You can run a 24/7 Indian-music YouTube stream by playing a cleared recording or playlist through OBS on a cloud PC, then sending OBS’s output to a YouTube encoder stream. The cloud PC keeps the encoder off your home computer, but it does not grant music rights, guarantee uninterrupted service, or ensure that YouTube will archive a stream lasting 24 hours or more.
Before you set up the stream: clear the music rights
Confirm rights for both the recording and the composition
Make a track-by-track inventory of the music you plan to broadcast. Confirm that you have permission for the sound recordings and the underlying compositions, for the territories where the stream will be available, and for the intended continuous YouTube use. A permission to use a song in one context does not by itself establish that a 24/7 YouTube broadcast is permitted. No general guide can confirm the rights status or licensing route for a particular Indian catalogue; check with the relevant rights holders, label, or distributor, and seek qualified local advice where needed.
Ask about Content ID allowlisting
YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. A stream can be interrupted or replaced even if you have a licence: YouTube Help says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with the label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. Get written confirmation that the channel is allowlisted for the relevant content before launch, and keep it with your track inventory. A licence and an allowlist are separate checks; neither should be assumed from the other.
Do not treat YouTube’s live Content ID matching eligibility rules for rights owners as permission for an ordinary channel to broadcast music. Those rules describe a rights-management capability, not a licence for your stream.

Make sure the YouTube channel can go live
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days; the minimum age to live stream is 16. YouTube for Artists advises first-time streamers to enable live streaming at least 24 hours before going live. Check the channel’s eligibility in advance rather than discovering a restriction at launch.
Choose a cloud PC that can sustain your encoder
Size it for the actual OBS workload
There is no universal cloud-PC specification established for a 24/7 music stream. OBS requirements vary with the encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity, and hardware that appears compatible may still fail to encode reliably. Start with OBS’s Auto Configuration Wizard, then test the chosen cloud machine with the exact media, scenes, output resolution, and frame rate you intend to use.

For a simple music stream with a static visual or looping video, avoid adding scenes and effects you do not need. Monitor OBS’s output and performance indicators during a sustained test; if encoding or rendering is overloaded, reduce the workload or choose a more capable machine. Do not infer 24/7 suitability from a provider’s advertised CPU or memory alone.
Check the provider and operating conditions
Before paying for a cloud machine, confirm that its terms allow a continuously running encoder, that it is available in your location, and what it charges for compute time and outbound network traffic. Check whether the virtual machine stays running after you disconnect from its remote desktop, whether it restarts after a host or software failure, and what monitoring or recovery controls are available. Provider availability, continuous-use terms, specifications, and costs vary; no particular provider or plan is established here as suitable.

Set up YouTube Studio and OBS
- Create the encoder stream. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow. Choose its visibility and schedule according to your launch plan. YouTube provides a stream server URL and a stream key for the encoder connection.
- Protect the stream key. In OBS, open Settings > Stream and enter the YouTube server details and key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, put it in a public document, or show it on screen. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Configure the media and output. Add the cleared recording or playlist and the visual you are authorized to use. Configure audio routing so the music reaches the stream, then run the Auto Configuration Wizard and select an output the cloud PC can sustain. Resolution, frame rate, encoder, and scene complexity all affect performance.
- Set bitrate and keyframes from the current YouTube guidance for your chosen output. The source material for this guide does not establish a single bitrate or keyframe interval for every resolution, frame rate, and encoder. Do not copy a number without matching it to your output and YouTube’s current encoder recommendations. Check that OBS’s configured output is within the limits shown for the stream before committing to a long broadcast.
- Start OBS and verify the preview. Start streaming in OBS and wait for YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room to show the incoming preview. For a scheduled stream, select Go live in the Live Control Room after the preview arrives; sending data from OBS alone does not complete that scheduled launch.
- Run a private or unlisted rehearsal. Check that music and visual playback loop as intended, the audio is present and not clipping, YouTube receives the preview, and the stream survives a remote-desktop disconnect. Test the cloud host’s restart and recovery behavior rather than assuming it will resume automatically.
- Launch publicly and monitor it. After the rehearsal and rights checks, use the planned visibility setting. Keep a way to check the Live Control Room and OBS status, and document who can respond if the encoder stops or YouTube interrupts the broadcast.
Plan for interruptions, long sessions, and archives
Separate stream recovery from music clearance
A cloud machine can keep OBS running when your own computer is off, but it cannot prevent a copyright match, platform restriction, network failure, or cloud-host failure. If YouTube drops the stream, identify the cause before restarting; restarting without resolving a rights match can lead to another interruption. Keep the rights-holder contact and allowlist confirmation accessible to whoever monitors the channel.
Do not assume a 24-hour stream becomes one complete VOD
YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not establish that a single 24/7 stream will be archived in full. If you need replays, design and test a segmentation or restart workflow, then check the resulting archive behavior before promising viewers a complete VOD.

Do not confuse an API limit with an OBS limit
Google Cloud’s 24-hour session wording applies to channels managed through its Live Stream API. It does not establish a 24-hour limit for a creator’s OBS encoder sending RTMPS to YouTube. RTMPS is YouTube’s secure RTMP-over-SSL transport; using it does not, by itself, guarantee a particular session duration or uptime.
Test these failure cases before relying on the channel
- YouTube reports a copyright match or interrupts the stream: stop and identify the matched content. Confirm permissions and ask the rights holder or distributor to allowlist the channel through Content ID where appropriate. Do not assume that restarting or having a licence on file will resolve the match.
- YouTube does not show an incoming preview: check that OBS is streaming, the server URL and key match the current YouTube Studio stream, and the cloud PC has a working network connection. If you have exposed the key, reset it and replace the OBS value.
- The preview arrives but the scheduled stream is not public: in the Live Control Room, select Go live after the preview appears.
- OBS struggles to encode or the output stutters: review OBS performance and encoding indicators, then test a less demanding resolution, frame rate, or scene setup. A compatible machine is not proof that it can sustain the selected workload.
- The stream stops after you close the remote desktop: verify whether the cloud session or virtual machine is configured to remain active after disconnect. Test this before launch and check the provider’s rules and controls.
- The stream runs but no complete replay appears: the documented automatic-archive statement covers streams under 12 hours, not a continuous 24-hour-or-longer broadcast. Verify a shorter-segment or restart workflow and its resulting archives.
