To set up the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike, connect its LIGHTSPEED receiver through the supplied extension adapter, switch on the mouse, install the current Logitech G HUB software, and then open HITS Configuration to tune actuation point, rapid trigger, DPI, report rate, and click haptics. Keep the receiver within 20 cm of the mouse and more than 2 m from strong 2.4 GHz interference sources such as a Wi-Fi router.
This guide covers the physical connection, software setup, LED meanings, wireless placement, HITS controls, charging, optional hardware, HITS Code sharing, and the fixes for the most common connection problems.
What you need before starting
The supplied parts are enough for a normal wireless setup. The box contains the mouse, a USB charging/data cable, a LIGHTSPEED receiver already installed in an extension adapter, a surface-preparation cloth, optional grip tape, and an optional POWERPLAY aperture door with foot.

Connect the receiver and turn on the mouse
- Plug the USB charging/data cable into the computer. Use the cable supplied with the mouse if it is available.
- Attach the extension adapter to the other end of the cable.
- Leave the LIGHTSPEED receiver in the extension adapter. It is supplied in that adapter and should sit at the end of the cable rather than directly against the computer.
- Turn on the mouse. The power switch must be on before G HUB can detect the device or before you can use the wireless link.
- Place the receiver near the mouse. Logitech’s setup guide recommends using the mouse within 20 cm of the receiver and keeping the receiver more than 2 m from 2.4 GHz interference sources, including Wi-Fi routers.
The extension cable is more than a convenience: it lets you position the receiver close to the mouse while keeping it away from a crowded group of USB devices and wireless equipment. If the pointer is intermittent, fix receiver placement before changing software settings.
Install Logitech G HUB
Install the current Logitech G HUB application from logitechG.com/GHUB. Logitech identifies G HUB as the current configuration software for this newer mouse. Logitech Gaming Software is legacy software and is not the appropriate application for configuring the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE.
- Open the G HUB download page.
- Download and install the version for your computer.
- Launch G HUB after installation.
- Leave the receiver connected through the extension adapter and make sure the mouse is powered on.
- Wait for the mouse to appear in G HUB’s device list, then select it.
If the device does not appear, do not start by reinstalling every driver. First verify the cable path, receiver, power switch, and distance between the receiver and mouse. Those checks address the physical conditions Logitech specifies for setup.

Understand the status LEDs
| LED behavior | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Flashes red | The battery is at 15% charge. | Connect the USB charging/data cable and charge the mouse. |
| Pulses green while connected by cable | The mouse is charging. | Leave the cable connected until you have enough charge for the session. |
The red indication is a low-charge warning at 15 percent, not a wireless-pairing code. A pulsing green LED while the mouse is connected by cable indicates charging. If you see the low-charge warning during play, connect the cable first; changing HITS settings will not restore battery charge.
Open HITS Configuration in G HUB
After G HUB detects the mouse, open the device page and choose HITS Configuration. This is where the PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE’s click behavior is adjusted. The controls are independent, so you can change one setting at a time and identify exactly what changed in a game.
Actuation Point
Actuation Point has 10 levels. It determines how far the click must be pressed before the mouse registers it.
- Lower values make the click more sensitive and register with a lighter press.
- Higher values require a more deliberate press, which can help when accidental clicks are a problem.
There is no universally correct level. Begin with a moderate value, play a familiar game, and move one step at a time. A setting that feels fast in a menu can be too sensitive when you are resting a finger on the button, while a higher value can feel more controlled for ordinary desktop work.
Rapid Trigger
Rapid Trigger has five levels. It changes how quickly the click releases as your finger lifts.

- Zero-Additive PTFE Mouse Feet: This superlight mouse glides smoothly with seamless connection to your game with Zero-additive PTFE mouse feet
- Pro Precision: LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches deliver pro-level precision and reliability with tactile click
- Lower values release the click faster as the finger rises.
- Higher values require more finger movement before the release is detected.
Use the same one-change-at-a-time method as with actuation. Test repeated presses and releases in a familiar game rather than judging only from a settings screen. If the click feels as though it releases too easily, move to a higher value; if you need a quicker reset, try a lower value.
Click Haptics
Click Haptics has six strength values, including 0 (off). The haptic feedback changes the physical feel of a click, while the actuation and rapid-trigger controls determine when the click registers and resets.
Higher Click Haptics strength values consume more power and reduce battery life. Set the control to 0 when battery conservation is more important than haptic feedback, or choose a stronger value when a more pronounced click sensation is useful. Treat haptic strength as a separate preference from actuation: changing the feel does not replace testing the registration point.
DPI and report rate
G HUB also provides DPI and report-rate controls for the mouse. Configure those after the HITS controls so you can isolate click behavior from pointer-speed changes. Keep a familiar game or application open while testing, and record the values that feel reliable before trying another step.
A practical tuning procedure
Logitech’s guide explains what each HITS control changes but does not prescribe one setting for every player. Finger pressure, tolerance for accidental clicks, game genre, and battery priorities differ. This procedure gives you a repeatable starting point without pretending there is a single best profile.
- Start at a moderate Actuation Point. Avoid beginning at either extreme. Confirm that ordinary clicks register consistently.
- Choose a moderate Rapid Trigger level. Perform repeated press-and-release actions and check that the release occurs when you expect.
- Set Click Haptics to a comfortable level. Use 0 if battery life is the priority; otherwise select the strength that gives useful tactile confirmation.
- Test in a familiar game. Use actions you already know, such as repeated clicks, movement commands, or a skill that depends on a clean release.
- Change only one value. Move one actuation or rapid-trigger step, test again, and keep the change only if it solves the problem you were observing.
- Check accidental activation. Rest your finger naturally on the button and confirm that your normal grip does not trigger an unwanted click.
- Save or export the configuration when it feels right. G HUB can export your configuration as a HITS Code for reuse.
This approach separates sensitivity from reset behavior and haptic feel. It also gives you a known baseline to restore if a later adjustment feels worse.
Import or export a HITS Code
HITS Code is useful when you want to move a tested setup between computers or share it with another player. G HUB can import a shared player HITS Code and export your own configuration.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Import a shared code
- Open the mouse in G HUB.
- Go to HITS Configuration.
- Choose the import option and enter or paste the shared HITS Code.
- Apply the imported configuration, then test it in your familiar game.
Imported values are a starting point, not a guarantee that the same setting will suit your grip or accidental-click tolerance. If the click feels too sensitive or too slow to reset, adjust the relevant control by one step and test again.

Export your own code
- Open the completed profile in HITS Configuration.
- Choose the export option in G HUB.
- Copy the generated HITS Code and store it somewhere you can retrieve it later.
Exporting is especially useful before experimenting with a new actuation or rapid-trigger value because it gives you a known configuration to restore.
Position the receiver for stable wireless operation
Wireless reliability depends heavily on receiver placement. Logitech’s specific recommendation is to keep the mouse within 20 cm of the receiver and place the receiver more than 2 m from sources of 2.4 GHz interference, such as Wi-Fi routers.
- Use the extension adapter so the receiver can sit on the desk near the mouse.
- Do not hide the receiver behind a computer case if that forces it far from your hand.
- Move the receiver away from a nearby Wi-Fi router or another strong 2.4 GHz source.
- Keep the receiver and its cable firmly connected while testing.
If the mouse works when wired but behaves erratically wirelessly, the receiver path and its location are the first things to inspect. Do not interpret a placement problem as a failed HITS configuration.

Connect the supplied USB charging/data cable to charge the mouse. A pulsing green LED indicates charging over the cable. A flashing red LED indicates that charge has reached 15 percent and that charging should be your next step.
Click Haptics is the setting with the explicit battery trade-off: stronger values use more power and shorten battery life. If you want to reduce consumption, set Click Haptics to 0. Actuation Point and Rapid Trigger should be chosen for reliable control; do not make a click less usable merely to avoid a haptic preference.
The cable is included in the box. If it is missing or damaged, the setup materials directly establish only the use of a compatible USB charging/data cable as the replacement path. Verify that any replacement supports both charging and data before relying on it for G HUB detection.

Grip tape and a surface-preparation cloth are included as optional accessories. If you apply the tape, use the supplied cloth to prepare the surface first and fit the pieces carefully so they do not interfere with normal button movement.
The optional POWERPLAY aperture door with foot is intended for compatible POWERPLAY hardware. The receiver can also be stored inside the mouse by removing the POWERPLAY aperture door. For everyday wireless use at a desk, keeping the receiver in the extension adapter generally makes placement easier; internal storage is useful when transporting the mouse.

Troubleshooting checklist
G HUB does not detect the mouse
- Confirm that the USB cable is connected to the computer.
- Confirm that the extension adapter is attached to the cable.
- Confirm that the LIGHTSPEED receiver is in the extension adapter.
- Turn the mouse power switch on.
- Install or update to current Logitech G HUB rather than legacy Logitech Gaming Software.
- Move the receiver within 20 cm of the mouse and retry detection.
These checks establish the complete connection path before you spend time changing profiles.
The wireless pointer is intermittent
- Move the receiver closer than 20 cm to the mouse.
- Move the receiver more than 2 m from a Wi-Fi router or another strong 2.4 GHz source.
- Use the extension adapter instead of leaving the receiver in a distant or obstructed USB port.
- Check that the cable and adapter have not loosened.
- Confirm that the mouse is powered on and has sufficient charge.
The mouse shows a red flashing LED
The red flash occurs at 15 percent charge. Connect the charging/data cable and look for the pulsing green charging indication. If the mouse is already connected, check that the cable is a data-capable charging cable and that the computer recognizes the connection.
The click feels too sensitive
Increase Actuation Point one step and test again. If the problem occurs when releasing the button rather than pressing it, increase Rapid Trigger one step instead. Keep Click Haptics separate from those changes because haptic strength changes feedback and power use, not the registration rule you are trying to correct.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

Lower Rapid Trigger one step, then test repeated press-and-release actions in a familiar game. If accidental releases appear, return to the previous value; the correct setting is the lowest level that remains controllable for your grip.
The supplied cable is unavailable
Use a compatible USB charging/data cable. The setup materials do not establish a different special cable requirement, so confirm both charging and data connectivity before using it to troubleshoot G HUB detection.
What the setup tells you about the mouse
The PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE is built around a configurable click system rather than a single fixed click feel. Logitech describes it as its first mouse with a fully customizable click experience. The configuration range is concrete: 10 actuation-point levels, five rapid-trigger levels, and six click-haptics levels including off.
Logitech’s product page, accessed in 2026, lists a US price of $179.99 and claims up to 30 ms of click-latency reduction. The latency figure is a manufacturer claim, not a universal result for every computer, game, wireless environment, or configuration, so treat it as product positioning rather than a guarantee of a particular in-game improvement.
