Capture a full page with FireShot in Edge
- Open the webpage. Navigate to the page in Microsoft Edge and let it load.
- Open FireShot. Select the FireShot toolbar button. If its default action is not a full-page capture, open the adjacent arrow or menu and choose the full-page or entire-page command. FireShot also documents starting a capture from its Main Menu or the page’s context menu; labels and controls can vary by version.
- Choose the entire-page mode. Select Capture entire Page or the equivalent full-page option. FireShot describes this mode as capturing page areas that are not visible until you scroll. Capture visible Area captures only the current viewport; Capture Selected area captures a region you choose.
- Review and save. If the installed version offers an editor or review screen, make any desired changes, then save or export using an available format.
Choose a file format
The FireShot listing in Microsoft Edge Add-ons advertises PDF, PNG, and JPEG. FireShot’s usage guide lists PDF, PNG, GIF, JPEG, and BMP. The formats and controls available to you may depend on the edition and version installed, so treat the options shown in FireShot’s current menu as authoritative. The Edge Add-ons listing identifies some additional functions as Pro features; do not assume every export or editing action is available in the free edition.
Use Edge’s built-in capture as a fallback
If you do not need FireShot-specific editing or export actions, Edge has a built-in full-page capture workflow. Microsoft’s instructions, published January 2, 2024, describe this route:
- Open the webpage in Edge.
- Open Settings and more (the ellipsis menu) and choose Web capture, or press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Select Capture full page.
- Review the result and save it to your device. Edge also documents selecting an area, copying the capture, and marking it up.
Edge’s feature availability and controls can change and may vary by region. If the shortcut or menu path is unavailable in your installation, check Edge’s current menus.

Decide which capture route fits
- Use FireShot when you specifically want its capture workflow or an export/editing option available in your installed edition.
- Use Edge Web capture when its built-in full-page capture and basic review, copy, or markup are enough and you would rather not use an extension.
- Check the page itself if either method misses content or fails; full-page capture can behave differently across pages and browser or extension versions, and the cited product guidance does not establish that every page will work.
Troubleshooting
- You only captured what was on screen: choose the entire-page/full-page command rather than Capture visible Area.
- The capture is only part of the page: confirm you selected the entire-page mode, then try the other capture route—FireShot or Edge Web capture. The available documentation does not guarantee successful full-page capture on every page.
- You cannot find a format or editing control: check the installed version’s menu and edition. FireShot’s listing and guide describe different format sets, and the listing identifies additional functions as Pro features.
- FireShot’s toolbar button starts the wrong action: open its adjacent arrow/menu and select the full-page command explicitly; the default action may not be the one you want.
- Edge’s shortcut does not open Web capture: use Settings and more → Web capture instead, if that option is present in your Edge installation.
