If only the current song keeps restarting, turn off the separate repeat-current-video setting as well. These playback controls stop the loop; they do not grant rights to the music or prevent a copyright match if the track remains in a livestream.
Stop the playlist from repeating
On a computer

Open a video that is part of the playlist.

Expand the playlist panel if it is collapsed.

Click the Loop control to turn playlist repetition off. YouTube also documents repeat controls for TVs and game consoles. YouTube’s computer instructions show the playlist control.
On Android

Start playing the playlist and open its playlist controls.

Tap Loop to turn off playlist repeat.

If the control shows a “1,” repeat-current-video is enabled. Tap again to disable that state if only one track is repeating. YouTube’s Android instructions distinguish playlist repeat from repeating one video.

If the playlist is playing in a livestream
Turning off repeat only changes playback. If copyrighted third-party music remains in the broadcast, YouTube may detect it and interrupt or terminate the stream. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. Stop including the track, or replace it with music you have permission to use. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance explains the scanning and interruption process.
If you have a license
Check that the license covers livestream use and any archived video, monetization, territories and attribution requirements that apply to your broadcast. Ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube notes that a licensed stream can still be interrupted when the channel has not been allowlisted.

If the stream has ended
An archived livestream can receive a Content ID claim after the live broadcast is complete. Turning off repeat does not remove an existing claim. YouTube’s live-stream guidance describes post-stream claims.
Choose replacement music with rights that fit
YouTube identifies public-domain music and music used with the copyright owner’s permission as safe options. It recommends the YouTube Audio Library; original music, Creator Music where available, and third-party paid or royalty-free catalogs may also work if their terms cover your intended use. A “free” label or a credit in the description does not by itself establish permission. Review the license for live use, archived playback, monetization, territory and attribution, and confirm whether the owner requires channel allowlisting. YouTube’s tips for finding safe music provide further guidance.
What to do about a claim already on a video
For an uploaded video with a Content ID claim, YouTube Studio may offer options to trim the claimed segment, replace the song with Audio Library music, or mute the song or all audio. A Content ID claim is distinct from a copyright removal request or strike; claims can affect monetization or viewing availability, including by geography. Use the options and details shown in Studio for that video. YouTube’s instructions for removing claimed content and its overview of Content ID claims explain these distinctions.
