To stop alerts from a particular game, turn off notifications for that game in your phone’s settings. On iPhone, switch off Allow Notifications for the game. On Android, disable all of its notifications or, where available, just selected notification categories.
Turn off game notifications on iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps, then tap the game.
- Tap Notifications.
- Switch off Allow Notifications.
This stops the game’s notifications. If you do not see Notifications in the game’s settings, Apple says the app might not be able to send notifications. If you leave notifications on, iPhone also lets you adjust their sounds, placement and appearance. See Apple’s instructions for notifications from a specific iPhone app.
Turn off game notifications on Android
- Open the phone’s Settings app.
- Tap Notifications, then App notifications.
- Find the game in the recently sent apps list, or choose the option to display all apps.
- Tap the game and switch off its notifications. If notification categories are listed, turn off only the categories you no longer want.
Android menu names and options vary by phone. On some older versions, the recently sent apps list may not appear; open App notifications and select the game there. For another route, swipe down to one of the game’s notifications, touch and hold it, then tap Settings. You can disable all notifications or choose which notification types to keep. Use a quiet mode for a temporary break
If you only want fewer interruptions for a while, Android’s Do Not Disturb and other notification modes can quiet alerts across the phone. Unlike turning off notifications for one game, these modes can affect notifications from other apps too. Google notes that some instructions apply only to Android 14 and later; after setup, mode controls are available from Quick Settings. Read Google’s guide to Android Modes and Do Not Disturb.
