient T1 copies. The result is an Eternity weapon, the next grade above Ancient. The available patch information does not state an exact Eternity Enhancer cost or any additional currency requirement, so rely on the live promotion panel for those values.
What this route does and does not guarantee
- Known target: five Ancient T1 weapons are the stated promotion input.
- Additional work: the duplicate copies must reach awakening stage 5 under the general promotion rule.
- Not known from the patch information: the total number of Enhancers, the exact time required to collect duplicates, and any additional promotion fee.
Route 2: summon Eternity at Weapon Summoning Level 19
The alternative is to use Summon Weapons until your Weapon Summoning Level reaches 19. At level 19, Eternity weapons can appear from Summon Weapons at a set probability, and the October 15 update adds a guaranteed Eternity summon feature at that level.
How Weapon Summoning works
Summon Weapons accepts Weapon Summoning Tickets, 20 Red Diamonds per roll, or an advertisement. Each summon contributes to Weapon Summoning progression, which improves access to higher ranks as your summoning level rises.
The 20-Red-Diamond figure is the per-roll cost listed by the MapleStory Idle RPG Wiki in 2025. It is not an estimate of the total cost to reach level 19. The available summon table documents the level system and older tier rates but does not publish an Eternity probability, an expected number of rolls or a total diamond requirement.
What level 19 means
Level 19 is the gate at which Eternity enters the summon pool. The patch also adds a guaranteed Eternity summon feature at that level. The published information does not specify whether that guarantee is a one-time reward, a milestone reward or a repeating benefit, so read the in-game level-19 description before spending resources and do not assume every level-19 roll is guaranteed.

Retroactive progression after the update
If you had already accumulated Weapon Summoning EXP beyond level 18 before the update, that excess is retroactively applied when you summon after the update. Progress in Weapon Summoning Pass 6 is also retroactively applied when you summon after the update. The patch adds Weapon Summoning Pass 7 and an Eternity section to Weapon Mastery, so returning players should perform a summon after updating to trigger the carry-over rather than assuming the old progress has been lost.

These routes are not mutually exclusive. You can work toward promotion while raising Weapon Summoning Level, but track your duplicate copies carefully so you do not consume a weapon needed for the five-copy recipe.
How leveling, awakening and promotion fit together
Leveling with Weapon Enhancers
Weapon Enhancers increase a weapon’s attack, accuracy and attack speed. A weapon that has not been awakened has a level cap of 100. Leveling improves the weapon’s direct combat contribution, but it does not create duplicate copies and does not advance the awakening stage.

Duplicate copies raise awakening stage. The system allows up to five awakenings, and each awakening adds 20 levels to the weapon’s cap. A fully awakened weapon therefore reaches a level cap of 200. The extra level capacity is useful only if you have enough Enhancers to fill it, so do not confuse the higher cap with an automatic stat increase.
Promotion after stage 5
Promotion comes after the stage-5 awakening requirement. The general rule converts five duplicate copies of a stage-5-awakened weapon into the next highest tier. For the Eternity update, that means the Ancient T1 promotion input is five qualifying copies, not five Enhancer bundles and not five unrelated Ancient weapons.
Which upgrade should come first?
- If you are close to a promotion set: reserve the required duplicates and prioritize awakening them to stage 5. Enhancers can be added as your supply allows, but the promotion gate is the awakening stage.
- If you need immediate combat power: level the weapon you actually equip, because attack, accuracy and attack speed apply to its active performance. Remember that the non-awakened level cap is 100.
- If you are building collection strength: keep useful weapons in inventory for their always-active effects, even when another weapon is equipped.
- If you are deciding between multiple weapon models: compare their inventory and on-equip effects before committing duplicate copies to promotion; only one can be equipped at once.

The Weapon Dungeon is the principal free-to-play source of both Weapon Summoning Tickets and Weapon Enhancers. It contains 70 stages that unlock sequentially.

Dungeon entry and clear condition
Each stage requires you to defeat Orange Mushmom within 22 seconds. A dungeon entry ticket is returned after a successful clear, allowing you to continue farming without losing the ticket on a completed run.
- Reach guide-quest progression 34 to unlock the Weapon Dungeon.
- Enter the highest stage you can clear within the 22-second limit.
- Defeat Orange Mushmom before the timer expires.
- Use the returned entry ticket to continue progressing or farming.
- Spend the resulting Weapon Summoning Tickets on summon progression and reserve Enhancers for the weapon or promotion copies that matter most.
Because stages unlock sequentially, a failed attempt at a later stage does not replace the value of clearing earlier stages consistently. Improve the equipped weapon’s level, accuracy and attack speed when the timer is the limiting factor, then retry the next stage.

New players before progression 13
Follow the guide quests until the weapon system unlocks. There is no reason to save weapon-specific materials before the system is available, because the relevant interfaces and progression counters are locked behind the quest requirement.
After the weapon system unlocks
Use Weapon Enhancers on the weapon that contributes most to your current combat results, while keeping duplicate copies of a promising Ancient T1 weapon instead of consuming them casually. Leveling that active weapon helps you reach the Weapon Dungeon unlock and clear its timed stages.
After progression 34
Make the Weapon Dungeon part of your regular resource loop. Tickets support Weapon Summoning Level, and Enhancers support the level and awakening requirements that promotion demands. Keep a written or in-game record of which duplicate copies are assigned to your intended five-copy set.

Check your current Weapon Summoning EXP, ticket balance, Red Diamond balance and any available advertisement summons. If you played before the Eternity patch, perform a summon after updating so eligible EXP above level 18 and Pass 6 progress can be applied retroactively.

At level 19
Read the level-19 reward and guarantee description in the live client. Eternity is now eligible to appear in Summon Weapons, and the guaranteed Eternity summon feature is available, but the published information does not define its frequency or the exact probability of ordinary Eternity results.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Confusing level and awakening
Enhancers raise levels; duplicates raise awakening. A level-100 weapon that has never been awakened still has not met the stage-5 promotion requirement.
Assuming any five Ancient weapons qualify
The stated input is five Ancient T1 weapons, and the general rule refers to duplicate copies of a stage-5-awakened weapon. Verify the weapon model and stage on the promotion screen rather than counting five Ancient items by rarity alone.
Reading T4 as weaker than T1 across all grades
T1 is stronger than T4 within the same rarity. Eternity T4 is nevertheless the new grade above Ancient. Do not compare the labels across grades without checking the actual weapon information.
Expecting a published Eternity drop rate
The cited summon table does not provide an Eternity probability. Avoid calculating an expected ticket or diamond cost from older tier rates; those figures would not describe the new grade.
Spending every duplicate immediately
Duplicates are needed for awakening and may be needed in groups of five for promotion. Keep the copies required for your chosen route before using extras elsewhere.
Ignoring the timed dungeon condition
The Weapon Dungeon requires an Orange Mushmom defeat within 22 seconds. If you cannot clear a stage, improve the equipped weapon’s relevant stats or farm an earlier stage consistently rather than wasting attempts.

NEXON’s official guide notes that weapon information reflects the latest available data and may change in future updates. Eternity summon rates, the wording or conditions of the guaranteed-summon feature, material costs, Weapon Dungeon stages and pass rewards should therefore be checked in the current client. The stable facts for this update are the Eternity-over-Ancient grade relationship, the five Ancient T1 promotion input, the stage-5 duplicate rule, the level-19 summon gate and the Weapon Dungeon’s role as a ticket and Enhancer source.

- Collect Weapon Enhancers and Weapon Summoning Tickets from the 70-stage dungeon.

For a defined crafting target, build the five-copy Ancient T1 promotion set. For a progression-based approach, farm the Weapon Dungeon and push Weapon Summoning Level 19. In either case, use Enhancers for levels, duplicates for awakening, and the live promotion or summon screen for any cost or rate that the October 15 patch did not publish.
