To track a DoorDash drone delivery, open the DoorDash app, tap Orders, then select the order. The order page shows its status and estimated arrival time. DoorDash says customers can also follow a drone order in the app, though the exact screens may differ between DoorDash Air and partner-operated drone services.
Track your drone order in the DoorDash app
- Open DoorDash and tap Orders.
- Select the drone order. Check its current status and estimated arrival time on the order page.
- Return to the order page for updates. DoorDash’s general order guidance describes stages such as confirmation in progress, at the restaurant, and the Dasher on the way. Those are general statuses and should not be assumed to match every drone delivery screen.
DoorDash’s announcement of its DoorDash Air experience describes updates for order preparation, flight time, in-flight status, and landing. That description applies to the announced DoorDash Air experience; DoorDash’s materials do not establish that every partner-operated drone order uses the same display or controls. Turn on notifications for important updates
DoorDash says important order updates can be sent as notifications when notifications are enabled. Check that DoorDash notifications are allowed in your device settings if you want alerts. The company does not promise a particular push-notification schedule for every drone flight, so use the order page as the place to check current status.
How drone tracking differs from standard Dasher tracking
For a regular Dasher delivery, DoorDash says a map and text or call options may appear after a Dasher accepts the order. Those instructions concern Dasher deliveries. Do not assume a drone order will show the same live map, contact buttons, or delivery controls; DoorDash’s Air announcement instead describes preparation and flight-related updates. Check whether drone delivery is available for your address
Drone availability depends on the delivery address, order eligibility, and local operating conditions. DoorDash’s consumer help page says to look for eligible stores marked with a banner or use the drone filter, confirm that the address is in a drone delivery zone, and select Drone at checkout. Smaller orders are more likely to qualify because aircraft have weight and size limits. Alcohol is not eligible. Hours can vary; service is generally during daylight and may pause because of weather or other safety conditions. DoorDash: How to place a drone order
DoorDash’s consumer help page names parts of Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, and Charlotte, North Carolina, and lists Wing, Flytrex, and Manna as drone partners. A separate DoorDash announcement dated September 30, 2026, says planned pilot deliveries using DoorDash Air would begin in Northern California. These sources do not reconcile the differing location descriptions, so check your address and the available option in the app rather than relying on a general service-area list. DoorDash Air announcement
DoorDash’s September 30, 2026 announcement says estimates from its initial tests put restaurant-to-consumer delivery at under five minutes on average. This is DoorDash’s estimate from initial tests, not a promised delivery time or a customer-wide measured average. DoorDash Air announcement
