You can build a recurring Indian devotional radio schedule on YouTube by creating a live event in YouTube Studio, connecting an encoder with the stream URL and key, and scheduling timed program blocks. A continuous schedule is not the same as a guaranteed, uninterrupted 24/7 YouTube event: YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but the cited guidance does not establish a single-event 24/7 guarantee. Plan for handoffs, monitoring, and rights clearance before you launch.
What you need before you start
An encoder-based broadcast is suited to a radio-style program, particularly if you are bringing in external audio or video hardware. YouTube also supports mobile and webcam streams, but those approaches may not suit a planned, recurring audio program as well.
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours.
- An encoder or compatible broadcasting setup to send your program to YouTube.
- Audio and any visuals you have the rights to broadcast, organized into timed program blocks.
- A published schedule with a clearly identified timezone; use Indian Standard Time (IST) when addressing listeners in India.
- A plan for monitoring the feed and handling interruptions or transitions between broadcasts.

How to set up and schedule the YouTube broadcast
- Enable live streaming. Verify channel eligibility and turn on live streaming in YouTube Studio. If this is the channel’s first time streaming, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- Create or schedule the event. In YouTube Studio, create a live stream or schedule one for the next program block. Enter a clear title and description, and state the schedule timezone explicitly. YouTube’s stream settings guidance covers scheduling and stream setup; a scheduled stream can help viewers find the event and receive reminders.
- Copy the connection details. Open the event’s encoder settings and copy the stream URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key as private; do not publish it with your schedule or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to the channel.
- Configure the program feed. Add the audio and any visuals to the encoder or production workflow. If you use external audio or video equipment, check that the encoder receives the intended inputs before starting the event.
- Start sending the feed and check the preview. Wait for YouTube Studio to show the incoming stream, then review the preview for the expected audio and picture before going live.
- Go live and monitor continuously. YouTube advises broadcasters to “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” Assign someone to watch the feed and respond to problems rather than assuming the broadcast will remain healthy on its own.

Build a schedule listeners can follow
Publish clear times and timezone
List each program block with its start time, name, and timezone. If your intended audience is in India, label times as IST rather than leaving listeners to infer the timezone. YouTube scheduling can promote an upcoming stream and let viewers set reminders.
Plan for transitions, not just playlists
For a recurring schedule, decide how one block gives way to the next, who checks that the transition worked, and what listeners will hear if a source or connection fails. Keep the public schedule aligned with the actual program so a change does not leave viewers waiting for a block that has moved.

Use established stations as programming references
Official Indian devotional services can help you understand how stations describe their programming and organize listening options. Prasar Bharati’s current service page lists 17 AIR channels as live-streamed through its website and app; that count is a page snapshot and may change. Prasar Bharati livestreaming services include Raagam and regional-language services. Other examples are Kripalu Bhakti Dhara Radio, whose page describes 24/7 devotional songs and lectures and displays a schedule in IST; Radio Satyatmavani, which describes devotional broadcasting with bhajans, pravachanas, and spiritual programs; and SVBC, which describes spiritual content in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi around the clock. Check each service’s current schedule and availability directly.

Can one YouTube stream run continuously 24/7?
Do not treat a 24/7 program schedule as proof that one YouTube live event can run without interruption for 24 hours or longer. YouTube’s encoder help says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement describes archiving for streams under 12 hours; it does not say that longer streams cannot run, and it does not establish an uninterrupted 24/7 single-event guarantee.
Before launch, check the current controls and guidance in YouTube Studio and design for handoffs between events if your schedule depends on recurring broadcasts. Keep a transition plan that accounts for the encoder, network connection, and someone responsible for monitoring the feed. YouTube’s encoder instructions and live-streaming tips are the relevant starting points.

Clear music and content rights before broadcasting
The channel operator is responsible for holding the rights needed for live content, including music. Religious or devotional subject matter does not make a copyrighted song or recording free to rebroadcast. The permissions required can depend on the composition, recording, performers or contributors, and territories in which the stream is available.
YouTube says third-party matches can interrupt live streams. Even where you have a licence, a stream may be interrupted if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel through Content ID. Resolve permissions and any required allowlisting with the relevant rights holders before going live, and retain records of the permissions that cover the content and territories you intend to serve. Choose an encoder approach that fits the production
YouTube describes both software and hardware encoder approaches. A software encoder may suit a straightforward setup; dedicated hardware can be relevant when a broadcast uses external audio/video inputs or calls for a more involved production workflow. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events, but that does not mean every devotional radio channel needs to buy one.
Compare options against the inputs you need, compatibility with your workflow, the team’s ability to monitor the stream, failover needs, production complexity, and operating cost. YouTube’s live-streaming tips and encoder instructions discuss the categories; they do not establish compatibility for a specific product.
Troubleshoot common broadcast problems
- Live streaming is not available yet: Confirm that the channel is verified and has no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the first activation, it can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube Studio does not receive the encoder feed: Check that the stream URL and stream key were copied from the intended event and entered into the matching encoder fields. Confirm the encoder is sending the intended input, then check Studio again for a preview.
- The preview has no sound or the wrong sound: Check the encoder’s selected audio input and the external audio connection, if used. Listen to the Studio preview before taking the event live.
- A scheduled program is late or has changed: Update the public schedule and event details, including the timezone, and ensure the person monitoring the broadcast knows the revised transition plan.
- The live stream is interrupted after a copyright match: Review the affected material and permissions. If you have a licence, confirm with the rights holder whether channel allowlisting through Content ID is required; licensing alone does not ensure that automated matching will not interrupt the stream.
- A single stream ends or needs a handoff: Do not infer a universal maximum duration from YouTube’s under-12-hour archive statement. Check current Studio guidance and use your prepared transition procedure to continue the schedule.
