To subscribe, open the Apple TV app, select Apple TV+, review the offer and billing details shown for your account, and follow the prompts. A free trial is not guaranteed: eligibility, offers and availability vary. To avoid renewal, Apple says to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends. Cancel through the company that bills you.
How to subscribe to Apple TV+
On iPhone, Apple’s signup steps are to open the Apple TV app, tap Apple TV+, tap the subscription button, review any offer shown and the subscription details, then follow the onscreen instructions. The offer screen is the place to confirm whether you qualify for a free trial and what the subscription will cost afterward. Apple does not establish one trial length or price that applies to every account, offer and region. Apple’s iPhone subscription guide also notes that Apple TV services are not available in every country or region.
When to cancel to avoid a charge
Apple Support advises: “If you signed up for a trial subscription and you don’t want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.” Check the end date in your subscription details and leave enough time before that cutoff. Apple’s cancellation guidance includes the timing rule and instructions for finding and ending subscriptions.
Cancel an Apple-billed subscription
On iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then Apple TV+.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm if prompted.
If Cancel Subscription is not shown, or you see an expiration message, Apple says the subscription is already cancelled.

On the web or another device
Apple also provides a web cancellation flow. On a Mac or Windows PC, subscriptions can be managed through the App Store or the Apple TV or Apple Music app, depending on the setup. Follow Apple’s device and web cancellation instructions for the route available to you.
If Apple TV+ is missing from Subscriptions
The subscription may be under a different Apple Account or billed by another provider. Check the receipt or invoice in your email to identify the account and billing company. If you cannot find an Apple receipt, check the card or bank statement for the charge.

- If a family member’s Apple Account is billed, that account holder must cancel.
- If a carrier or another provider bills the subscription, cancel through that provider.
- If you subscribed through Google Play, use the Google Play cancellation controls rather than Apple’s Apple Account subscriptions list.
Cancel an Apple TV subscription billed through Google Play
On Android, open the Apple TV app and go to Manage Subscriptions. Apple says this flow opens Google Play’s controls for a subscription subscribed to and billed through Google Play. Complete the cancellation there. Apple’s Android subscription guide explains this billing route.
Offers and regional differences
Do not assume a particular free-trial duration or post-trial price: check the terms displayed during signup for your account. Eligibility and offers can vary, and Apple TV services are unavailable in some regions. Cancellation rules can also differ in some jurisdictions; Apple’s US cancellation page identifies special circumstances for Germany, Israel, South Africa and Türkiye.
