Rockstar’s support page, “Adjusting settings within GTAV,” states: “The settings for GTAV can be changed within the Pause Menu when in Story Mode or Online.” The page was last updated April 20, 2024.
How do I turn subtitles on or off?

For speech that is missing altogether in GTA V Enhanced on PC, check the audio setup before treating it as a language problem:
- Confirm that the sound device selected for the game is supported.
- Check that its driver supports the device and is up to date.
- Make sure the speaker configuration in Windows matches the physical speakers connected to the computer.

- Find the GTA 5 installation folder. Rockstar lists

What should I check if dialogue is still quiet or missing?
First decide whether voices are merely hard to hear or are absent. Low volume calls for checking the controls actually available in your Audio settings; missing cutscene or other sound in GTA V Enhanced on PC also warrants checking the selected device, driver, and speaker configuration.
