You can use XSplit Broadcaster on a Windows PC in India to send a continuous broadcast to YouTube, but XSplit does not make it an unattended, guaranteed-uptime service: your PC, power and internet connection must stay available. Enable YouTube Live first, create a scene and YouTube output in XSplit, then choose an encoder bitrate your connection can sustain with headroom. For prerecorded videos that must keep streaming while your PC is off, a cloud service is a different option.
Before you set up XSplit
XSplit Broadcaster is a Windows encoder. XSplit Support lists Windows 10/11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM and a minimum 2nd-generation Intel Core i5 or equivalent; for HD 1080p streaming, it recommends a 4th-generation Core i7 or equivalent. Its requirements page also lists broadband, HTTPS/HTTP ports 80/8080 and a minimum 500 kbps upload for its lowest settings. These vendor-published minimums do not mean 500 kbps is enough for a useful, stable 24/7 YouTube picture. See XSplit Broadcaster system requirements.
- Use a Windows 10 or 11 64-bit PC with current graphics drivers and enough processing capacity for your scene and encoding settings.
- Measure sustained upload speed where the PC will actually run. Shared Wi-Fi or other household traffic can leave the PC with less bandwidth than the broadband plan advertises.
- Keep the PC and network equipment powered and connected for the full broadcast. A local encoder depends on both; an XSplit setup is not equivalent to a cloud stream.
Enable YouTube Live before launch day
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. First-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so complete enablement well before the planned broadcast. Follow YouTube’s Get started with live streaming guidance and confirm live streaming is available in YouTube Studio.
Create a scene and connect XSplit to YouTube
- Build the scene. In XSplit, sign in and add the visual and audio sources your program needs. For prerecorded programming, arrange the video source or playlist you intend to present and verify that audio is routed correctly.
- Authorize YouTube. Open Broadcast → YouTube, authorize the channel when prompted, and configure a YouTube Live output. XSplit’s YouTube Live streaming guide documents this workflow; interface labels can change, so consult the guide if your menu differs.
- Set broadcast details. Fill in the title, description, tags and privacy details in the output setup. Check that the intended channel and visibility are selected.
- Preview before sending. Inspect the scene and audio, then start the configured output and check the preview in YouTube Live Control Room before treating the broadcast as live.
If a direct YouTube output is unavailable, use YouTube’s encoder workflow: copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into the encoder’s stream settings. Treat the key like a password. Anyone with access to it may be able to broadcast to your channel; if it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio. See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Choose stable video and network settings
Set bitrate according to measured upload capacity, not the maximum you hope the connection can deliver. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom above the stream bitrate. For example, a 10 Mbps stream calls for at least 12.5 Mbps of sustained available upload under that guidance, before accounting for other devices or traffic. This is a planning calculation from YouTube’s headroom recommendation, not a guarantee of performance on any Indian ISP.

- Choose a lower resolution or bitrate if the sustained upload at the streaming location cannot preserve the recommended headroom.
- Test with representative motion and audio: a mostly static scene may behave differently from footage with frequent movement.
- Avoid using a familiar 1080p30 preset just because it is available. Stability at a sustainable quality is more useful than a higher setting that regularly drops frames.
Test the full broadcast and plan for failures
- Set up ahead of the intended start, then send a test output and inspect YouTube Live Control Room’s preview and stream health.
- Check the public watch page from another device or browser to confirm that viewers can see and hear the intended output.
- Monitor the broadcast during operation. If you have configured a backup encoder, deliberately test failover before relying on it.
- Plan who or what process will respond to power loss, PC freezes, network outages or encoder errors. The cited XSplit and YouTube instructions do not promise automatic recovery by XSplit if YouTube drops the connection.
A line-interactive UPS sized for the actual PC and network-equipment load can help with brief power interruptions, but it does not keep the stream online if the internet path or ISP service is unavailable.
Understand recording and copyright limits
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a 24-hour session will be saved as one automatically archived recording. If you need an archive, plan and test a suitable recording or segmenting workflow and verify current YouTube behavior before launch. Use only video and audio you have the rights to stream. A continuous broadcast does not remove copyright obligations; review YouTube’s current policies for the content and music you intend to use before going live.
India-specific considerations
The official XSplit and YouTube guidance cited here does not establish a special encoder configuration or bitrate table for India. Apply the general requirements above and test sustained upload from the precise location where the PC will operate. Do not assume a particular ISP or connection plan guarantees uninterrupted service.
