Use SunSwap on TRON, verify the official JST contract, compare live routes, and keep TRX available for Energy and Bandwidth. There is no single permanent “cheapest” fee: your result depends on the SunSwap version, pool liquidity, price impact, slippage, and the TRX resources your transaction consumes.
What JST is and why the contract matters
JST is a TRC-20 token issued on the TRON network and the governance token of the JUST ecosystem. The official JST information points users to SunSwap V1, V2, or V3 for trading. JustLend DAO documentation lists the canonical JST contract as TCFLL5dx5ZJdKnWuesXxi1VPwjLVmWZZy9.
TRC-20 tokens can share similar symbols, so never approve a token solely because its wallet label says “JST.” Compare the address shown by your wallet and the swap interface with the canonical address above before signing an approval or swap. A different address may represent an unrelated token or a malicious copy.

What actually determines the cost of a JST swap
Separate the exchange rate shown by SunSwap from TRON’s network-resource charges. A route can display an attractive token price while requiring more TRX resources, and a low network charge cannot compensate for poor liquidity or excessive price impact.

No authoritative figure establishes one universal current JST swap fee or slippage percentage. Pool balances, transaction size, and resource pricing change, so use the quote presented immediately before signing rather than an old example.
How to swap JST for TRX or USDT safely
1. Start from a trusted SunSwap entry point
Open the official SunSwap interface through a trusted JUST or SunSwap source. Phishing pages often imitate a familiar layout while replacing the router or token address. Check the domain, wallet connection prompt, and transaction details before interacting.

2. Connect a TRON self-custody wallet
Connect a wallet that supports TRON and TRC-20 assets. Confirm that the wallet is on the TRON Mainnet and that you control the account holding JST. A swap cannot recover funds sent from the wrong network or account.
3. Choose the direction and verify JST
Select JST as the token you are selling and choose TRX or USDT as the output. When the interface asks you to import or confirm JST, compare its address with TCFLL5dx5ZJdKnWuesXxi1VPwjLVmWZZy9. Stop if the symbol, decimals, or address is unexpected.

4. Compare the available route
Review each available SunSwap version and route rather than accepting the first result. Compare the output amount, price impact, slippage setting, and minimum received. For a JST-to-USDT trade, also consider whether a JST-to-TRX route followed by a second conversion would expose you to two price movements and two transactions.
5. Approve only the intended spender and amount
The first interaction may be a TRC-20 approval. Read the wallet prompt: the spender should be the router used for the swap, and the allowance should match the amount you intend to trade. An unfamiliar spender, recipient, token address, or unlimited allowance is a stop condition. Reject the request and return to a verified interface.

Keep TRX in the same account for TRON’s Bandwidth and Energy charges. A token approval and the swap itself can each consume resources. If the wallet indicates insufficient Energy, do not repeatedly submit the transaction; first obtain additional resources or reduce the number of planned transactions.
7. Sign once and wait
Confirm the final amount, minimum received, slippage tolerance, spender, and network in the wallet. Submit once and wait for confirmation. Repeated clicks can create multiple approvals or swaps and consume resources on every attempt.
8. Verify the result on a TRON explorer
Copy the confirmed transaction hash from the wallet and inspect it in a TRON block explorer. Check the status, sender, contract address, input and output tokens, and the amount received. Do not treat a wallet balance refresh or a browser notification as proof until the transaction hash shows successful confirmation.

How much TRX do you need for JST gas?
There is no fixed TRX amount that covers every JST swap. The required amount depends on the transaction’s Energy and Bandwidth consumption, your account’s delegated or staked resources, and the applicable resource price at execution.
Energy
Energy is the principal TRON resource used by smart-contract operations such as TRC-20 approvals and swaps. If your account does not have enough Energy, the network can charge TRX for the deficit. A JustLend DAO support announcement described a pricing adjustment that reduced the energy cost from 210 sun to 100 sun in that context. That historical adjustment is not a guaranteed current total cost: resource prices, contract execution, and account resources can change.
Bandwidth
Bandwidth covers transaction data and is also part of the resource calculation. A transaction can have enough Energy yet still require TRX for Bandwidth if the account’s available allowance is insufficient.
Practical funding rule
- Fund the wallet with more TRX than the interface’s immediate estimate, especially when you must perform both an approval and a swap.
- Leave a reserve for a second transaction if the first approval succeeds but the swap needs a separate signature.
- Do not send your entire TRX balance into the trade; the account needs TRX to pay any resource deficit and to recover from an ordinary retry.
The live wallet prompt is the best estimate for that transaction. Treat any static “gas amount” found in an old guide as an example, not a guarantee.
Using Energy rental for a batch of TRC-20 transactions
If you plan several approvals or swaps and lack Energy, JustLend documentation describes an Energy-rental marketplace on TRON Mainnet. Rental is prepaid in TRX, can run for up to 30 days, and has documented refund conditions for unused resources.

- Estimate the Energy needed for the complete batch rather than renting for a single click.
- Review the rental duration, prepaid TRX amount, and refund terms shown by the marketplace.
- Confirm that the rental is for the correct TRON Mainnet account.
- After the rental is active, check the wallet’s resource display before submitting the approval and swap.
Rental can reduce the amount of TRX burned for resource deficits, but it does not improve a bad exchange rate or remove price impact. Compare the rental cost with the direct TRX charge for your actual transaction plan.
Choosing between JST/TRX and JST/USDT
JST to TRX
A JST/TRX route is useful when you want native TRX or expect to use TRX for subsequent network charges. Check whether the pool has enough depth for your order and whether the quoted output remains acceptable after price impact.
JST to USDT
A JST/USDT route gives you a stable-value denomination, but its liquidity and quote can differ from JST/TRX. Compare the direct output with any alternative route shown by SunSwap and include the extra network transaction if a multi-step conversion is required.
How to make the comparison
- Enter the same JST amount in each candidate route.
- Record the quoted output and price-impact percentage.
- Check slippage tolerance and minimum received.
- Add the TRX resource cost for every approval and swap in the route.
- Choose the route with an acceptable net result, not merely the largest headline output.
Slippage, price impact, and minimum received
Price impact is the movement caused by your order against the available pool liquidity. It generally rises as the order becomes large relative to the pool.

Minimum received translates that tolerance into an amount. Before signing, confirm that the displayed minimum is still acceptable in the output token. If the quote changes materially while you are reviewing it, refresh the route instead of approving an outdated transaction.
Common failure messages and recovery steps
Insufficient Energy or Bandwidth
Do not keep retrying. Add TRX, obtain the required resources, or use an Energy rental for a planned batch. Then resubmit from the confirmed interface.
Slippage or “execution reverted”
The quote may have moved, liquidity may be insufficient, or the tolerance may be too tight. Recheck the pool, reduce the trade size, and set a tolerance that matches the market conditions. Never solve a revert by blindly setting an extreme tolerance.

Wait for the approval confirmation, refresh the token balance, and verify that the router is still the intended spender. A separate swap transaction may be required; fund it with additional TRX resources before signing.
Unknown token or wrong contract
Cancel the interaction. Verify the JST address against TCFLL5dx5ZJdKnWuesXxi1VPwjLVmWZZy9 and reopen SunSwap from a trusted source. Do not attempt to “test” an unfamiliar token with a small amount.
Transaction appears stuck
Use the transaction hash in a TRON block explorer. If it is pending, wait for a definitive status rather than submitting duplicates. If it failed, inspect the failure reason and correct the resource, route, or slippage issue before trying once.
Balance has not updated
Check the confirmed transaction’s token output and recipient address first. A wallet may need a manual balance refresh or token import even though the swap succeeded on-chain.

- You are signing one transaction from the verified interface, not responding to an unsolicited wallet prompt.
Bottom line: the lowest-fee safe method
For most users, the safest low-cost process is to compare the live JST/TRX and JST/USDT routes across the available SunSwap versions, select the pool with acceptable liquidity and minimum received, verify the canonical JST contract, and fund the wallet with enough TRX for both Energy and Bandwidth. Use Energy rental only when its prepaid terms make sense for your planned transaction batch. Confirm the transaction hash on-chain and never trade away contract-address or spender verification for a slightly better quote.
