To start TacSim in 007 First Light, complete Bond’s training, then select an available Tactical Simulation mission in the game. Access is staged: expect a limited selection at first, with broader mission access after campaign completion. To complete a mission, follow its displayed objective and modifiers, then earn an Agent Score; the official information does not specify a single completion or extraction rule that applies to every mission.
What TacSim is
Tactical Simulation (TacSim) is a replay-focused mode set in an MI6 facility. It challenges you to replay scenarios under modifiers, pursue objectives, and earn a score rather than continue a separate story campaign. IO Interactive describes the mode as encouraging experimentation and mastery across scenarios.
How to unlock and start TacSim
IO Interactive describes access as progression-based. Its official announcements say TacSim becomes available after Bond’s training, begins with an initial selection of missions, and opens more broadly as you progress through the story. The launch announcement specifically describes the first two missions as available initially and broader access to challenges in other levels after you complete the campaign.
Once TacSim is available, choose one of the missions currently shown in the game. Official information does not establish a reliable, button-by-button menu path, so use the current in-game menus rather than relying on a specific control sequence that may vary by platform or update.

How to complete a TacSim mission
- Read the mission objective and modifiers. Treat the selected mission’s on-screen conditions as authoritative; requirements differ by scenario.
- Choose an approach that fits those conditions. The wider game supports stealth, direct action, or a mix, with observation, bluffing, gadgets, takedowns, and combat. That does not mean every TacSim mission permits every approach.
- Prioritize the stated objective. Work toward the mission’s displayed goal while accounting for its modifiers. Do not assume that every mission ends with the same exit or extraction interaction.
- Review your score and progression rewards. TacSim missions award an Agent Score and can grant XP and Intel. Use the current mission and reward screens to see the results and available progression.
IO Interactive has not published a universal completion condition or exact exit steps for every TacSim scenario in the official information cited here. For a particular mission, the objective and conditions shown in-game are more useful than a generic walkthrough.
How Agent Score, XP, and Intel work
- Agent Score: The mission scoring measure. TacSim also supports global and friends leaderboards, according to IO Interactive.
- XP: Raises Clearance Level. Clearance Levels unlock sets of weapon and gadget skins and other cosmetics.
- Intel: A spendable progression currency for skins and cosmetics. Some TacSim rewards have also been tied to required Clearance Levels.
Mission modifiers make replaying scenarios part of the mode’s design. Check what the selected mission asks for before chasing a high score: the relevant conditions and rewards can vary.

IO Interactive’s Update 1.3.0 notes, dated October 1, 2026, list the following recent TacSim content. Earlier Update 1.1.0 notes, dated July 24, 2026, added two named Escalations.

If TacSim menus or selectors stop responding
Update 1.1.0 recorded fixes for a TacSim introduction challenge and unresponsive mission selector, gadget cart, outfit selector, and Intel shop. If one of these elements is not responding, make sure the game is updated and try again. Those fixes are part of the July 24, 2026 patch notes; they do not establish that every later issue has the same cause.
