Resident Evil Requiem does not document a universal gore-off switch. You can, however, make the game less physically uncomfortable by opening Options/Settings → Accessibility, setting Camera Wobble to 0% (or the lowest value), turning Motion Blur off or down, and enabling the center-screen dot as a fixed visual reference. If that is not enough, test the available first-person/third-person perspective choice and adjust character-specific camera speed or acceleration controls. On PC, use Options → Graphics → Image → Quality Settings and a frame-rate limit to reduce judder. These changes reduce camera movement and instability; they do not censor blood, dismemberment, or violent scenes.

- Open Options or Settings.
- Select Accessibility.
- Open the motion-sickness or motion-effects controls.
- Set Camera Wobble to 0% or the minimum available value.
- Set Motion Blur to Off or its lowest value.
- Enable the center-screen dot if a stationary reference helps you keep your eyes oriented.
- If you still feel unwell, try the other camera perspective and lower the character-specific camera speed or acceleration settings exposed by your version.
The accessibility guide describes 0% Camera Wobble as removing the wobble effect while keeping the gameplay impact. Menu names and the exact range of values can differ by platform or software version, so check the labels shown on your system.
What each motion setting changes
The controls do different jobs. Use the table to decide what to change first rather than disabling every visual effect at once.

| Setting | What it changes | Image and performance trade-off | Does it remove gore? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Camera Wobble | Reduces or removes deliberate camera sway and shake during movement and actions. | At 0%, the view is steadier. It should not materially change image detail or require extra hardware. | No. It changes camera movement only. |
| Motion Blur | Adds or removes blur while the camera or character moves. | Off gives a sharper moving image and can make fast turns easier to track. Rendering cost depends on the platform and implementation, but disabling it is generally a low-risk performance change. | No. Blood and violent imagery remain. |
| Center-screen dot | Places a fixed visual anchor in the middle of the display. | It does not change resolution, frame rate, or camera behavior. Some players find the persistent dot distracting instead. | No. |
| Perspective choice | Switches between the first-person and third-person view offered by the game version. | The apparent amount of camera movement can differ between perspectives. It changes how the scene is presented, not the underlying content. | No. |
| Camera speed or acceleration | Controls how quickly the view turns or reaches its chosen speed for a character or perspective. | Lower values make turns less abrupt but can feel slow during combat. Availability and labels vary by platform and version. | No. |
| Frame-rate and quality settings (PC) | Reduce rendering load and cap frame rate to make motion more consistent. | A steadier frame rate can reduce perceived judder, but lower quality may reduce resolution, lighting, reflections, or other visual detail. | No. |
Step-by-step: remove camera wobble and motion blur
1. Open Accessibility from a safe point
Pause during play or go to the main menu. Changing options outside an active cutscene makes it easier to see the result and avoids confusing a scripted camera movement with a setting problem.
2. Set Camera Wobble to zero
In Options/Settings → Accessibility, find the motion-sickness controls and move Camera Wobble to 0%. If your menu uses a slider without percentages, choose the leftmost or minimum position. The accessibility documentation says this removes the wobble effect while preserving gameplay impact, so attacks, exploration, and encounters still function normally.
3. Turn Motion Blur off
Set Motion Blur to Off. If the menu offers only levels such as Low, Medium, and High, choose Low. Blur and wobble are independent: turning off blur will not stop the camera from moving, and setting wobble to zero will not sharpen a blurred image.

4. Add a center-screen dot if you need a visual anchor
Enable the center-screen dot in the same accessibility area. A fixed point can make it easier to track the center of the view when the environment moves. If it draws your attention away from aiming or becomes irritating, disable it; it has no effect on performance or game content.
5. Test both perspectives
Use the perspective option exposed by your edition to compare first-person and third-person play. Stay in a low-pressure area for a minute, turn slowly, then walk and sprint. Keep the perspective that produces less discomfort. The setting changes the camera presentation, not the violence shown in scenes.
6. Slow the camera response
Where the menu provides character-specific camera speed, sensitivity, or acceleration, lower the value in small steps. A slower response can prevent abrupt turns, but an extremely low value may make it harder to react during combat. Apply the change, test it, and adjust again rather than moving directly to an unusably slow setting.

Recommended combinations for common problems
| If your main problem is… | Start with… | Then try… |
|---|---|---|
| Blur during quick turns | Motion Blur Off | Lower camera speed or switch perspective if turning still feels disorienting. |
| Shaking or swaying while walking or aiming | Camera Wobble 0% | Use the center-screen dot and test the alternate perspective. |
| Discomfort from rapid camera acceleration | Lower character-specific camera speed or acceleration | Use the perspective that gives you a wider, steadier view. |
| Uneven, juddering movement on PC | Use Graphics → Image → Quality Settings to lower demanding options | Set a frame-rate limit that your system can hold consistently. |
| Distress from blood or graphic injuries | There is no documented universal gore filter to enable | Check the edition and region information for your platform before purchase or installation; motion controls will not remove violent imagery. |
Can you turn gore off in Resident Evil Requiem?
The documented accessibility listings cover motion, flashing-light, subtitle, visual, audio, and physical-accessibility options, but they do not list a general Gore: Off switch. The practical answer is therefore: you can reduce motion effects, but the standard settings documented for Requiem do not provide a universal gore filter.
The Entertainment Software Rating Board’s record describes Resident Evil Requiem as containing dismemberment, decapitation, large blood stains, body parts, exposed entrails, and graphic violent cutscenes. Those details are part of the game’s rated content, not merely camera effects. Turning off wobble, blur, or other movement options cannot remove them.
Regional releases can apply their own content changes, so do not assume that behavior in one country, console store, or edition applies to every platform. If blood and graphic violence are a deciding factor, verify the rating and the specific regional version before buying or downloading. Do not describe the motion settings as censorship controls: they alter how the camera moves while leaving the underlying scenes intact.

- Reawaken a Classic – Resident Evil 4 preserves the essence of the original game, now reconstructed using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine to deliver realistic visuals and additional narrative depth to the iconic story that was not possible at the time of the original release.
- Modernized Gameplay – The team from 2019’s Resident Evil 2 returns to build upon the series’ modern approach to survival horror. Engage in frenzied combat with the Ganados villagers, explore a European village gripped by madness, and solve puzzles to access new areas and collect useful items for Leon and Ashley’s constant struggle to survive.
- Overwhelming Hordes – Face hordes of rabid enemies that threaten to overwhelm Leon with even more diverse methods of attack than in the original release.
- Survive on a Knife’s Edge – Years of intense training have taught Leon new ways to use his knife, helping to even the odds against the unrelenting onslaught of enemies. By parrying enemy attacks, you can avoid debilitating damage and evade lunging enemies seeking to grab Leon and hold him in place. Make smart use of scavenged knives to deliver precise finishing moves on vulnerable enemies, and even use the element of surprise to quietly dispatch unsuspecting foes before they break.

Reduce visual judder on PC
When motion feels uncomfortable because frames arrive unevenly, use the in-game graphics menu before attempting file edits:
- Open Options.
- Select Graphics.
- Open Image.
- Enter Quality Settings.
- Lower demanding settings incrementally, applying each change so you can identify which option helps.
- Set a frame-rate limit that your computer can sustain instead of allowing a highly variable frame rate.
Capcom’s PC troubleshooting guidance recommends lowering quality settings and limiting frame rate when performance is unstable. A consistent frame rate can make camera movement appear smoother, but it does not remove blood, dismemberment, or violent cutscenes.
Capcom also documents a config.ini location for advanced graphics adjustments. Treat direct file editing as an optional, version-sensitive workaround: back up the file, change one value at a time, and restore the backup if the game fails to launch or resets your settings after a patch. The in-game controls are the safer first step, and a configuration edit cannot create a gore filter that the accessibility menu does not provide.

- Collect and Customize – Gather materials while exploring the station to unlock upgrades, build out a diverse arsenal of weapons, obtain new outfits, and more. Once you’re ready, use the new gear in battle and take on even greater challenges!
What to do if you still feel motion sick
Use a controlled sequence so you know which change helped:
- Keep Camera Wobble at 0% and Motion Blur Off.
- Enable the center-screen dot for one test session.
- Choose one perspective and play briefly in a low-intensity area.
- If symptoms continue, switch perspective without changing the other settings.
- Lower camera speed or acceleration in a small increment.
- On PC, stabilize frame delivery with lower quality settings and a frame-rate cap.
- Stop the session if discomfort starts, and return later rather than trying to push through it.
Changing one variable at a time makes the result clear. A setting that helps one player can bother another: some people prefer a fixed dot, while others find any persistent reticle distracting; some prefer first-person framing, while others find third-person movement easier to follow.
Platform and version notes
Capcom lists Requiem versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and Epic. The accessibility concepts are the same, but menu wording, controller prompts, graphics options, and available perspective controls can differ. Use the button prompts and labels shown by your own system rather than following a screenshot from another platform.
Recommended Free Tools
Platform-specific features such as resolution modes, HDR, ray tracing, audio options, and controller behavior can affect how the image or camera feels. If a patch changes the menu, revisit Accessibility and Graphics after updating. A setting may move, gain a new range, or be exposed only on a particular platform; the absence of a control in your menu is not evidence that another edition has it.
Troubleshooting: when a change seems not to work
| Symptom | Likely explanation | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The view still shakes after setting wobble to 0% | You may be seeing a scripted sequence, an attack animation, or movement from another camera effect. | Test ordinary walking and aiming after leaving the cutscene. Confirm the slider is at its minimum and that the option was saved. |
| The image is still smeared during turns | Motion Blur may be set to Low rather than Off, or another display effect may be active. | Return to Accessibility, choose Off if available, and compare a slow pan with a fast one. |
| The frame rate feels unstable after lowering quality | The selected settings may still exceed your hardware, or the frame-rate limit may be too high. | Lower another demanding image setting and choose a cap the system can hold consistently. |
| You cannot find a gore option | The documented standard accessibility controls do not include a universal gore toggle. | Do not substitute motion controls for content filtering. Check the regional edition and rating information instead. |
| The menu labels do not match a guide | Controls vary by platform or software version. | Look under Accessibility for motion-sickness controls and under Graphics → Image for PC quality settings; recheck after patches. |
| A configuration edit stopped working after an update | Direct config.ini edits are version-sensitive and may be overwritten. |
Restore the backup, launch once with in-game defaults, and use the current in-game options before attempting another edit. |
A practical low-motion preset
For a first pass, use this combination:
- Camera Wobble: 0%.
- Motion Blur: Off, or Low when Off is unavailable.
- Center-screen dot: On if a fixed reference helps; otherwise Off.
- Perspective: whichever of first-person or third-person produces less discomfort in a short test.
- Camera speed/acceleration: lower than the default, adjusted until turns remain controllable.
- PC frame rate: cap it at a level the computer can maintain, using lower Quality Settings if necessary.
This preset addresses camera movement, blur, and unstable rendering while leaving the game’s scenes and combat intact. It is the most the documented standard controls can do; they are not a substitute for a gore filter.
