Start with the model number: G7 SE, G7 Pro, and G7 Pro Wireless do not have the same connection options. G7 SE is a wired Xbox/Windows controller; the ordinary G7 Pro is wired on Xbox but can use USB-C or its 2.4 GHz receiver on PC; and G7 Pro Wireless adds receiver support for both Xbox and PC. None of those model specifications documents native PS5 support.
For PS5 games, use a PlayStation-listed DualSense rather than assuming a USB cable, Bluetooth, receiver or adapter will make a GameSir work. The steps below identify each edition, connect it to the platforms GameSir documents, install the matching configuration app, and recover from pairing, calibration and input problems.
Which GameSir controller model do you have?
Read the label on the controller or its box before connecting anything. Similar names conceal different wireless hardware, especially the ordinary G7 Pro and G7 Pro Wireless.

These are model-specific instructions from GameSir’s G7 SE manual and G7 Pro connection tutorial. Do not extend a G7 SE or G7 Pro Wireless step to another GameSir family without checking that controller’s manual.

Can I use a GameSir controller on PS5?
There is no documented native PS5 connection method for the G7 SE, G7 Pro or G7 Pro Wireless. Their listed modes cover Xbox, Windows PC and, in some G7 Pro material, Android; they do not list PS5. A cable, Bluetooth pairing attempt, USB receiver or third-party adapter should therefore be treated as an unverified experiment, not a supported setup.
PlayStation’s PS5 FAQ discusses licensed PS4 controllers with a standard gamepad form factor and states, “They are not supported for playing PS5 games.” The statement is not a model-by-model declaration about every GameSir product, but PlayStation does not provide a GameSir procedure in that FAQ. Read the original wording in the PlayStation PS5 FAQ before relying on an accessory workaround.
What is the documented PS5 alternative?
- Connect a DualSense to the PS5 with a USB cable.
- Press the PS button on the DualSense.
- Finish the on-screen user assignment and remove the cable if you want to continue wirelessly.
This is the documented pairing route for native PS5 play. It is separate from using a controller with a Windows game, where the game and operating system may accept a wider range of devices.

Does PS Remote Play make a GameSir compatible?
No. PlayStation’s Remote Play support page lists DUALSHOCK 4, DualSense and DualSense Edge for Windows and Mac. It does not list GameSir controllers, so a GameSir working in a PC game does not establish that it will be accepted by the PS Remote Play application.
For Remote Play, PlayStation gives a minimum internet connection of 5 Mbps and recommends at least 15 Mbps. Those figures describe the network requirement, not controller compatibility.
How do I connect a G7 SE to Xbox?
The G7 SE is a wired controller for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It does not have an Xbox wireless or Bluetooth pairing step.

GameSir specifies a 3 m detachable cable for this model, so the included cable is normally sufficient. If you use a replacement, it must carry data as well as power; a charge-only cable cannot provide controller input.

The ordinary G7 Pro uses a wired Xbox connection. GameSir’s tutorial describes this edition’s Xbox procedure as “Only supports wired connection.” Do not insert a receiver into an Xbox for this model.
- Connect a USB-C cable to the G7 Pro.
- Connect the cable to the Xbox console.
- Briefly press the Xbox button on the controller.
- Check for a solid indicator and test a menu button.
The same controller can use a cable or its supplied 2.4 GHz receiver on a Windows PC, but that PC option does not change its wired-only Xbox specification.
How do I connect a G7 Pro Wireless to Xbox?
G7 Pro Wireless supports either a USB-C cable or its own receiver on Xbox. Receiver operation requires the controller to be in 2.4G mode.
USB-C connection
- Connect USB-C to the controller and the Xbox console.
- Briefly press the Xbox button.
- Confirm the solid indicator and try the Xbox dashboard.
Receiver connection
- Insert the G7 Pro Wireless receiver into the Xbox.
- Switch the controller to 2.4G mode using the model’s mode control.
- Briefly press the Xbox button.
- Wait for the indicator to settle, then test directional and face buttons.
The receiver must belong to the G7 Pro Wireless edition. Similar-looking GameSir receivers are not interchangeable by assumption; verify the model before attempting firmware or pairing work.

Windows supports the documented USB path for all three models. Receiver use is available on PC for the ordinary G7 Pro and G7 Pro Wireless; the G7 SE remains wired.

G7 SE on Windows
- Connect the controller to the PC with USB-C.
- Briefly press Home.
- Open a game or Windows’ controller settings and confirm that button presses register.
Ordinary G7 Pro on Windows
- Choose either USB-C or the supplied 2.4 GHz receiver.
- For receiver use, insert the receiver into the PC and select the controller’s 2.4G mode.
- Briefly press the Xbox button.
- Wait for the indicator and test input before opening the game.
G7 Pro Wireless on Windows
- Connect by USB-C, or insert the G7 Pro Wireless receiver.
- Select 2.4G mode when using the receiver.
- Briefly press the Xbox button.
- Check input in Windows before changing game settings.
GameSir’s G7 Pro guides document Bluetooth use for Android, not as the primary Windows procedure. If Windows does not show the controller in its Bluetooth list, use the documented cable or receiver path instead of assuming the controller is defective.
Which GameSir app should I install?
Install software for the exact controller family before changing firmware or profiles. GameSir lists the G7 SE, G7 Pro and G7 HE under GameSir Nexus; other PC-focused products use GameSir Connect. The current download page is GameSir’s support downloads list.
- GameSir Nexus was listed as version 2.5.8, updated July 2, 2026.
- GameSir Connect was listed as version 1.14.5, updated July 6, 2026.
- Those are dated listings, not a guarantee that they remain the latest versions after the page changes.
- GameSir specifically warns against using Connect to update the original Nova Lite dongle. Check the current compatibility list before any firmware operation.
Connect the controller first, then launch the matching app. If the app cannot see the device, return to the model table and verify the cable, receiver and mode before reinstalling software.

How do I configure buttons, triggers and profiles in GameSir Nexus?
For the listed Xbox-licensed G7 models, Nexus provides model-specific remapping and adjustment controls. The G7 SE manual documents changes for button mapping, D-pad diagonals, sticks, triggers and vibration.
G7 SE hardware profile shortcuts
- M + Y: restore the default profile.
- M + B: select profile 1.
- M + A: select profile 2.
- M + X: select profile 3.
- Hold M + LT or RT for two seconds: enable the corresponding hair-trigger mode.
These shortcuts are specific to the G7 SE documentation. Do not assume that the same combinations apply to an unrelated GameSir controller.
G7 Pro features that are PC-only
The G7 Pro FAQ describes gyro mapping and 1000 Hz polling as PC features. They are not PS5 features, and enabling a PC polling option cannot add PS5 compatibility. If an Xbox connection shows an indicator but no input after a polling change, check that polling is not set to 1000 Hz and select a compatible setting for the console.

How do I calibrate a G7 SE?
Use the G7 SE’s documented PC calibration sequence when a stick or trigger does not rest correctly. Keep the controller still during the first step so the app records a neutral position.

- Leave both sticks and both triggers untouched, then press A.
- Move each trigger through its full range and rotate each stick three times.
- Press A again to complete calibration.
- Unplug the controller and reconnect it normally.
Calibration is different from a reset. A reset erases stored settings, so reserve the reset procedure for documented power or profile faults after checking the cable and app.
Why is my G7 Pro blinking or missing from Bluetooth?
A blinking controller is not proof that the wrong platform is supported. First identify the edition and the platform, then select the connection method that its manual specifies.
- On Xbox: the ordinary G7 Pro requires USB-C; G7 Pro Wireless can use USB-C or its receiver in 2.4G mode.
- On Windows: use USB-C or the correct receiver for the G7 Pro edition. Bluetooth is not the primary Windows procedure in the G7 guides.
- On Android: if you are using a documented Bluetooth mode on a G7 Pro model, press the pairing button to re-enter Bluetooth pairing mode, then search again.
- With a receiver: verify that it belongs to G7 Pro Wireless before using Xbox receiver steps. The ordinary G7 Pro’s receiver guidance is for PC.
- With no light: reseat the USB-C plug at both ends, connect directly to the console or PC rather than through a hub, and briefly press the Home/Xbox button.
Do not apply G7 SE calibration shortcuts or G7 Pro Wireless pairing instructions to another variant. The similar housings do not guarantee identical firmware, buttons or wireless hardware.

Firmware work is safest after the controller is recognized over its documented connection and the app matches the model. A failed update can leave a receiver or controller unavailable until recovery, so avoid experimenting with a different GameSir app.

How do I choose the right connection for my setup?
Use this decision path instead of treating every G7 label as the same controller:
- Playing native PS5 games? Choose a DualSense pairing path; the G7 models have no documented PS5 support.
- Playing on Xbox with a G7 SE? Use its detachable USB-C cable.
- Playing on Xbox with the ordinary G7 Pro? Use USB-C; its Xbox connection is wired.
- Playing on Xbox with G7 Pro Wireless? Use USB-C or that edition’s receiver in 2.4G mode.
