Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallYou can use OBS to send a continuous rain-sounds stream to YouTube over JioFiber, but neither OBS nor an “unlimited” broadband plan guarantees uninterrupted service. Build a simple scene with rights-cleared audio and visuals, choose a bitrate your connection can sustain, test it, and plan for outages and YouTube’s archive limits. Jio’s published home-use terms do not settle whether every monetized, continuous stream is permitted on a particular plan.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel that is verified and has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a server URL and stream key from Live Control Room. See YouTube’s live-streaming access guidance.
- A computer that can run OBS continuously, a stable wired connection if practical, and rain audio plus a visual that you own or are licensed to use for worldwide live streaming and any archive.
- A measured upload connection with enough consistent headroom for the selected video bitrate and ordinary household use. A headline plan speed is not a test of sustained upload stability.
OBS encodes and sends the feed; it does not supply the streaming service or guarantee that your computer, power, router, or broadband connection will stay online.
Set up the OBS stream step by step
1. Create a scene with cleared audio and visuals
- In OBS, create a scene for the rain stream.
- Add a still image or a looping rain visual as a source. Add the rain recording as an audio source, and check that it loops cleanly if it is shorter than the intended broadcast.
- Play the scene and listen for gaps, abrupt loop points, distortion, or clipping. If the visual moves, check that it repeats without a distracting jump.
YouTube holds the creator responsible for obtaining the necessary rights for live and archived content. Its live-streaming guidance says that a detected third-party match can trigger a warning and placeholder image; if the content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even licensed material may need the rights owner to allowlist your channel. Use original recordings or retain permission that explicitly covers worldwide use, continuous live streaming, and archiving. A “no copyright” label alone does not establish those rights. See YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance and its terms.
2. Choose a sustainable video and audio profile
YouTube recommends RTMP or RTMPS ingest, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). Its published H.264 recommendations include 6 Mbps for 720p at 60 frames per second and 4 Mbps for the 240p–720p at 30 frames per second row. These are platform recommendations, not a guarantee that your particular JioFiber line can sustain those rates. YouTube also lists H.264, H.265, and AV1 video options; for a basic OBS setup, select an encoder option supported by your OBS installation and computer. Its advanced audio recommendation is stereo AAC at 128 kbps. See YouTube’s live encoder settings.

| Setting | Starting point or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Ingest | RTMP or RTMPS | YouTube’s encoder guidance supports these ingest protocols. |
| Rate control | CBR | Recommended by YouTube for this encoder workflow. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds | YouTube’s recommended interval is 2 seconds. |
| Video bitrate | Choose a rate your measured connection sustains; YouTube lists 6 Mbps for 720p60 and 4 Mbps for its 240p–720p30 row. | Those rates are platform recommendations, not JioFiber-specific guarantees. |
| Audio | AAC stereo at 128 kbps is YouTube’s advanced recommendation. | Rain ambience depends on continuous, clean audio; listen for clipping and dropouts during testing. |
| Resolution and frame rate | Use a modest profile suited to a mostly static or slowly moving scene, then test the actual computer load and network behavior. | More pixels, frames, or visual complexity can increase encoding and upload demands. |
Measure upload speed at the location and time you expect to stream, and repeat the measurement at busy household times. OBS advises basing bitrate on stable upload capacity and the service’s limits. Its troubleshooting guidance gives 75% of total upload speed as an example starting point, not a universal rule or a JioFiber setting. Leave room for household traffic, and reduce the bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it. See OBS network troubleshooting.
3. Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or select the live stream.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the encoder setup into OBS’s stream configuration. Do not show the key in a recording, screenshot, or on-stream scene; treat it like a password.
- Start OBS streaming and verify that YouTube receives the feed in its preview before making the stream public or leaving it unattended.
4. Test the full setup before leaving it running
- Run a test using the actual rain audio, visual, encoder, and network connection you intend to use.
- Check the YouTube preview for a stable picture and continuous sound. Listen for clipping and confirm the audio does not stop when the source loops.
- Watch OBS’s status for rising dropped frames or intermittent disconnections. If either occurs, lower bitrate and investigate the network path before trying again.
- Check the stream again after it has run for a while and at times when others use the home connection. Stability under a brief test does not prove it will remain stable unattended.
Will JioFiber allow a continuous livestream?
Jio describes JioFiber as a high-speed fibre broadband service and lists streaming among typical uses. That general description is not a service-level commitment for continuous encoder upload. Jio’s plan FAQ says plans are for home use and that RJIL may discontinue service in cases of misuse, fraudulent, unauthorised, or commercial use. It does not define whether a creator’s continuous or monetized ambient stream counts as commercial use, so do not assume “unlimited” resolves the question. Check the current terms for your exact plan and ask Jio about your intended use. Sources: JioFiber service information and Jio’s plan FAQ.

The available official guidance does not establish a JioFiber-specific sustained upload rate or verified 24/7 reliability figure. Measure your own line and treat interruptions as possible even if the speed test looks good.
Plan for outages, archives, and power interruptions
Keep an archive if the recording matters
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. It recommends keeping a local archive as a backup. If you need a complete YouTube archive, schedule periodic restarts under 12 hours; each restart creates an interruption. A local OBS recording can provide another copy, but it also uses computer resources and storage. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Decide whether backup power is worthwhile
An appropriately sized UPS may bridge a brief local power interruption for the computer and router, depending on their combined load and the desired runtime. It cannot keep the stream online through a Jio network outage. Measure the equipment’s power draw and choose capacity for your target runtime rather than assuming any UPS will cover the whole setup.
Troubleshoot common stream problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| OBS shows dropped frames or the stream disconnects intermittently | The network path is unstable, or bitrate exceeds what the connection can sustain. | Lower the video bitrate, test upload again under typical household load, and troubleshoot the connection using OBS’s network guidance. |
| YouTube does not receive the encoder feed | The stream may not be started in OBS, or the server URL or stream key may be incorrect. | Compare the OBS stream configuration with the values in YouTube Live Control Room. Keep the key private; regenerate it if it has been exposed. |
| Audio is silent, interrupted, or distorted | The source may not be playing or looping as intended, or its level may be clipping. | Monitor the scene in OBS, check the audio source and loop behavior, and adjust levels until playback is continuous and clean. |
| YouTube warns about third-party content or interrupts the stream | A live copyright match may have been detected, or rights may not cover the use. | Use original material or resolve the rights issue with the owner; licensed content may require channel allowlisting. Do not assume a “no copyright” label is sufficient. |
| The stream runs, but YouTube has no complete archive | A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. | Keep a local recording and, if a YouTube archive is needed, plan a restart before the stream reaches 12 hours. |
