A JioFiber plan’s advertised speed does not establish that your particular setup can stream continuously. Test the real setup at the quality you plan to use, leave upload headroom, and plan separately for interruptions and recording a replay.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified, has live streaming enabled, and has had no livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. You must be at least 16. First-time activation can take time, so check eligibility before your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility and setup guidance.
- A computer running an encoder such as OBS, with enough capacity for your chosen resolution, frame rate, scene, and audio. OBS notes that meeting its basic system requirements alone does not guarantee that a particular machine can stream a particular workload: OBS system requirements.
- Rain footage and audio that you created or are authorized to broadcast, plus a stable visual/audio loop.
- A reliable network path from the streaming computer to YouTube, tested at the intended quality. JioFiber service availability and actual performance depend on your location and connection; its plan information is at JioFiber.
Choose a stream quality your connection can sustain
Use YouTube’s bitrate figures as encoder starting points, not as JioFiber speed promises. They are recommendations for H.264 encoding; measure upload from the computer and network path that will actually broadcast, then choose a bitrate with spare capacity for normal variation. A single speed test cannot prove a connection will remain stable for a day.

These are the published recommendations in YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance, accessed in 2026. The guide also covers H.264, H.265, and AV1 video options, up to 60 fps, constant bitrate (CBR), AAC or MP3 audio, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. For encrypted contribution to YouTube, use RTMPS where your encoder supports it. Check YouTube’s live guide again when configuring a broadcast because recommendations and controls can change.
Set up the rain video and encoder
Prepare a loop that can run unattended
- Choose the rain visuals and sound you intend to use, and make sure the loop does not rely on an editor, browser tab, or media file that will disappear when the session runs for a long time.
- Set up the scene in OBS or another compatible encoder. Confirm the source loops cleanly, audio is present at an appropriate level, and the machine can render the chosen resolution and frame rate without overload.
- If you are recording locally as well as streaming, check that the recording destination has enough available space for the intended duration. Storage needs depend on bitrate, recording duration, and format; there is no single capacity that fits every setup.
Create the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule an encoder stream using YouTube’s current encoder workflow.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the matching fields in your encoder. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Use RTMPS if available, start the encoder, and wait for YouTube to receive the feed. Preview the stream in the Live Control Room before making it public.

Test JioFiber with the actual stream
- Connect the streaming computer using the network path you expect to use during the broadcast. A wired Ethernet connection can reduce Wi-Fi variability inside the home, but it cannot prevent upstream congestion, a service outage, or a power failure.
- Measure upload speed from that computer, then choose a bitrate below what the connection can reliably sustain rather than matching a peak result. There is no universal JioFiber upload guarantee established for every plan, address, and time of day.
- Run a private or unlisted test using the actual rain video motion, audio, resolution, and frame rate. YouTube recommends representative test content and checking stream-health indicators; see its computer livestreaming tips.
- Watch both the encoder and YouTube’s stream health messages. If you see dropped frames, instability, or warnings, reduce the bitrate or resolution and repeat the test before relying on the setup for a long session.
- Run the test long enough to expose local issues such as computer heat, source interruptions, or network variation. A successful test is useful evidence about that setup, not a guarantee of 24/7 continuity.
Protect the stream from avoidable interruptions
A long broadcast depends on every link in the chain: power, router, JioFiber connection, computer, encoder, source media, and YouTube ingestion. A fault in any one of them can stop the feed. Check that the computer will not sleep, the encoder can keep running unattended, the router and computer have dependable power, and the media source does not require periodic manual action. Monitor the stream after launch where possible. None of these precautions guarantees uninterrupted service.
Plan replay recording separately from going live
Do not count on YouTube to archive a full 24-hour session. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all; it recommends keeping a local recording backup. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.

If a replay matters, enable a local recording and verify that the files are being written correctly. You can also end and restart sessions well before the 12-hour boundary, but that creates a break in the live programme and still does not replace a local backup when the complete recording is important.
Clear rights for rain footage and audio
Use material you made yourself or have permission to exploit in a live broadcast, and keep records of licenses or permissions. Do not assume a track described as “royalty-free” is automatically safe for a YouTube live feed. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; it may cover a match with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt or terminate the stream, or apply a strike. Even if you have a license, a rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to avoid interruptions. Monetization is a separate question from permission to stream. YouTube’s monetization policy says highly repetitive or mass-produced content can be ineligible, including similar videos with minimal variation or templates that provide little value. A rain ambience format is not automatically disqualified, but make clear what is original about your footage, sound design, or presentation; do not assume the format will earn ad revenue. Eligibility depends on the channel and applicable policy. See the YouTube channel monetization policies (policy update noted 2025-07-15).
Troubleshoot common problems
