First confirm that your channel can go live and that you have the necessary rights to every recording and visual; then create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, connect the encoder with your stream key, and monitor the preview and stream health. The encoder can run on a computer, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service built for continuous prerecorded streams—but no setup guarantees uninterrupted operation indefinitely.
Before you start: check channel eligibility and content rights
Make sure the channel can livestream
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned start. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.
Clear every song and visual for livestream use
You are responsible for having the rights needed to use the live content, including music licensing rights. YouTube’s livestream terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” Read the YouTube Terms of Service.
For each Tamil devotional track, check the specific sound recording, composition or arrangement, performance, and any accompanying video or image. A devotional or traditional song is not automatically free to rebroadcast: rights can differ between the underlying work and a particular recording or audiovisual version. Confirm that your permission covers the intended territories and livestream use.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, and continued use can lead to interruption or termination. If you have a license, the rights owner may still need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the stream to avoid interruptions. YouTube explains this in its copyright guidance for live streams.
Prepare the playlist and choose where it will run
Organize the audio and visuals
Assemble only material you are authorized to broadcast. Decide whether the stream will show a still image, a visual loop, or a video for each song, and ensure those visuals are cleared too. Check that transitions do not introduce silence, abrupt cuts, or unintended material. Keep a record of the permissions and any allowlisting confirmation you receive.

Choose an encoder path
YouTube accepts streams from encoder software or standalone hardware. Its encoder guidance also lists a cloud-based tool category for continuous 24/7 streams of prerecorded videos. Software can be a practical starting point; hardware is optional, not a YouTube requirement. A local encoder depends on its device and internet connection remaining available. Cloud hosting can avoid relying on a computer at home, but check the provider’s current playlist workflow, supported settings, regional availability, recovery controls, and terms before choosing it.
Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and choose the encoder option. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide if the current interface labels differ.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both in the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not share it publicly or place it in a public playlist description.
- Configure the video and audio output. Set a resolution and frame rate your encoder and upload connection can sustain. Use YouTube’s recommended encoder settings as a starting point, not a promise of stability.
- Start sending the feed and inspect the preview. In Live Control Room, confirm the expected video and audio arrive before making the stream public or beginning the scheduled broadcast.
- Check the watch page and monitor stream health. Confirm viewers can access the stream, then watch for warnings, dropped frames, audio problems, or interruptions. Keep a recovery plan for encoder, power, and network failures.
Recommended encoder settings and upload capacity
YouTube’s current settings guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingestion, with AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS, an encrypted extension of RTMP. Consult its live encoder settings for the complete, resolution- and frame-rate-specific table.

For examples from YouTube’s H.264 recommendations, the target is 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 6 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps. Those figures are YouTube recommendations, not guarantees: the encoder, competing network traffic, and actual upload capacity affect whether a stream remains stable. Choose a bitrate your connection can sustain consistently rather than setting it solely to the maximum possible rate. Test the complete signal path before relying on it for a long broadcast.
Test the stream and plan for recovery
- Run a test feed and inspect both the Live Control Room preview and the public watch page.
- Listen for clipping, silence, uneven levels, or audio-video sync problems; check that the image and playlist transition as intended.
- Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators during the test and after launch. A successful preview confirms that a feed is arriving at that moment; it does not prove that the setup will stay online indefinitely.
- If you use a backup encoder, test failover before you need it. YouTube’s live-streaming tips include testing a backup encoder where one is configured.
- For a local setup, account for power, operating-system updates, encoder crashes, and internet outages. For a cloud setup, verify the provider’s recovery behavior and support arrangements rather than assuming all services work alike.
Understand the 24/7 replay limitation
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The cited guidance does not establish that one uninterrupted stream longer than 12 hours will yield a complete replay. If a full archive matters, plan stream segments shorter than 12 hours and verify the resulting archives in YouTube Studio. Segmenting requires planned restarts, so it can interrupt the continuous broadcast; weigh the archive need against that trade-off. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.
