Restream can schedule a prerecorded YouTube event to start automatically, but its documented loop runs for at most 10 repetitions—not indefinitely. You can use Restream for a scheduled broadcast or a limited series of repeats; for an uninterrupted 24/7 stream, use a workflow that supplies continuous playback and test it before relying on it.
What Restream can—and cannot—do for a 24/7 stream
Restream’s Upload & Stream feature supports scheduled prerecorded events, including a video-loop option of up to 10 repetitions. Its help documentation does not establish that one scheduled event can repeat forever. That distinction matters: a video that airs on schedule and repeats a limited number of times is not the same as an always-on, continuous broadcast.
Restream also says a server may be restarted during continuous streaming longer than 24 hours and recommends restarting every 24 hours. Before you schedule the event
Enable YouTube live streaming
Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. Restream says first-time streaming requires phone verification and a 24-hour wait before you can go live. If live streaming has not been enabled yet, complete this step before choosing an event time; otherwise, your schedule may arrive before the channel is eligible.

Restream also says the connected account must own the YouTube channel. Confirm you are signed in to the correct Google account and that the intended channel is connected. See Restream’s YouTube setup guide and YouTube’s streaming tips.
Prepare the video and check account limits
Choose the recording you want to air and check Restream’s current storage and file-size limits for your account. Those limits depend on the account add-on tier, so verify them before preparing a long playlist or uploading a large file. Restream’s feature overview is at What is Upload & Stream?

Schedule a prerecorded YouTube event in Restream
- Start a new stream. In Restream, create a stream and choose Pre-recorded livestream, then select Video.
- Choose or upload the recording. Pick an existing upload or recording, or upload the video file you intend to broadcast.
- Enter the event details. Add the title, description, date and time. You can also add an event post or thumbnail.
- Set looping only if it suits the broadcast. Restream documents a loop of up to 10 repetitions. Do not treat that setting as an endless loop for a 24/7 channel.
- Select YouTube and create the event. Make sure YouTube is among the enabled destinations, then create the event. Restream says it will automatically air at the scheduled time. Its guide also describes monitoring the event and chat while it airs.
- Test the complete workflow. Confirm that the right channel, video, event details and start time are selected. If your goal is continuous broadcasting, test the planned playback and restart behavior; the scheduled-event instructions alone do not promise uninterrupted 24/7 playback.

If you use an encoder instead
Restream also supports connecting encoder software with RTMP details. Use the ingest URL and key for the destination you are configuring; Restream’s ingest details are not interchangeable with YouTube’s direct ingest credentials. YouTube calls its stream key “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Keep it private, and reset it if it is compromised. Restream’s listed encoder settings
Restream’s YouTube guide lists the following settings. Match them to the resolution and frame rate you choose, and check current requirements for the destination rather than applying one bitrate to every video.

YouTube recommends keeping upload bandwidth 20% above the total streaming bitrate and warns that network interruptions can break a stream. Plan for duration, archives and viewer rewind
Restream says it does not limit stream duration, but a server may be restarted during a continuous stream longer than 24 hours; it recommends restarting every 24 hours. This operational caveat is separate from YouTube’s archive and DVR behavior.
Restream’s help page says YouTube archives streams under 12 hours. YouTube separately warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. If DVR is disabled, viewers cannot seek backward while the stream is live. Do not promise viewers a complete archive or full rewind for an around-the-clock broadcast. Troubleshoot the common setup failures
- YouTube is missing or the event cannot go live: Confirm the connected Restream account owns the channel, live streaming is enabled, verification is complete and the channel has no live-streaming restriction in the past 90 days. If this is the first activation, account for Restream’s stated 24-hour wait after phone verification.
- The video stops repeating: Restream documents at most 10 repetitions for a scheduled video. Use a continuous-playback workflow for a true 24/7 schedule instead of expecting that event setting to loop forever.
- The stream stops after a long run: Restream says a server restart may occur after more than 24 hours of continuous streaming and recommends a restart every 24 hours. Schedule and test a restart or choose a service designed for continuous playback.
- The event starts but playback quality is unstable: Check the selected resolution and frame rate against the encoder bitrate, use CBR and the recommended keyframe interval, and verify upload bandwidth has YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom above total stream bitrate. A nominally sufficient connection can still be interrupted.
- The stream key does not work or may be exposed: Check that you are using the correct destination’s URL/key pair. If a YouTube key may have been compromised, reset it in YouTube’s live stream settings and update the encoder configuration.
- Viewers cannot rewind or find a full replay: For streams longer than 12 hours, YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable; Restream says YouTube archives streams under 12 hours. Set viewer expectations accordingly.
