Open the page, press Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) or open Screenshot from the page’s right-click menu or Edge settings, choose Capture full page, then copy or save the result. If you need PDF export, extension-specific editing, or an automated workflow, an Edge add-on—or an API such as ScreenshotNeo—may be a better fit.
Use Edge’s built-in full-page Screenshot tool first
The built-in tool is the simplest route because it requires no installation and works from the page you are already viewing. Microsoft describes it as capturing content beyond the visible viewport, with markup tools available before you copy or save the image. Labels can vary slightly by Edge version, device type, market, or managed-browser configuration.
- Open the target page. Wait until the content you need has loaded. Expand accordions, load more results, or scroll through lazy-loaded sections first if they are not present in the initial page.
- Open Screenshot. Press Ctrl+Shift+S, right-click the page and select Screenshot, or open Edge’s settings and choose the Screenshot command.
- Select the full-page option. In the capture overlay, choose Capture full page (the wording may differ in a particular release).
- Inspect the long image. Check the top, bottom, and transition points between stitched sections. Interactive content, sticky headers, and animated areas deserve special attention.
- Annotate if needed. Use the pen or touch markup controls on the overlay to draw attention to an area before exporting.
- Copy or save. Copy the completed capture to the clipboard or save it as a file from the overlay.
When the built-in capture is the right choice
- You need a one-off image of an article, support page, receipt, or documentation page.
- You do not want to grant an extension additional site permissions.
- You only need Edge’s copy/save output and basic markup.
Install an Edge add-on for extra output or editing
An extension is useful when you need a dedicated capture button, a PDF export, or editing controls that are not part of the built-in workflow. Installing one follows Edge’s standard extension process:
- Select Extensions beside the address bar.
- Choose Get Extensions for Microsoft Edge.
- Search for the extension you want.
- Select Get.
- Review the permissions requested, then select Add extension.
Edge can also install extensions from the Chrome Web Store after you enable the option to allow extensions from other stores. Only enable that setting when you trust the source, and review permissions before installation. A screenshot extension may be able to read page content, so avoid granting broad access casually on confidential sites.

GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture
GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture is a relevant Edge add-on when you want an assembled long screenshot with image or PDF export. Its listing says the extension captures each section of the page, combines them, and opens the result in a new tab.
How to capture with GoFullPage
- Install GoFullPage through Edge’s Extensions area and approve its requested permissions.
- Open the page you want to record.
- Select the GoFullPage icon in the toolbar. The listing also documents Alt+Shift+P as a shortcut.
- Let the extension scroll through and assemble the page. Keep the tab open until processing finishes.
- In the result tab, choose the image or PDF download option.
The listing also describes a premium editor with crop, annotation, and emoji tools. Treat the listing’s controls as changeable: extension interfaces and feature availability can change between releases. Exceptionally large pages may be split into separate images rather than delivered as one file.

- Finish loading dynamic content. Scroll through the page once so lazy images and embedded sections have a chance to load.
- Dismiss or accept consent prompts. A cookie banner can cover the bottom of every stitched section. If the page is untrusted, do not accept optional tracking merely to take a screenshot; look for a necessary-only choice or close control.
- Freeze transient UI. Close chat widgets, newsletter popups, translation bars, and browser prompts where possible.
- Set the viewport intentionally. Resize the Edge window or use browser zoom before capture if a particular desktop width is important. Zoom changes the scale and readability of the final image.
- Check access. A page behind a login, paywall, bot check, or intranet policy may not render the same way for an extension as it does for you.
Troubleshooting full-page screenshots
Screenshot is missing from the menu
Try Ctrl+Shift+S and check Edge’s settings for Screenshot. On a work or school computer, an administrator may disable the feature with the WebCaptureEnabled policy. That policy applies to Edge 77 and later; a managed device can therefore hide the command even when your personal browser has it.
The shortcut does nothing
Another application or extension may be intercepting the key combination. Use the right-click or Settings command instead. If those are unavailable, verify that Edge is current and that your organization has not disabled Web Capture.
The capture stops before the bottom
Some pages change their DOM while Edge is scrolling, require interaction to reveal content, or contain frames that do not participate in the capture. Scroll manually first, expand the relevant sections, close overlays, and try again. If the page remains unstable, capture sections separately or use an add-on that handles the page’s layout differently.
Sticky headers or floating controls appear repeatedly
Fixed-position elements can be rendered in every stitched segment. Close the control before capturing, hide it with the site’s own controls, or use an editor to crop the repeated areas. An extension may offer different stitching behavior, but no tool can guarantee a perfect result on every CSS layout.

Images are blank or low resolution
Wait for images to finish loading and confirm that you are not capturing while the page is still replacing placeholders. Very large output can also be downscaled by the browser or device. Capture at a sensible window size, and consider several smaller captures when a single extremely tall bitmap becomes unwieldy.
GoFullPage produces multiple files
The extension listing warns that exceptionally large pages may be split into separate images. Download all parts and join them in an image editor or PDF tool, or capture only the relevant sections.
The extension cannot capture a restricted page
Browser security rules, login state, cross-origin frames, enterprise controls, and bot checks can prevent an extension from seeing or scrolling content. Do not weaken security settings to bypass a site restriction. Ask the site owner for an export, use an authorized session, or capture the visible sections manually.

Yes, the full-page mode scrolls or captures content beyond the visible viewport, subject to the page’s layout, loading behavior, and browser policies.
Why would an administrator disable Edge Screenshot?
Managed Edge deployments can control the feature with the WebCaptureEnabled policy, so a work or school browser may omit Screenshot even when the same Edge version offers it on an unmanaged device.
