Adjust the crop guides to include the part you need, save it, and share it to your school’s required submission destination. The feature works on most scrollable screens, but not every phone or webpage offers it.
Take a full-page screenshot with Android’s Capture more feature
- Open the page in Chrome. Scroll to the part of the webpage you want to capture. If your assignment requires the source, note the page title or URL separately.
- Take a regular screenshot. Press Power + Volume down at the same time. On some phones, you can instead press and hold Power, then tap Screenshot. Button behavior can vary by phone.
- Tap Capture more. When the screenshot controls appear, choose Capture more. Drag the crop guides to include the required page content.
- Save and locate the image. Google’s documented location is Photos > Collections > On this device > Screenshots. If your phone does not have Photos, check its Gallery app and Screenshots folder.
- Submit the image. Use the screenshot’s Share control to send it to the destination your school requires. Check the teacher’s file-format instructions first.
Google documents scrolling screenshots for Android 12 and newer on most screens that allow scrolling. That does not guarantee the control will appear on every device, Chrome view, or webpage. Google’s Android screenshot instructions describe the general system workflow; they do not specify a Chrome version threshold.
If Capture more is missing
- Check your Android version and your phone manufacturer’s screenshot guidance. Manufacturers can change screenshot controls.
- Try a different scrollable part of the page. Some page layouts or device/browser views may not expose extended capture.
- Look for a Chrome-specific option by opening the three-dot More menu, choosing Share, and checking for Long screenshot. This route is reported by a secondary how-to, but its availability across current Chrome versions and manufacturers is not established. Do not assume it will be present. The reported Chrome menu route may vary by device.
Make the screenshot useful for a school assignment
- Include only the relevant portion of the webpage, but leave enough context for the reader to understand what the content is.
- Check that text is legible at the size your teacher will view it. If it is too small, capture a shorter section or use more than one screenshot if permitted.
- Include the page title or URL elsewhere in the assignment when required. A screenshot shows page content; it does not replace citing the webpage as a source.
- Follow the assignment’s image and file-format requirements rather than assuming a screenshot is an acceptable submission format.
When an image is not required
If your teacher accepts a document instead of an image and you can use a computer, Chrome’s print preview can save a webpage as a PDF. Google’s instructions for this route describe printing from a computer, not a phone screenshot feature. See Google’s Chrome printing instructions.
