Apple documents this workflow for content such as an entire webpage in Safari. The Full Page control is not guaranteed in every app or for every type of scrolling content.
What a full-page screenshot does
A regular screenshot records only what is visible on the display. Full Page extends the capture beyond the current screen so you can keep a long webpage or other supported content in one capture. Apple’s explicit example is a complete webpage in Safari; availability in third-party apps depends on whether the Full Page control appears in the screenshot editor. This is different from taking several ordinary screenshots and stitching them together. iOS creates one scrollable full-page capture that you can inspect, crop and export from the preview.
Take the capture on iOS 26
- Open the content. Go to the webpage or document you want to save. Safari webpages are Apple’s documented example. Scroll to the position from which you want to begin the capture.
- Press the screenshot buttons for your iPhone. Quickly press and release the correct pair from the table below.
- Open the screenshot editor. A thumbnail appears temporarily. Tap it before it disappears.
- Select Full Page. At the top of the editor, tap Full Page. If that tab is not present, the current app or content may not support Apple’s full-page capture mode.
- Inspect the result. Drag through the preview to view content below the visible screen. Use the crop control and its handles if you need to remove part of the page.
- Choose an export. Save an image to Photos or save the full-page capture as a PDF to Files, then select a folder when iOS asks where to put it.
Use the correct button combination

Apple’s button instructions are in its iOS 26 iPhone user guide. Holding the buttons instead of quickly releasing them can trigger a different system action, so use a short simultaneous press.

Save the result as an image or PDF
Save an image to Photos
After checking the long preview and cropping if necessary, choose the image-saving option and let iOS place the capture in Photos. This is useful when you need a picture for reference, markup or sharing in an app that accepts images.
Save a PDF to Files
Choose the PDF option to keep the complete capture as a document in Files. Select a destination such as iCloud Drive or a folder stored on the iPhone when prompted. A PDF is generally the practical choice for a long webpage that you want to read, archive or send as a document.

Crop before exporting
The crop control in the full-page editor lets you trim unwanted margins or remove content above or below the section you need. Drag the handles while viewing the preview, then export only after the boundaries look correct.
What to do if Full Page is missing
Apple documents Full Page for content that exceeds the iPhone screen, with an entire Safari webpage as the named example. Apple does not establish that every third-party app, embedded browser or scrolling surface supports it. If you do not see the tab, try these checks:

- Open the same webpage directly in Safari rather than inside an app’s embedded browser.
- Take a fresh screenshot and tap its thumbnail immediately; the Full Page control belongs to the screenshot editor.
- Confirm that you used the button pair for your hardware design and released it quickly.
- Test another long webpage. If Full Page appears there, the original app or content type is the limiting factor.
- Use ordinary screenshots when the content does not expose a Full Page option; iOS does not promise a full-page result for every scrolling view.
Alternative ways to start a screenshot
The physical-button gesture is the quickest method, but Apple also documents AssistiveTouch, Back Tap and Siri as alternate ways to trigger a screenshot. These methods still produce the normal screenshot preview; choose Full Page there when the current content supports it. Apple’s general instructions and related settings are collected in the official screenshot guide.
Adjust screenshot presentation and HDR behavior
iOS 26 includes screenshot controls under Settings > General > Screen Capture. Apple says you can change how the screenshot preview is presented. The same settings documentation describes the format behavior: screenshots use PNG in SDR and HEIF in HDR, and an HDR display is required to see the full HDR quality. These settings are optional; they are not required to create a full-page capture. Details are in Apple’s screen capture settings guide.

Common problems and fixes
