To run a pre-recorded playlist as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast without leaving your computer on, use a cloud streaming service that accepts uploaded videos or playlists, then connect it to YouTube with your stream URL and stream key. YouTube treats this as an encoder feed—not as an ordinary YouTube playlist. For the simplest cloud-first route, StreamNeo lets you upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; it loops the videos from the cloud.
What a 24/7 pre-recorded YouTube stream involves
A normal YouTube playlist is a collection of published videos viewers watch on demand. A 24/7 live stream is different: a streaming service plays your recordings in sequence and sends the resulting video feed to YouTube using the channel’s stream URL and key. Viewers watch one ongoing Live broadcast, even though its source is pre-recorded material.
The cloud platform does the continuous playback and sending. Once configured, your home computer does not need to remain on for the stream to continue. Before choosing a service, check whether it supports continuous playlist playback—not just one scheduled pre-recorded broadcast—and confirm its current file, resolution, scheduling, recovery, storage, and price limits.
Choose a cloud approach
For this specific use case, these options differ in how directly their documented workflows address continuous prerecorded streaming. Service capabilities and prices can change; check the linked current product documentation before committing.

| Option | Fit for a continuous prerecorded playlist | What is established |
|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | Direct fit for a YouTube channel that needs an always-on loop from the cloud. | Upload a recording or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. It runs from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day with no card. |
| Gyre | The clearest documented alternative in YouTube’s encoder directory for 24/7 prerecorded streams. | YouTube describes it as a cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded-streaming tool that does not require a dedicated PC. Those are listing claims, not a guarantee of uptime or results. Verify its current plans, limits, and operation. |
| AWS Elemental MediaLive | Technical live-video processing option; the cited YouTube directory does not present it as a simple playlist scheduler. | YouTube lists it among verified encoders and describes it as broadcast-grade live video processing. The directory does not establish a turnkey workflow for looping an uploaded playlist. |
| StreamYard | Useful for scheduled prerecorded broadcasts, but the cited documentation does not establish it as a continuous 24/7 playlist service. | Its help pages document prerecorded streaming to YouTube and scheduling prerecorded streams up to 365 days ahead. Confirm whether that workflow meets your needs for continuous playback. |

Prepare your channel, playlist, and stream key
Enable livestreaming before your launch date
Check that live streaming is enabled for the YouTube channel you intend to use. YouTube says a first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours. Channel verification is required, and a channel with a livestream restriction in the previous 90 days may not be eligible. Review YouTube’s live-stream eligibility requirements and encoder setup guidance before scheduling a launch.

Prepare only material you are allowed to stream
Gather the video files you want the cloud service to loop and check that you have the rights needed to broadcast every element, including music, performances, artwork, and other third-party material. A file being available online or in your possession does not by itself grant livestreaming rights.
Create the YouTube broadcast and protect its key
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room. Create a new live stream or schedule one. Scheduling can create an upcoming watch page for viewers.
- Find the stream URL and stream key in the live stream settings. The precise screen can depend on the stream workflow; use YouTube’s current live stream settings instructions.
- Copy the URL and key into the cloud service’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the key as a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel. Do not post it publicly or include it in screenshots.
- Keep the stream’s status and preview visible during setup. Confirm that the cloud service is sending the intended feed and that YouTube receives it before starting the broadcast.
Run the playlist from a cloud platform
- Select a service that supports the workflow you need. Confirm it can loop multiple prerecorded files continuously if that is essential; a tool that schedules a single prerecorded broadcast may not provide 24/7 playlist automation.
- Upload your recordings or create the playlist. Check the service’s current supported formats, file-size limits, and resolution limits. These vary by provider and are not established by YouTube’s encoder directory.
- Connect the YouTube destination. Add the stream URL and key from YouTube’s Live Control Room. If the service offers a direct account connection instead, follow its current instructions and verify the selected channel.
- Choose the broadcast start behavior. If you have a scheduled YouTube event, align the cloud service’s start time with it. For a continuous channel, check whether the service starts immediately, loops the playlist automatically, and can recover if the YouTube connection drops.
- Review the outgoing preview and start the cloud stream. Confirm picture, sound, playlist order, and the YouTube Live status. Keep an eye on the first minutes of the broadcast so you can catch a wrong destination, muted audio, or a stalled feed.
YouTube’s encoder guidance lists Gyre for 24/7 prerecorded streaming. Its listing makes it a relevant option to evaluate, but does not establish current pricing, file limits, service-level commitments, or guaranteed recovery behavior. Check those details directly with the provider.

Rights, interruptions, archives, and monetization
Copyright can stop an otherwise valid stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects matching material that remains in the broadcast, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even if you have licensed the material, YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist or the stream can still be interrupted. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for required rights on the channel operator, including music licensing rights. Read the livestream terms and resolve licensing or allowlisting requirements before starting a long-running broadcast.

Do not rely on YouTube to archive a stream longer than 12 hours
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be archived. If you need a complete copy, retain a separate local or cloud archive rather than relying on the live replay. See YouTube’s live stream archiving guidance.
Live status and watch time do not guarantee monetization
YouTube’s channel monetization rules apply to livestreams. The channel is assessed for original, authentic content; repetitive or mass-produced material may be ineligible. Reused-content review is separate from copyright permission, so having permission to stream something does not by itself guarantee that the channel qualifies for monetization. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
Troubleshoot a cloud-powered YouTube live stream
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream. | Livestreaming has not been enabled, the channel is not verified, or a restriction affects eligibility. | Check the channel’s live-stream eligibility in YouTube Help. If this is the first enablement, allow up to 24 hours for activation. |
| YouTube does not receive a feed. | The wrong stream URL or key was entered, the wrong channel or event is selected, or the cloud service has not started sending. | Compare the destination settings with the active YouTube Live Control Room stream settings, then check the provider’s connection status and YouTube preview. Replace a key if you believe it has been exposed. |
| The broadcast begins, then gets interrupted. | YouTube may have detected third-party content, or the connection between the cloud platform and YouTube may have dropped. | Check YouTube notifications and copyright status. For licensed material, ask the rights owner whether the channel must be Content ID allowlisted. Separately review the cloud provider’s reconnect or recovery status. |
| The same clip repeats, the playlist stops, or the wrong video plays. | The playlist order, repeat setting, or media upload may not match your intended schedule. | Check the cloud playlist order and loop settings, then verify each uploaded file and preview the feed. Confirm the service supports continuous multi-file playback rather than only scheduled single-video streams. |
| The live replay is missing or incomplete. | The broadcast may have exceeded YouTube’s 12-hour archive threshold. | Use a separate recording or archive for a complete copy; do not assume YouTube will save a continuous stream longer than 12 hours. |
| The stream is live but the channel is not eligible for monetization. | Being live and accruing watch time do not override channel-level originality, authenticity, or reused-content reviews. | Review the channel’s overall content against YouTube’s monetization policies. Assess reused-content eligibility separately from copyright permission. |
