In Chrome on a desktop, enable Device Mode, set a mobile viewport width, then choose Capture a full size screenshot from DevTools’ More options menu. That captures one image of the page below the fold while using the responsive layout for the selected width. It is different from an ordinary screenshot, which captures only the visible viewport.
Capture a full-page mobile-width screenshot in Chrome
- Open the website in Chrome, then open DevTools.
- Turn on Device Mode by clicking the device toolbar button. The page is now shown in a simulated mobile viewport.
- Choose a device preset or enter a custom viewport width. For a reproducible result, record the width you used; a named phone preset is not required.
- Wait for the page to settle. If it loads images or other content as you scroll, scroll down through the page first to trigger that lazy loading.
- Open DevTools’ More options menu and select Capture a full size screenshot.
- Open the saved image and check for clipped content, missing lazy-loaded elements, sticky or fixed elements, and the intended responsive layout.
Chrome documents Device Mode and its full-size screenshot command in its Device Mode documentation. Device Mode simulates a viewport; it does not guarantee a pixel-for-pixel match for every physical phone, operating system, browser, or display density.
Firefox: use Responsive Design Mode and a full-page capture
- Open the page in Firefox and enable Responsive Design Mode.
- Set the content area to the mobile width you want, using a preset or custom dimensions.
- If the screenshot icon is unavailable, open DevTools settings and enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
- Use the screenshot icon to capture the full page. Alternatively, in the Web Console run
:screenshot screenshot.png --fullpage. - Review the saved image, especially content loaded only after scrolling.
Mozilla describes the full-page screenshot options in its screenshot documentation and responsive viewport behavior in its Responsive Design Mode documentation.
What about Safari?
Safari’s Responsive Design Mode can preview a page at different viewport widths, heights, and display pixel ratios, and can be used with Web Inspector to debug layout. Apple’s cited documentation does not establish a full-page screenshot procedure, so use Chrome or Firefox above when you need a verified browser workflow for capturing the entire page. See Apple’s Responsive Design Mode documentation.

Check the result before using it
- Layout: Confirm the page is using the intended narrow responsive layout, not its desktop arrangement.
- Below-the-fold content: Check that images, cards, and other elements loaded on demand appear. Scroll to trigger lazy loading before capturing when necessary.
- Fixed and sticky elements: Look for navigation bars, chat controls, or banners that overlap content or appear unexpectedly in the full-page image.
- Viewport record: Note the width and browser used if someone else needs to reproduce the screenshot.
Or skip the browser setup
