Subscribing to a blog by email sends notifications about new posts to your inbox. Enter your address in the blog’s subscription form, complete any confirmation step, and use the provider’s management or unsubscribe link if you later want to change or stop delivery.

What an email subscription does

A blog-post subscription normally delivers an email when the blog publishes a new article. The message may contain the headline, an excerpt, and a link to read the full post. Delivery timing depends on the blog’s software and settings; do not assume every site sends messages immediately or on a fixed schedule.

How to subscribe

  1. Find a form labeled “Subscribe,” “Follow by email,” or similar.
  2. Enter the requested information. Some forms ask only for an email address; others request your name as well.
  3. Submit the form.
  4. Check your inbox, and your spam or junk folder, for a confirmation message if the service uses confirmed opt-in.
  5. Open the confirmation message and select its confirmation link. Notifications generally will not begin until this step is completed.

After subscribing, keep the confirmation or notification email available. It usually contains the link needed to unsubscribe or manage delivery.

Email notifications, RSS, and newsletters are different

Option Where updates arrive Typical content What to check
Blog email subscription Email inbox Alerts about individual new posts Whether delivery is immediate, scheduled, or configurable
RSS feed RSS or feed-reader app Posts collected in the reader Whether the feed includes full articles or excerpts
Newsletter or mailing list Email inbox A roundup, editorial message, or other mailing-list content Its stated frequency and purpose

A “follow this blog” form is not automatically a newsletter signup. Read the wording beside the form: a service may offer separate choices for new-post alerts and a monthly or periodic roundup.

#1 Best Overall
Power Failure Detector with Text Message and Email Alerts. Sends SMS Power Outage Alarms and Restoration Alerts to Two Phones.
  • The original power outage alert system: This device, built by Bell Labs engineers to protect their homes, notifies of power outages.
  • Security away from home: You will never again have to ask, "Is my power out?" or "Is there a power outage in my area?"
  • Immediate detection: You will be alerted of a power failure in your home or business within seconds of the event. You will receive separate alerts for power outages and power restoration.
  • WiFi-enabled: Connect the MySpool Power Failure Detector to your home WiFi to begin receiving text messages, emails, or push notifications during power failures and power restoration.
  • Multiple phone numbers and email addresses: Add 2 phone numbers and up to 5 email addresses per device for seamless notifications to multiple people—keep everyone who needs to be in the know!

Can you choose how often emails arrive?

Only if that particular service provides the setting. Some blog-following systems have offered immediate, daily, or weekly delivery, while others send one notification for every new post and provide no frequency choice. Look for a preferences or subscription-management link in the email or on the blog before assuming a schedule is available.

How to change or stop the emails

Use the unsubscribe link

Open a notification email and select its unsubscribe link. Follow the confirmation screen, if shown. This normally ends that subscription without affecting unrelated newsletters from the same organization.

Risinglink WiFi Power Outage Alarm Detector, Power Failure & Restoration Alerts with SMS Text, Email & Audible Alarm
  • ENGINEERED IN THE USA EASY SETUP : Engineered in the USA for reliability and supported by a dedicated US-based team. No hubs, apps, subscriptions, or monthly fees required. Risinglink delivers direct SMS text, email, and audible alerts without relying on third-party smart-home platforms. Works with 2.4GHz WiFi networks (not compatible with 5GHz-only networks).
  • INSTANT POWER OUTAGE ALERTS: Detects power failures in as little as 3 seconds and immediately sends alerts. Even brief power interruptions are detected, helping you identify abnormal power conditions and take preventive action before they happen again. You will also receive an alert when power is restored.
  • TRUE SMS TEXT MESSAGE ALERTS: Receive direct SMS text alerts, not just app push notifications that can be missed if apps are logged out or notifications are disabled. Supports up to 2 phone numbers and 4 email addresses, so multiple people can receive outage alerts at the same time.
  • OPTIMIZED TEXT ALERTS: We believe in timely alerts. Unlike competitors who impose intervals or monthly caps on direct text alerts, Risinglink ensures you receive every text alert promptly. If your outlet experiences multiple trips in a short period, other systems might only send the initial text alerts, potentially delaying or missing the most critical last power outage alert. With Risinglink, there are no such hidden limitations, ensuring you stay fully informed.
  • LOCAL AUDIBLE ALARM + LONG BACKUP BATTERY: An integrated 85 dB audible alarm sounds immediately during power outages, even without Wi-Fi, providing an additional layer of protection. The alarm can be disabled during setup if preferred. The pre-installed backup battery is designed to last over 5 years under typical usage, ensuring reliable monitoring.

Change preferences

If the message includes “manage subscription,” “email preferences,” or similar wording, open it to review available frequency or address settings. The controls vary by provider.

If you never receive a confirmation

  • Check spam, junk, promotions, and quarantine folders.
  • Search for the blog name or terms such as “confirm subscription.”
  • Make sure the address was entered correctly.
  • Try the form again only after checking whether a confirmation is already pending.
  • Contact the site if the form reports an error or provides no way to resend confirmation.

What to check before signing up

  • Purpose: Confirm that the form promises new-post notifications rather than a separate newsletter.
  • Frequency: Look for an explicit schedule or preference control.
  • Information requested: Note whether the form asks for only an email address or also your name.
  • Confirmation: Be prepared to verify your address before messages start.
  • Exit method: Verify that emails include a working unsubscribe or management link.

Bottom line

“Subscribe to blog posts by email” means the blog will send new-post notices to your inbox. The exact signup fields, confirmation requirement, message frequency, and management controls belong to that blog’s email system, so check its wording and use the links in its own messages to adjust or end delivery.
