You do not need to transfer your BGMI account to BGMI Air. KRAFTON India’s October 16, 2026 announcement says existing BGMI players can access the separate, lighter BGMI Air app with the same account, without an account-transfer procedure. The current listing also describes access to owned items and play with friends on the main BGMI app, although those are developer-described features rather than independent device-test results.
Control layouts and sensitivity values are different: no current KRAFTON material reviewed here documents automatic synchronization, an export/import file, or a sensitivity-code workflow for BGMI Air. Save your settings from BGMI, sign in with the same linked account when BGMI Air launches, verify your profile and inventory, then compare or manually recreate your controls and sensitivity before playing competitively.
What transfers automatically, and what does not
BGMI Air is being released as a separate application rather than as an update that replaces the existing BGMI installation. KRAFTON India announced on October 16, 2026 that the former BGMI LITE name had become BGMI Air, with Android pre-registration opened on August 25 and launch planned for later in 2026. Its statement says: “For existing BGMI players, no account transfer will be required to play BGMI Air, with players able to access the game separately without transferring their existing BGMI account.”

That distinction matters. Account continuity is currently stated by KRAFTON; settings continuity is not. Treat BGMI Air as a fresh app installation that you sign into, not as a migration wizard that is known to copy every local preference.

Prepare your BGMI account before BGMI Air launches
Keep the original BGMI installation and its account intact until you have tested BGMI Air on your own device. The safest preparation is a record of your account state and settings, not an attempt to move files between app folders.
Confirm which account you use
- Open BGMI and identify the sign-in method and account identity you normally use.
- Make sure you can still authenticate through that same method before installing another app. If your account uses a linked service, verify that the link is active and that you know the correct credentials.
- Do not create a new BGMI Air profile simply because the first screen offers a guest or alternate sign-in. A different identity can appear to have missing items even when your original account is intact.
The practical rule is simple: the account you select in BGMI Air must be the same linked account used by your existing BGMI profile. KRAFTON’s announcement removes the need for a separate transfer transaction; it does not remove the need to choose the correct login.
Record account-state evidence
Before launch, take screenshots of your BGMI profile, player ID, inventory highlights and friend list, or write down the relevant identifiers. These records give you a before-and-after reference if the new app displays an unexpected name, level or item. Keep the screenshots private; they may contain identifying information.
Back up controls and sensitivity
Use BGMI’s current Controls and Sensitivity pages and capture the complete configuration. Include the parts that are easy to overlook:

- Overall control layout and button positions.
- Camera sensitivity values.
- ADS sensitivity values.
- Gyroscope sensitivity values, if you use the gyro.
- Per-scope or per-optic values.
- Any related firing, peek, movement or other toggles that affect muscle memory.
Scroll through every page before taking the final screenshots. A single image of the first sensitivity panel is not enough if your setup uses separate camera, ADS, gyroscope or scope entries. Written values are useful as a second copy, particularly if screenshots are stored on the same phone that may be reset or replaced.
Install BGMI Air and sign in safely
When BGMI Air is released, install it through the official Android route shown by KRAFTON or the authorized app listing. The announcement describes an initial download of around 1 GB and optional downloadable modules; the final package and device requirements can change before release.
- Leave BGMI installed and signed in on your device.
- Install BGMI Air from the official release listing once it is available in your region.
- Allow the initial download to finish on a reliable connection. Optional modules may be offered separately, so choose only the content you need for your first test.
- At the sign-in screen, select the same account method and account identity used in BGMI. Do not use a new guest profile for the verification pass.
- Reach the lobby and wait for account data to finish loading before judging what is present.
Do not uninstall BGMI, clear its data or unlink its account during this first session. Keeping the original app gives you a reference and avoids turning a verification problem into a data-recovery problem.
Verify your account, items and social connections
The listing says an existing account can retain owned items and play with friends on the main BGMI app. Verify those claims on your device rather than assuming every local preference has followed.

Profile check
- Compare the player name, ID, level and other visible profile details with your BGMI record.
- Confirm that the account is the intended one, not a newly created profile with a similar display name.
- Check any account-specific notices or prompts before accepting changes.
Inventory and purchase check
- Open the inventory or collection areas and compare several owned items, not just one cosmetic.
- Check the currencies or purchase-related balances that are visible in the app.
- If an item is absent, stop and document the screen with a screenshot. Do not delete BGMI or repeatedly switch accounts while trying to troubleshoot.
Friends and play check
- Open the friends list and confirm that familiar contacts appear.
- Invite a trusted friend or inspect the available cross-app play options only after your account identity is confirmed.
- Record any differences between the listing’s described cross-app play and what your release actually offers; availability can depend on the final version and region.
Only after these checks should you consider changing the original installation. The evidence does not establish a one-time transfer that consumes or removes the BGMI account, so there is no reason to treat the first BGMI Air login as a point of no return.
Move your controls and sensitivity settings
No current source reviewed provides a BGMI Air control-layout export/import path, a sensitivity-code feature or an automatic-sync promise. The dependable method is to compare the new app with your saved record and recreate values manually when necessary.
Check whether your release already contains the values
- Open BGMI Air’s Controls section and inspect the layout editor.
- Open Sensitivity and review camera, ADS, gyroscope and per-scope pages that you use.
- Compare each value and major button position against your BGMI screenshots or written list.
- If the values match, test a few movements and aim transitions anyway; a visually identical number can feel different if other control toggles or device settings differ.
If BGMI Air shows your previous configuration, treat that as a result of your installed version rather than proof that every future release will synchronize settings. The documented announcement establishes account access, not a settings contract.

Recreate a missing layout
- Open the Controls editor and select the layout mode that corresponds to your BGMI setup.
- Use your screenshot as a map. Reposition movement, fire, aim, crouch, prone, jump, peek, reload and other action buttons before fine-tuning their sizes or opacity.
- Match the placement of scope and weapon-switch controls that affect your fastest actions.
- Save the layout, then enter the practice range or another non-competitive mode.
- Test movement, camera turns, firing, recoil control, crouch-jump transitions and any gyro actions you rely on.
- Make small corrections, save again and repeat until the layout is usable.
Recreate sensitivity values
- Enter the Sensitivity section and work from your written list or screenshots rather than memory.
- Set camera sensitivity first, including each scope or optic value you use.
- Set ADS sensitivity next, again checking every scope-specific entry.
- If you use gyroscope aiming, enter the gyro values separately and verify that the gyro toggle is enabled as intended.
- Save the configuration and test slow tracking, rapid turns, scope transitions and recoil control in the practice range.
- Change one value at a time. Record any adjustment so you can return to the known BGMI baseline.
Do not tune for ranked play during the first setup session. A practice-range check exposes an incorrect scope value or disabled gyro without risking a match, ranking points or teammates’ game.

Troubleshoot common transfer problems
BGMI Air opens a blank or new profile
Sign out only if the app provides a clear account-management path, then sign back in with the exact linked account used in BGMI. Compare the player ID, not just the display name. Keep BGMI installed while you contact the game’s official support channel if the original profile still does not appear.
Inventory or purchases look incomplete
Wait for downloads and account synchronization to finish, then recheck the profile and inventory. Capture the missing-item screen and preserve transaction information if relevant. Do not uninstall the original app or make additional purchases while the account identity is uncertain.
Controls or sensitivity are missing
This is consistent with the current evidence: automatic settings migration is not documented. Use your saved screenshots and recreate the values manually. If you did not save them, inspect every BGMI page while the original app remains available and create a new record before changing anything.

The layout feels different even with matching numbers
Check button positions, button sizes, opacity, firing or peek toggles, gyro enablement and per-scope values. Differences in device aspect ratio or touch behavior can also require small placement adjustments. Make one controlled change at a time and retest in practice mode.

The app cannot be installed or lacks a required option
The announcement does not state final minimum RAM, final launch day or iOS availability. Check the official listing for your region and device rather than relying on early pre-registration details. Optional modules may also affect the storage needed after the approximately 1 GB initial download described in the announcement.
Do not reuse the old 2021 migration instructions
A BGMI Help Center notice from 2021 described a different transition: PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik to BGMI. That process used a linked social account, worked through in-game settings and had a December 31, 2021 deadline. It also warned that transferring after playing could overwrite new-app progress and purchases.
Those instructions are historical and do not establish a BGMI Air process. Do not look for a Livik transfer button, do not follow its expired deadline and do not assume its overwrite warning describes the current BGMI Air sign-in model. BGMI Air’s current guidance is separate app access with the existing account, followed by your own verification of data and settings.

BGMI Air is positioned as a lighter, separate app. KRAFTON’s announcement gives an around-1-GB initial download figure and the current listing describes optional downloadable modules. This can reduce the amount you must install at first, but the final space required depends on which modules you choose and on updates released after launch.
- Keep enough free storage for the initial package, temporary installation files and any modules you intend to add.
- Install over a stable connection and avoid judging account completeness while content is still downloading.
- Retain BGMI until profile, inventory, friends, controls and sensitivity have all been checked.
- Only remove optional modules or the original app after deciding that the saved records and the new installation meet your needs.
KRAFTON India reported 10 million pre-registrations in its 2026 announcement, while a current publisher page reports 260 million accumulated BGMI downloads. Those figures describe interest and historical reach, not a guarantee that every device, region or account will receive identical launch behavior.
A safe launch-day checklist
- Confirm the official BGMI Air release and the requirements shown for your device.
- Keep BGMI installed and preserve access to its linked account.
- Save complete control, camera, ADS, gyro and per-scope records.
- Install BGMI Air and use the same account identity.
- Wait for initial downloads and optional content choices to finish.
- Compare player ID, profile, inventory, visible purchases and friends.
- Inspect Controls and Sensitivity for any values that are already present.
- Manually recreate missing values and layout elements from your records.
- Test movement and aim in the practice range before competitive play.
- Keep the original BGMI installation until you are satisfied that the new app works for your account and device.
What remains unknown
As of October 19, 2026, the available material does not specify a final BGMI Air launch day, minimum RAM requirement, iOS release, control-layout export/import command or sensitivity synchronization guarantee. Those details may be added in a later official listing or help article. Until they are documented, the conservative workflow is to reuse the account, verify server-side data and treat controls as manual recreation.
