You do not need to wait for a personal invitation to play the Squad PS5 Alpha Preview. Offworld Industries says the preview is open to everyone, provided you enlist at alpha.joinsquad.com, then claim the free PlayStation Store listing with the same PSN account you will use on your PS5.
The time-limited preview runs from October 16 through October 25, 2026. After enlisting, open the linked Store page, choose Add to Library (or the equivalent Store action), and download the preview from that account. If it is not visible, the checks below distinguish an account or Store problem from an unavailable test.

The “up to 99” Store wording and Offworld’s “up to 100” console description refer to the same large-scale multiplayer preview but are presented differently in the two official descriptions. Treat the Store listing attached to your account as the practical authority for download and availability.

Offworld’s October 16, 2026 announcement says, “The alpha preview is open to all, but you will need to enlist HERE.” That is an open-enlistment process, not a lottery or a wave of individually selected codes. Enlisting registers your interest and leads you to the PlayStation Store page; it does not mean you must wait for an acceptance email before checking the Store.

There is no separately published personal invite checker, invite-code workflow, or detailed region matrix for this preview. If you are waiting for an email, check your enlistment and PSN library first. A missing email by itself does not show that access was denied.
Before you begin
Prepare the account and console combination you intend to use. The Store license is attached to the PSN account that claims the preview, so using a different profile later can make the title appear to be missing even when enlistment was completed correctly.
- Use a PS5 and the PSN account that will actually launch the alpha.
- Be signed in to that same account when you open the PlayStation Store and when you download the preview.
- Use the regional PlayStation Store account you intend to keep using. Official materials do not publish a complete country-by-country availability matrix.
- Have access to the official enlistment page at alpha.joinsquad.com.
- Remember that this is a digital preview. No disc or retail purchase is part of the sign-up process.
How to sign up and download the PS5 alpha
- Open the official enlistment page. Go to alpha.joinsquad.com, using the announcement’s link rather than an unrelated promotion or a third-party code offer.
- Complete the enlistment. Follow the page’s sign-up flow to register for the preview. Keep the browser confirmation or completion screen available until you have followed the Store link.
- Open the linked PlayStation Store page. The destination is the listing named Squad — PS5 Alpha Preview. Confirm that the page identifies the PS5 alpha before claiming anything.
- Check the listing details. The listing labels the product Free Beta, identifies it as a PS5 Alpha Preview, and states that online features require a PlayStation account. Those details distinguish the test from a paid release or another Squad listing.
- Choose Add to Library. Select Add to Library, or the equivalent Store action shown for your account. Do this while signed in to the PSN profile you will use on the console.
- Start the download. Download the preview from the same PS5 account. If the Store offers a direct download action, use it; otherwise open the account’s game library and select the newly added alpha.
- Launch from that account. Start the preview with the PSN profile that claimed it. Switching to another profile can make a correctly claimed item look unavailable.
The enlistment and Store-claim actions are separate. Completing the first does not replace the second: you still need to add the free listing to your library and download it.

How to check your access when no invite email arrives
Because the preview is open to all who enlist, the most useful “invite check” is an account-and-library check. Work through these items in order:
- Confirm the enlistment destination. Make sure you completed the process at alpha.joinsquad.com, not merely read the announcement.
- Confirm the PSN identity. Compare the account shown in the PlayStation Store with the account signed in on the PS5. The two must be the same account that claimed the preview.
- Confirm the library action. The listing should have been added to that account’s library. If you only opened the page, repeat the Add to Library action.
- Look for the title in the library or on the alpha listing. Search for Squad — PS5 Alpha Preview, rather than a similarly named product.
- Check the Store region. Use the intended regional account and Store. Availability can differ by region, and no complete region matrix has been published for this event.
- Check the calendar. The preview is scheduled only for October 16–25, 2026. Store visibility and launch behavior can change when a time-limited test ends.
If all six checks pass and the listing is still absent, use Offworld’s official support or contact route and monitor the developer’s announcement channels for changes. The published materials do not describe a separate code-redeem page that can be used instead.
Troubleshooting by symptom
The enlistment page opened, but I never reached a Store listing
Return to alpha.joinsquad.com and complete the enlistment flow again, then follow its Store link. Reading the announcement or visiting the page without finishing enlistment does not add a product to a PSN library. Keep the Store and PS5 signed in to the account you plan to use.
The listing appears, but I cannot find Add to Library
Verify that the title is Squad — PS5 Alpha Preview and that it is marked Free Beta. A different listing, a paid product page, or a page opened under another account may show different controls. Sign out of any unintended PSN profile and reopen the alpha listing with the intended account.

Open the library or return to the alpha listing while signed in to the claiming account. The download must be started from that account; adding the item on one profile does not automatically place it in another profile’s collection. If the title remains absent, repeat the account and region checks before contacting official support.
The alpha is visible in one region but not another
Official materials do not provide a detailed region-by-region matrix. Check the Store account’s region and use the account that matches your intended location. Do not assume that an item visible on a different regional account will transfer to your normal PSN profile.
I expected an invite code or approval email
This preview is described as open enlistment, so a personal code is not the published requirement. Complete enlistment, claim the free Store listing, and verify the library on the correct account instead of waiting for a separate invitation.
The test window has passed
The announced preview window ends on October 25, 2026. After that date, the listing may no longer be downloadable or launchable as an active test. Check the Store page and Offworld’s announcement channels for any updated availability rather than treating an expired preview as an account failure.
What you can play in the preview
The Store description lays out a short progression before multiplayer: complete Infantry Training and Pilot Training, then enter a limited Invasion Mode skirmish on Gorodok.
- Infantry Training: the listed ground-combat training activity.
- Pilot Training: the listed flight-focused training activity.
- Invasion Mode on Gorodok: the limited map-and-mode skirmish included in the preview.
Offworld describes the console test as 50-versus-50 combat and says console player-versus-player matches can support up to 100 players. The Store listing separately states support for up to 99 online players. These figures describe the scale of the online test, not a promise that every match will contain the maximum number.
Accounts, equipment, and what is not required
PlayStation account
A PlayStation account is required for online features, according to the Store listing. Use one account consistently for enlistment, Store claim, download, and launch.
PS5 hardware
The product is labeled PS5 Alpha Preview, so the test is presented as a PlayStation 5 preview. The published listing does not establish a separate PS4 version.

A controller or headset may be useful for playing a large online shooter, but neither is an enlistment product and neither grants access. Sign-up is performed through the official enlistment page and the digital Store listing.
Physical copies and purchases
Offworld’s console FAQ says the console version will be digital-only and that there will be no physical edition. Buying a disc, a boxed copy, or an unrelated product cannot unlock this alpha. The preview itself is free through the Store listing.
Dates, labels, and availability can change
Offworld announced the preview on October 16, 2026. The announcement gives the event window as October 16–25, 2026, and the Store page shows October 16, 2026 as its release date. Because this is a time-limited test, the listing’s visibility, download control, and launch availability can change during or after that window.
Before troubleshooting an account, read the current Store page again and confirm the date shown there. A listing that disappears after October 25 may simply reflect the end of the scheduled preview rather than a failed enlistment.
