A screenshot shows what a browser displayed at one moment. It does not establish that the offer remains available, applies in every delivery location, or will match the checkout price. No listing behavior or capture result is established here, so treat each record as an observation to verify rather than a guaranteed price.

Before automating an authorized workflow, choose the product URLs, cadence, and definition of a comparable offer. Prices can differ because of variant, seller, discount, promotion, or delivery/pincode availability. Avoid treating unlike variants or different offer contexts as direct price comparisons.
- Record the product URL and product or variant identifier.
- Save the capture timestamp with its timezone.
- Where visible, note displayed price, seller, promotion, and availability context.
- Store a run status and review exceptions such as missing pages or unexpected content.
These are sensible record-keeping fields, not a claim that Flipkart exposes a stable schema for them.
Build an authorized screenshot workflow with Playwright
The components are separate: a scheduler starts a script; the script opens an authorized product page in a browser; Playwright saves an image; and the workflow stores the image with its context for later review. Do not add CAPTCHA bypass, bot evasion, fingerprint randomization, or other attempts to defeat site controls.

A page image is useful evidence of what rendered, but it is not structured price data. If an authorized workflow needs fields for analysis, record them only through a permitted, stable source or with human verification; do not assume that a visible layout or selector remains fixed.
Schedule the script with GitHub Actions
GitHub Actions can invoke the script on a recurring cron schedule. Its schedule is not a precision timer: jobs may be delayed, and queued runs can be dropped under heavy load, especially around the start of an hour. Use an off-the-hour time and allow for missed or late observations.
Add a scheduled workflow
Create .github/workflows/capture.yml in the repository. The schedule below runs hourly at 17 minutes past the hour in UTC. Set the PRODUCT_URL repository variable to an authorized URL; the script reads it from the environment.

GitHub documents POSIX cron syntax, UTC as the default timezone, optional IANA timezone support, and a five-minute minimum interval. Public-repository schedules are automatically disabled after 60 days without repository activity. These behaviors can change; check the GitHub Actions schedule documentation before relying on a particular cadence.
Choose a cadence that fits the decision
More frequent captures create more files and review work, but do not make the scheduler exact or the displayed price definitive. Pick an interval that is useful for the decision you are making, and check whether the observed page loaded and contained the expected product before treating a capture as comparable. For critical monitoring, design an explicit exception review rather than interpreting a missing run as an unchanged price.
Troubleshoot common failures
- No capture file: Check that the workflow ran, that
PRODUCT_URLis set, dependencies installed, and the capture step completed. Review the Actions log and artifact upload result. - Scheduled run is late or absent: Cron schedules are not guaranteed to start at an exact time; high load can delay or drop queued runs. Check the workflow status and use an off-the-hour schedule. Confirm that the workflow is on the default branch and that a public repository has not had schedules disabled after 60 days without activity.
- Browser navigation times out: A page may be slow or unavailable. Inspect the run log and status, then decide whether to retry later under the authorized workflow. Do not respond by trying to evade access controls.
- Screenshot is blank or unexpected: Treat it as an exception, not a price observation. Verify the URL and rendered page manually through an allowed route, then mark the run accordingly.
- Price or offer context differs: Compare the same variant, seller and promotion context where possible, and account for delivery location. A screenshot cannot prove checkout applicability or availability elsewhere.
When a screenshot script is the wrong fit
A self-managed browser capture is best suited to a small number of authorized observations where images and human review are enough. It requires you to maintain the script, schedule, files, and exception handling; it does not automatically solve catalog matching, equivalent-variant selection, or reliable structured price history.
