Use two layers of tracking: Nintendo’s own Coming Soon and Sales and Deals pages for authoritative release dates and eShop promotions, and Deku Deals for email alerts across supported retailers. Nintendo’s Wish List saves games for later, but the Coming Soon documentation does not promise a universal release-date notification. Deku Deals explicitly offers an email when a wishlisted game goes on sale.
The reliable routine is to save each upcoming Switch 2 title on Nintendo, add the exact edition to Deku Deals, set a price rule from its history chart, and verify the live region, format, stock, and sale end date immediately before buying.

What each alert method actually does
These services answer different questions. Nintendo is the first-party reference for announced releases, digital pre-orders, pre-loading, and eShop promotions. Deku Deals adds cross-retailer monitoring and sale emails. Treat a saved list as a way to remember a game unless the current page explicitly shows a notification control.
| Method | Authority and coverage | Notification or tracking behavior | Price context | Format and region considerations |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Coming Soon | Official Nintendo catalog of upcoming games, including Nintendo Switch 2 titles | Heart icon adds a title to your Wish List; the page documents saving a game, not a guaranteed release-date alert | Release-date and pre-order reference rather than a historical price tracker | Use the displayed title and release information for your Nintendo account’s store region |
| Nintendo Sales and Deals | Official promotions for digital games, DLC, and merchandise | Live sale listings and end dates; Nintendo advises checking back often for featured offers and recommendations | Current Nintendo offers and their stated deadlines | Primarily the Nintendo storefront; confirm that the offer applies to your region and edition |
| Deku Deals | Third-party aggregation of supported retailers and Nintendo Switch 2 catalog items | After you sign up, add games to your wishlist, select the relevant region and retailers, and enable email notifications; the service says it will email when a wishlisted game goes on sale | Current retailer offers plus detailed price-history charts, allowing a prior-low or percentage-discount buying rule | Can cover digital and physical retailer listings where available; match region, language, edition, and retailer before purchase |
Step 1: Build a release watchlist on Nintendo
Nintendo’s Coming Soon catalog is the authoritative starting point for announced Switch 2 releases. The page describes digital pre-orders as downloadable in advance so a game can be played when it is released, and it provides a heart icon for adding a title to your Wish List.

- Open Nintendo’s current Coming Soon catalog.
- Filter the catalog for Nintendo Switch 2 so you are not mixing original Switch listings with Switch 2 releases.
- Open each title that interests you and write down the release date shown on that title’s page. Keep the date with the exact edition name, because a Switch 2 Edition and an original Switch version can have different purchase requirements.
- Press the heart icon to add the game to your Wish List. This creates a saved list you can revisit; it is not evidence that Nintendo will send a release email.
- If you want a digital pre-order, check whether the title offers one and whether the page describes pre-loading. Nintendo’s statement is specific to digital pre-orders: the game can be pre-loaded to the system and played when released.
Release dates can move, so use the date on the live title page rather than a date copied into a spreadsheet or social post. A saved Wish List entry is useful for keeping the title in one place, while the title page remains the place to confirm the current date and pre-order status.
Use your own reminder for a saved release date
Because Nintendo’s Coming Soon explanation establishes the Wish List as a save-for-later control rather than a universal alert guarantee, add a calendar reminder using the displayed release date if you need a prompt. Set a second reminder a few days earlier to review the listing, edition and pre-load information. This is a personal safeguard, not a Nintendo notification promise.
Step 2: Turn the watchlist into sale emails with Deku Deals
Deku Deals is the practical second layer when you want an email instead of repeatedly checking a saved Nintendo list. Its published description says: “Sign up, add some to your wishlist, and you’ll get an email when they go on sale!” It also shows retailer offers and price history for Switch 2 games.
- Create or sign in to your Deku Deals account.
- Select the country or store region in which you will actually buy. Region selection affects currency, retailer coverage and which sale qualifies as relevant.
- Search for the exact Switch 2 title and add it to your Deku Deals wishlist. Do not add a similarly named original-Switch release when you want a Switch 2 Edition.
- Choose the retailers you are willing to use. Keeping only relevant retailers reduces alerts for stores that cannot ship to you or sell the format you need.
- Enable email notifications for wishlist sale events. Confirm that the title appears in your wishlist and that the selected region and retailers are still correct.
Deku Deals can broaden monitoring beyond Nintendo’s eShop by showing supported retailer listings, including physical-game listings. Coverage is not identical for every country, retailer or edition, so an email means that a tracked listing met the service’s sale condition; it does not guarantee stock, the lowest possible price, or availability in your location.
Step 3: Set a price rule instead of reacting to every discount
A sale email tells you that a tracked offer changed. Price history helps you decide whether the change is worth acting on. Deku Deals provides detailed history charts and current retailer offers for Switch 2 games.

- Enter first-person mode to experience the action from inside the cockpit, and even use mouse controls to fly
- Invite a second player* to join you as a gunner using Nintendo Switch 2 mouse controls
Choose a threshold
- Prior-low rule: wait until the current listing reaches or approaches the lowest comparable price shown in the history chart.
- Percentage rule: buy at a discount you choose, such as 20% below the listed regular price. Treat that percentage as your own rule, not a Nintendo requirement.
- Deadline rule: if you need the game by a particular date, accept a reasonable discount earlier rather than waiting indefinitely for a record low.
Compare like with like. A physical cartridge, a digital copy, a Switch 2 Edition and an upgrade pack may appear as separate entries or have different prices. A low price for an upgrade pack is not the full purchase price if you do not already own the qualifying game.
Check the live listing before paying
- Open the current offer from the alert rather than relying on the amount in an old email.
- Confirm the exact title, Switch 2 designation, edition and format.
- Check the retailer, currency, stock status and delivery or redemption region.
- Read the sale end date on Nintendo’s listing or the retailer’s live page when one is shown.
- Only then continue to checkout. Prices, stock and deadlines can change after an email is sent.
Step 4: Confirm first-party promotions on Nintendo’s Sales and Deals page
Nintendo’s Sales and Deals page covers digital games, DLC and merchandise. It is the first-party check for an eShop promotion, even if you discovered the discount through another service. Nintendo advises checking back often for featured offers and game recommendations.

- Open the current Sales and Deals page for your Nintendo store region.
- Search for the title or browse the Switch 2-related offers.
- Confirm whether the price applies to the complete game, downloadable content, an upgrade pack or another item.
- Record the displayed end date if you need time to decide, then re-open the live page before purchase.
A third-party sale email and Nintendo’s page can disagree because they may represent different formats, regions, retailers or update times. Use Nintendo’s listing to confirm an eShop offer and Deku Deals’ retailer listing to confirm a physical or other supported-store offer.
Step 5: Prevent edition and format mistakes
Switch 2 Edition versus original Switch release
Search results can place similarly named products beside one another. Check that the title explicitly says Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch 2 Edition when that is what you intend to buy. Deku Deals lists Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition as a named Switch 2 catalog item, illustrating why the edition name matters.
Upgrade pack versus complete game
An upgrade pack may enhance an existing copy rather than include the base game. Before paying, establish whether you already own the qualifying version and whether the offer is for the pack alone. Do not compare an upgrade-pack price with a full-game price as though they were interchangeable.

Digital versus physical
Nintendo’s pages are the reference for digital pre-orders, pre-loading and eShop sales. Deku Deals can show retailer activity for physical games as well as digital offers where supported. Select the format you can use on your system and compare only equivalent products when applying a price threshold.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRegion and language
Use the store region that matches your account, payment method and intended retailer. A lower price in another currency may not be redeemable or shippable to you. Check the language information and any regional restrictions shown on the live listing before checkout.
Stock and sale deadline
A price-history low does not guarantee that a copy is currently in stock. An alert may arrive near the end of a promotion, and a retailer can sell out before the stated deadline. Verify both stock and the end date at the moment you buy.
A complete alert workflow for one game
Suppose you want Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.
- Find the title in Nintendo’s Coming Soon catalog, filter to Nintendo Switch 2, and record the release date and edition wording shown there.
- Press the heart icon to save it to your Nintendo Wish List. Use a personal calendar reminder if you need a release-day prompt.
- Search the exact Switch 2 Edition in Deku Deals, select your region and preferred retailers, add it to your wishlist and enable sale emails.
- Review the price-history chart and choose either a prior-low target or a percentage discount that fits your budget.
- When an email arrives, open the live retailer listing. Deku Deals may show retailer activity, including listings from Amazon, but the listing still needs a current check for edition, stock, region and price.
- If the offer is digital, confirm the same promotion on Nintendo’s Sales and Deals page and read the sale end date.
- Buy only after the live listing matches the exact Switch 2 Edition and format you intended.
How to decide which service to use
- Use Nintendo Coming Soon first when the question is “What is releasing, and when?” It is the authoritative source for upcoming Switch 2 titles, digital pre-orders and pre-loading information.
- Use Nintendo Sales and Deals when the question is “Is Nintendo’s digital store running this promotion?” It covers games, DLC and merchandise and shows the current offer period.
- Use Deku Deals when the question is “Can I receive an email when this game gets cheaper across supported stores?” It combines wishlist sale emails with retailer coverage and price history.
- Use both Nintendo and Deku Deals when you care about release timing and the eventual lowest practical price. The services complement one another rather than providing identical alerts.
Why price claims age quickly
Hardware and software pricing can change independently of an alert. Nintendo announced that the US Nintendo Switch 2 MSRP would rise from $449.99 to $499.99 effective September 1, 2026. The scheduled European revision was from €469.99 to €499.99 on the same date. In Japan, Nintendo’s Japanese-language system launch was June 5, 2025 at 49,980 yen including tax. These figures are tied to their stated markets and dates; they are not a permanent worldwide price baseline.

The same caution applies to game offers. A price copied from an email, screenshot or older article may no longer be current. Treat the live Nintendo or retailer page as the authority for the amount, currency, stock and deadline you will actually receive.
Troubleshooting common alert problems
You saved a game on Nintendo but received no release email
The Coming Soon documentation describes the heart icon as a way to add a game to your Wish List for later; it does not establish a universal release-notification guarantee. Check the displayed release date yourself or add a personal calendar reminder. For an email-based sale alert, add the title separately to Deku Deals and enable its email notifications.
Deku Deals sent an alert for the wrong product
Open the alert and compare the product name, Switch 2 designation, edition and format. Remove the mismatched item from your wishlist and add the exact listing. Also review your selected region and retailers so the alert reflects where you can buy.
The alert price is no longer available
Re-open the live offer and check stock, the sale end date and the retailer’s current price. Alerts are not reservations. If the promotion ended, use the history chart to decide whether to wait for another threshold event rather than treating the expired amount as current.

First determine whether you are comparing digital and physical products, a complete game and an upgrade pack, or different editions. Then check region and currency. Once the products are equivalent, use Nintendo’s page for the eShop offer and the retailer’s live listing for the physical or other store offer.
