You can keep a Malayalam devotional playlist live on YouTube with OBS by preparing a YouTube broadcast, sending it audio and visuals from OBS, and keeping the computer and internet connection running. First confirm that your channel is eligible to livestream and that you have permission for every recording and composition. OBS can provide the encoder feed, but no particular OBS setup guarantees an uninterrupted 24/7 stream.
Before you start: eligibility, rights, and equipment
Confirm YouTube live access
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Check access in YouTube Studio before configuring OBS; installing OBS alone does not grant livestreaming access. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview.
Clear the music and visuals
Devotional subject matter does not make a track copyright-free. Permission may differ for the specific recording, performer, label, underlying composition, territory, and livestream use. Obtain and keep documentation that covers the use you intend, including the visual artwork or other imagery in the OBS scene.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A detected match can result in a placeholder, warning, interruption, or termination. If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube says to ask its owner to add your channel to the Content ID allowlist; a license alone may not prevent an interruption. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Plan for a local, always-on setup
With OBS, the computer running the encoder, the audio and visual sources, and the network connection must remain available for the stream to continue. The cited YouTube and OBS guidance does not establish a required CPU, GPU, memory amount, bitrate, or guaranteed continuous runtime for a Malayalam playlist. Test your own setup rather than treating an unverified hardware specification as a platform requirement.
Set up the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS
- Prepare the broadcast in YouTube Studio. Create a new live broadcast or select the intended existing or scheduled broadcast. Confirm its title, visibility, and other details before going live.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Use the YouTube integration or the stream settings provided in YouTube Studio, depending on the current versions and controls available to you. If you connect with a stream key, keep it private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Check start and stop behavior. YouTube’s broadcast controls and OBS connection determine whether the public broadcast starts when encoder data arrives and what happens when OBS stops. Review the current interface rather than relying on old screenshots: OBS’s community guide to YouTube integration dates from 2015 and its menu details may no longer match your version. A scheduled broadcast can give you a distinct event to select and manage, but is not an uptime guarantee.
- Check the YouTube preview before making the stream public. Verify that the intended broadcast is selected and that OBS is sending the right scene and sound.

Build and test the playlist scene in OBS
- Create a scene. Add a stable visual, such as artwork you own or have permission to use, and configure the audio source or sources for the devotional recordings.
- Test playback and transitions. Check that audio reaches the YouTube preview, that levels do not clip, and that track changes do not leave extended silence or an unintended gap. Confirm that the visual stays appropriate through the playlist.
- Check looping behavior. Observe a complete pass and repeat of the playlist before relying on it. The available platform guidance does not prescribe a particular OBS playlist-source method or verify a specific 24-hour looping configuration.
- Rehearse recovery. Test what happens if the internet connection drops, OBS restarts, or the encoder stops. Confirm whether the selected broadcast remains available and what action is needed to resume it.
There is no source-backed universal bitrate, resolution, or keyframe setting established for this exact audio-playlist use case. Follow the current YouTube and OBS controls for your chosen output and verify the result in the preview instead of assuming one set of encoder values will suit every connection and visual.
Check continuity before calling it 24/7
“24/7” is an operating goal, not a guarantee provided by OBS or YouTube. Rehearse for long enough to observe playlist repetition, scene changes, network interruption, OBS restart, and the broadcast’s recovery or end behavior. Set up a way to monitor the live output and a restart procedure that fits how often you can check on the computer and connection.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Copyright permission and monetization are separate questions
A license to use music does not guarantee that a channel will qualify for YouTube monetization. YouTube assesses reused content separately from copyright permission and enforcement. The outcome for a channel built around a repetitive devotional playlist cannot be predicted from the format alone. Check YouTube’s current channel monetization policies and assess the channel’s content as a whole.
