Turn on Super Chat in YouTube Studio under Earn → Supers → Get started, complete the setup, accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM) if prompted, and enable Super Chat. That activates the channel feature for eligible content, but YouTube’s help pages do not explicitly guarantee Super Chat for every continuous prerecorded 24/7 rebroadcast. Check the specific stream in Studio before relying on it.
Check eligibility before looking for the switch
Super Chat is a YouTube fan-funding feature. YouTube says it is for eligible live streams and Premieres; access depends on the channel meeting applicable fan-funding requirements, the creator being in a supported location, and compliance with YouTube’s terms and policies. You may also need to accept the Commerce Product Module (CPM).
YouTube’s monetization eligibility page, accessed in 2026, shows a lower YouTube Partner Program (YPP) tier for fan-funding features such as Supers: 500 subscribers, at least three public uploads in the preceding 90 days, and either 3,000 qualifying public watch hours in the preceding 365 days or 3 million qualifying Shorts views in the preceding 90 days. Meeting those thresholds alone does not guarantee access to every feature; feature-specific conditions and location availability still apply. Check YouTube’s current YPP eligibility requirements.
The higher YPP tier shown on that page—1,000 subscribers and either 4,000 qualifying public watch hours in the preceding 365 days or 10 million qualifying Shorts views in the preceding 90 days—is associated with additional monetization features such as Watch Page Ads. It is not the Super Chat threshold.

Confirm the specific stream can accept Super Chats
Enabling Super Chat for a channel does not make it available on every video or broadcast. Live chat must be enabled, and YouTube excludes Super Chat on age-restricted, unlisted, private, Made for Kids, and YouTube Giving fundraiser videos. Super Chat is also unavailable when live chat or comments are turned off. Review both the channel’s Supers settings and the individual stream’s status and chat settings. Check YouTube’s Super Chat eligibility and availability rules.
What changes for prerecorded video running 24/7?
YouTube explicitly describes Super Chat for eligible live streams and Premieres. For prerecorded material, a Premiere is the clearly documented option: when Supers are enabled for the channel, they are automatically available for an eligible Premiere. YouTube’s cited help pages do not specifically confirm that every continuous 24/7 rebroadcast of prerecorded video qualifies. A stream being live does not, by itself, establish eligibility.

| Format | What YouTube’s documentation establishes | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Eligible live stream | Super Chat is supported when the channel and stream meet requirements. | Channel Supers access, live chat, location, and the stream’s status. |
| Premiere | Eligible Premieres support Supers; they are automatically available when channel Supers are enabled. | Channel Supers access and the Premiere’s eligibility and chat settings. |
| Continuous prerecorded 24/7 rebroadcast | The cited YouTube help pages do not expressly settle every such setup. | Inspect the actual stream in Studio and confirm whether viewers can send Super Chats. |
| Replay or archived video | The cited help pages do not establish that an ordinary replay qualifies for Super Chat. | Do not assume replay eligibility from the original live stream’s settings. |
YouTube describes Super Chat and Super Stickers as ways for fans to connect with creators during live streams and Premieres. For a 24/7 prerecorded channel, treat the live Studio view—not an assumption about the format—as the practical check. Read YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility information.
Why the Supers tab or Super Chat option may be missing
- The channel is not eligible or is not in an available location: review the channel’s Earn area and the current YPP and fan-funding requirements.
- The CPM setup is incomplete: return to Earn → Supers and complete any pending setup or acceptance prompt.
- The video’s status or category is excluded: check that it is not private, unlisted, age-restricted, Made for Kids, or a YouTube Giving fundraiser.
- Live chat or comments are off: enable live chat for the stream if it is otherwise eligible.
- The format is a continuous prerecorded rebroadcast: YouTube’s help pages do not guarantee Super Chat in every such configuration. Check the actual stream in Studio; if the feature is unavailable, a qualifying Premiere is the documented prerecorded format.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping an uploaded-video YouTube stream live without leaving a computer or home connection running: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live.
