To share a video, choose access based on what the recipient needs: invite a named person for controlled viewing, use a link for easier distribution, or send a review link when you want time-coded comments. Before sending, check who can open it, whether they can comment or download it, and whether access expires. Viewing, commenting, and editing are separate permissions—grant only what is needed.
Choose the right kind of access

Google Drive offers Viewer, Commenter, and Editor roles. Its “Anyone with the link” setting can make a file accessible to people beyond named invitees, and Google notes that the file owner’s name and email are visible to people receiving a shared link. Google Drive: Share files from Google Drive

Share a video with a named person or a link
Invite a person for a limited audience
- Open the video in the file-sharing or video service you use and choose its sharing or invite control.
- Enter the recipient’s email address or select the intended team members.
- Choose viewer access if they only need playback. Choose commenter access for feedback, or editor/manager access only if they need to change the file, settings, or project.
- Review any account, organization, or sign-in restriction, then send the invitation.
A named invitation narrows access to the people you choose, but it does not prevent an authorized viewer from recording or redistributing what they can see.

Use a link when sending it is more convenient
- Open the video’s sharing settings and choose the link-sharing option.
- Set the audience to the intended scope. On Google Drive, “Anyone with the link” is a distinct option; do not select it if only named people should have access.
- Choose the recipient’s role where the service offers one, and check password, expiration, and download controls if available.
- Copy the link and send it only to the intended audience.
An unlisted or password-protected link can limit who can readily access a video, but neither control stops an authorized recipient from capturing or redistributing it.
Share a video for review and comments
For feedback tied to particular moments, use a review workflow rather than a general viewing link. Review tools can attach comments to timestamps, making it easier to identify which shot or line a note refers to.
Vimeo review links
Vimeo says review links support private, time-coded feedback. A guest can be prompted to provide a name and email before posting feedback, and may not need a Vimeo account or team seat. You can configure whether recipients may comment, download, change status, or view previous versions; separate review links for one video can have different settings. The feature is listed for Standard, Advanced, Pro, Business, Premium, and Enterprise plans; check current plan eligibility and controls before relying on them. Vimeo review links

Important: Vimeo says review-link access is separate from the video’s ordinary privacy setting. A recipient with a review link can view the video regardless of that individual privacy setting. Treat the review link as its own access path: check its password and permissions, and disable it when it is no longer needed if the service allows.
Frame.io review links and project access
Sharing material for external review is different from adding someone as a project collaborator. Frame.io’s cited support article is labeled legacy and describes controls such as passwords, expiration, comments, downloads, approval, and version access. Test access before you send the link
- Check the sharing mode and confirm it matches the intended audience.
- Verify whether the recipient needs a specific account, organization membership, or password.
- Confirm whether comments and downloads are enabled, and whether the link expires.
- When possible, open the link in a private browser window or test it with a separate recipient account. Confirm it opens with the expected identity and permissions.
- If access is no longer needed, revoke the invitation or disable the link when the service permits.
