Look for one of two labels: K-Cup pod or AltaRound. Keurig says the Alta brewer accepts K-Cup pods, while AltaRounds are made exclusively for the Alta system. A Keurig brand name by itself does not confirm compatibility.
Which coffee pods work in the Keurig Alta?
Keurig’s Alta FAQ states that the brewer is backward compatible with K-Cup pods. That means K-Cup pods are the supported choice if you want to use a pod format Keurig explicitly confirms for Alta.
AltaRounds are the dedicated pressed coffee and espresso format designed for Alta. Keurig describes them as compatible only with the Alta system, not as a format for other Keurig brewers.
How to check a pod package
- Read the format name on the package. Look for “K-Cup” or “AltaRound.” Keurig’s Alta FAQ confirms K-Cup pod use and identifies AltaRounds as Alta-only.
- Do not rely on the Keurig logo alone. A product being associated with Keurig does not establish that it works in the Alta; the format label is the useful check.
- For an unfamiliar or third-party product, check its exact format. The compatibility confirmation is for K-Cup pods as a category; it does not establish that every product marketed with a Keurig reference fits.

Keurig’s March 13, 2024 corporate announcement also said Alta would brew existing K-Cup pods. The current Alta FAQ is the direct source for compatibility.

Does a reusable My K-Cup filter fit Alta?
That is not established by the K-Cup pod compatibility statement. Keurig’s My K-Cup product page describes a reusable filter for ground coffee in Keurig brewers but does not specifically name Alta. Check Alta’s model-specific documentation or contact Keurig support before buying one for this brewer.
Where can you find the compatible formats?
Keurig’s official beverage catalog lists K-Cup pods: Shop All Beverage K-Cup Pods, Bags, & Cans. The Alta product page identified KeurigAlta.com as the AltaRounds sales channel at launch. As of October 4, 2026, it described early-access shipping expected to begin October 21, 2026; launch timing and sales channels can change, so check the current Alta page for purchasing details.
