PRISM Live Studio Mobile supports using a video from your phone’s photo gallery or a video playlist in a YouTube live setup. Add the media to My Studio, prepare the YouTube broadcast in PRISM, check the preview, and go live. PRISM’s published guide confirms these capabilities but does not document the current exact taps for starting video playback, so menu names and steps may vary by app version and operating system.
Choose a single video or a video playlist
Use a single media video when you want to broadcast one recording. Use a video playlist when you want to set up a sequence of recordings. PRISM documents both gallery media and video playlists for My Studio, but its published guide does not establish whether playback loops, how transitions work, or which file formats and durations are supported.
Before starting, make sure the recording is available in your phone’s photo gallery. PRISM’s Getting Started with PRISM Mobile guide describes retrieving media, including videos, from the gallery and adding it to My Studio. Use the current app interface to confirm the exact controls on your device.
Add the video to My Studio
- Open PRISM Live Studio Mobile and locate My Studio.
- Add the video from your device’s photo gallery, or create or select a video playlist. PRISM documents both options, but its guide does not confirm the precise current tap sequence.
- Check the selected media in the app before proceeding. Confirm that it is the intended recording and that its audio is present.
Keep the playback setup to one type. PRISM’s Source Usage Limit Guide lists video, music, music playlist, video playlist, and image playlist as playback features that cannot be combined. For this workflow, use either one video media item or one video playlist—not multiple playback feature types at once.

Prepare the YouTube live stream in PRISM
- In PRISM, choose a live mode and enter the stream details and settings. PRISM’s Streaming to YouTube guide describes the general flow: prepare the broadcast, set its details, and press Go Live.
- If you want to schedule the broadcast in advance, create it in YouTube Live Dashboard using the “Streaming software” option. PRISM says a scheduled stream created through YouTube’s “Webcam” workflow is not supported when starting it from the app. Follow PRISM’s YouTube Webcam Streams Are Unsupported guidance, then select the scheduled stream in PRISM.
- Before going live, check the preview and verify that the intended video and audio are playing. Treat this as a practical check; the cited PRISM guides do not describe it as a specific app feature.
- When the setup is ready, press Go Live in PRISM.
Protect the stream from copyright interruptions
Only use video and audio for which you have the rights needed to livestream on YouTube. YouTube states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it detects a match, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the content; leaving it in place can lead to temporary interruption or termination. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
A licence does not necessarily prevent an interruption by itself. YouTube advises rights holders to allowlist the channel through Content ID when third-party content is licensed. If the rights holder has not done so, a licensed broadcast may still be interrupted.

Troubleshoot a stream that will not start
- Scheduled stream fails in PRISM: Check that you created it with YouTube’s “Streaming software” option, not “Webcam,” and that PRISM has the correct scheduled item selected.
- Playback setup cannot use the sources you added: Remove extra playback feature types and keep just one, such as a video playlist or a single video.
- YouTube does not allow the broadcast to begin: Check the channel’s live-stream eligibility and the current status in YouTube Studio’s live dashboard. PRISM’s YouTube Streaming Cannot Be Started troubleshooting page describes cases involving a 24-hour wait after channel verification and a 50-subscriber restriction affecting third-party stream creation through YouTube’s API. These conditions can change and may depend on the channel or circumstances; confirm the current requirements in YouTube rather than assuming either threshold applies to every failed stream.
- Video or audio format, duration, or playback behavior is unclear: The cited PRISM guide does not specify supported formats, duration limits, looping, or transitions. Check the current app’s guidance and test the chosen media before scheduling an important broadcast.
