To set up a YouTube Premiere, upload a finished video in YouTube Studio, then either publish it as an instant Premiere or schedule it for a later date and time. You can follow the steps below while using YouTube in Hindi; the menu labels are shown in English because exact Hindi translations can vary by app or Studio version.
What a YouTube Premiere does
A Premiere turns a new uploaded video into a shared, scheduled viewing event. You upload the finished video first; this is not a live broadcast recorded as it happens. YouTube describes Premieres as a way for creators and viewers to “watch and experience a new video together in real time.” YouTube Help: Premiere a new video
Before you set it up
- Have the finished video ready to upload. YouTube does not support Shorts as Premieres.
- Check the video’s format and resolution: 360°/VR180 video and output above 1080p are unsupported for Premieres. YouTube Help
- If you need a future event, decide on its date and time. Scheduling is also useful when you want time to share the event page and invite viewers.
Set up a Premiere in YouTube Studio
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Create > Upload videos, then choose the video file.
- Fill in the video details, including its title, description, thumbnail, and audience settings.
- Choose how the Premiere should start:
- Start it as soon as it is ready: Select Save or publish > Public > Set as instant Premiere. The event begins after the video finishes processing, so allow time for processing before expecting viewers to watch.
- Schedule it for later: Select Schedule, enter the date and time, and check Set as Premiere. This creates a future event and gives you time to promote it.
- Optionally select Set up Premiere to choose the countdown theme and length.
- Select Done or Schedule to finish, as applicable to the workflow shown in Studio.
The labels above reflect YouTube’s English Studio instructions. If your interface is in Hindi, look for the equivalent visibility and scheduling choices; the exact Hindi labels were not verified for every Studio version.
Set a Premiere from the YouTube app
YouTube also allows Premiere setup during upload in the YouTube app. On the Set visibility page, choose Set as Premiere. The available labels or layout may differ by app version and language. YouTube Help

Choose instant or scheduled

Share the event and prepare chat
A scheduled Premiere creates a public watch page with a shareable URL before it begins. Viewers can visit, set a reminder, comment, or chat. YouTube recommends scheduling at least 24 hours ahead so viewers in different time zones have a chance to see the thumbnail in their subscriptions feed; that is advice, not a platform requirement. Share the watch page link in your posts, on social platforms, or in a pinned comment, and invite viewers to set a reminder. YouTube says reminders trigger a notification about 30 minutes before the event and another when it starts. YouTube Help: Premiere tips
If chat is enabled, prepare a few conversation prompts and consider moderation tools such as moderators, blocked words, or slow mode. YouTube also mentions third-party chat bots such as Nightbot as an option; using one is not required. During the Premiere, viewers watch together and may rewind, but cannot skip ahead to content that has not played yet. After the event, the video remains on your channel as a regular upload, and chat replay is available. YouTube Help

Countdown, trailer, and monetization options
- Countdown: You can choose a countdown theme and length during setup.
- Trailer: YouTube lists trailer eligibility as more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. This feature is not available to every channel. YouTube Help
- Ads: Eligible channels can serve pre-roll ads during a Premiere. Mid-roll and post-roll ads are not available during the event. After it ends, the upload’s default ad settings apply.
- Fan funding and memberships: Eligible creators can enable Super Chat and Super Stickers before or during the event. Eligible channel memberships may offer perks such as members-only chat. Availability depends on channel eligibility. YouTube Help
Troubleshoot common Premiere setup problems
- The Premiere option is missing: Check that you are setting visibility for a regular uploaded video, not a Short. If using the app, look on the Set visibility page; in Studio, choose a public or scheduled upload workflow.
- YouTube will not accept the video as a Premiere: Check that it is not a Short, 360°/VR180 video, or output above 1080p.
- An instant Premiere has not started: YouTube starts it after processing completes. Wait for processing rather than assuming the event can begin before the upload is ready.
- Viewers cannot find the event beforehand: Use the scheduled Premiere’s public watch page URL to share it. Scheduling well in advance is a recommendation to allow discovery and reminders, not a requirement.
- A trailer or monetization control is unavailable: These options depend on channel eligibility; the trailer feature has the stated subscriber and Community Guidelines conditions, and monetization options are for eligible channels.
