There is no single Samsung switch that syncs everything. For calls and texts, use Call & text on other devices; for sharing, use Galaxy continuity features; for transferring or restoring data, choose a file-transfer or backup method.
Choose the right way to connect your phone and tablet
Samsung’s options handle different jobs. A transfer moves files, continuity makes selected features available across devices, and a backup is meant to help restore data later. Use this guide to choose the workflow that matches your goal.

Show your phone calls and texts on a Galaxy tablet
Use Call & text on other devices if you want to make or receive calls and messages on a compatible tablet through your phone’s number. Samsung’s cited manual requires both devices to be registered and signed in to the same Samsung account. It also cautions that some calling and messaging features may not be available.
- On both devices, confirm you are signed in to the same Samsung account.
- Open the connected-device settings on the phone and look for Call & text on other devices.
- Enable the feature and follow the prompts on the phone and tablet.
- Test a call or message on the tablet. If the option is missing, check your model’s current settings and support information; the referenced manual is for a specific Galaxy model and region, not a universal compatibility list.
Share files or content between Galaxy devices
Samsung Apps Continuity covers selected experiences across Galaxy devices, including file sharing and copy-and-paste continuity. It is distinct from backing up a device or copying files to a computer. Samsung’s overview does not establish that every phone, tablet, app, or software version supports every continuity feature, so check what appears on your devices.

For moving files to a Windows PC rather than another Galaxy device, Samsung documents USB cable, Bluetooth, and Link to Windows options. For the USB workflow on its support page, choose the phone’s file-transfer mode when prompted, then move files using the PC. That page states a limit of up to 100 files at a time and a maximum of 512 MB per file for its documented USB transfer workflow; verify the current support page for your specific setup.
A wired transfer requires a cable that fits both devices and supports data, not just charging. The cited instructions cover phone-to-PC transfer and do not establish that any particular cable or method works for every phone-and-tablet combination.

Use Phone Link with a Windows PC, not as phone-to-tablet sync
Phone Link and Link to Windows let you access selected phone content and controls from a Windows 10 or 11 PC. Samsung’s setup guidance describes using a Microsoft account; the phone and PC typically need to be on the same network unless mobile-data use is enabled on the phone. Available screens and settings vary by model and software. Samsung says Phone Link is not available on Mac computers.

Back up or move data for later restoration
If you are preparing to switch devices or want a recoverable copy, use a backup or migration workflow rather than expecting live updates between devices. Samsung lists Smart Switch, Samsung Cloud, and Google Drive as backup and restore options. Which data can be saved or restored depends on the service, device, and data type; do not assume every app or category is included.
Samsung’s file-transfer and backup guide outlines its available methods. Check the current instructions for your devices and confirm that important data is included before relying on a backup.

If an option is missing or does not work
- Check device and software support. Samsung warns that feature names, screens, and availability can vary by model, software version, and region.
- For calls and texts, verify the Samsung account. Both devices need the same account for the documented Call & text on other devices feature.
- For a PC transfer, confirm the workflow matches the destination. Samsung’s USB, Bluetooth, and Link to Windows file-transfer guidance covers a Galaxy phone and Windows PC, not every phone-to-tablet pairing.
- For Phone Link, check the PC requirements and connection. Follow Samsung’s current setup instructions for Windows and verify the network or mobile-data setting.
- Use the current model-specific support page. A feature may be absent because the device, region, or software does not support it, not because there is a hidden universal sync switch.
