To keep a recorded wedding venue showcase live on YouTube around the clock, send the video or playlist to YouTube Live through an encoder. With OBS Studio, the computer running the encoder and its internet connection must stay online. A cloud encoder can play uploaded media remotely instead. First confirm that the channel can stream, clear the rights to every part of the video, and decide how you will handle a replay: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as an archive.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified and eligible for live streaming. YouTube’s getting-started guidance says the channel must have had no live-streaming restriction during the previous 90 days. Check eligibility in YouTube Studio before scheduling. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming
- A finished showcase video or playlist, checked for picture, sound, orientation, black sections, and transitions.
- An encoder path: a computer running OBS Studio or a cloud encoder that delivers the video to YouTube.
- Permission to stream the footage, music, and other third-party material included in the showcase.

Choose where the video will play
Run OBS Studio on a local computer
OBS lets you load the recording or arrange sources into a scene and send the output to YouTube. This keeps the video and stream controls in your hands, but the computer and its network connection remain part of the broadcast path for as long as the stream runs. Plan for reliable power, a stable connection, and someone who can check the broadcast. Use a cloud encoder
A cloud encoder plays media you upload and sends the feed to YouTube remotely, so a computer at the venue or at home does not need to stay in the stream path. Compare services on playlist controls, recovery behavior, monitoring, account access, storage, price, and support. A provider’s feature descriptions are not independent uptime or quality findings.

Set up the YouTube broadcast and encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and check live access. Confirm channel verification and that there is no live-stream restriction from the prior 90 days. - Create or schedule the stream in Live Control Room. Set an accurate title and description, select the appropriate category and audience setting, choose public, unlisted, or private visibility, and add a suitable thumbnail. - Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder. Use the stream URL and private key supplied in YouTube’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast. Do not post it or include it in public screenshots. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings
- Load and check the showcase. In OBS, add the video as a source or build the intended scene and playlist. In a cloud encoder, upload the media and configure the playback order and looping. Watch the material through before launch to catch missing audio, unintended gaps, black frames, or abrupt transitions.
- Start the encoder and inspect YouTube’s preview and stream health. Confirm that the expected picture and sound appear in Live Control Room, then make the broadcast live using the scheduled-stream controls. Check the actual public playback and continue monitoring the stream rather than assuming that a successful encoder start means viewers see the right output. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings

Plan for continuity and replay separately
A continuously running broadcast and a complete replay archive are not the same thing. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Keep a local copy of the showcase if you need an archive. If viewers must be able to replay the presentation, consider a planned sequence of shorter broadcasts and verify the archive workflow before relying on it. YouTube Help: Archive live streams

Clear rights before going live
Confirm that you have permission to stream the showcase recording, music, vendor material, third-party footage, branding, and any other material in the video. Music heard during the original wedding or venue shoot is not automatically cleared for YouTube streaming. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can lead to a warning, a placeholder replacing the stream, interruption, or termination. For licensed third-party material, the rights owner may need to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist; having a license alone may not prevent an interruption. A stream being continuously live does not guarantee reach, revenue, or monetization eligibility. YouTube applies its monetization policies to live streams; its policy says monetized content must be original and authentic, and repetitive or mass-produced content may be ineligible.
