You can connect BoxCast to YouTube and schedule a broadcast, but BoxCast’s published setup guides do not establish that one broadcast can loop continuously or run indefinitely. Use the steps below to configure the documented YouTube integration, then confirm your intended 24/7 operating plan with BoxCast before relying on it for uninterrupted availability.

Before you start: enable YouTube Live

Prepare the YouTube channel before configuring BoxCast. YouTube’s current general guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days. BoxCast says full activation after enabling live streaming can take 24 hours, so do this well before your planned broadcast. BoxCast’s YouTube integration guide links to YouTube’s live-stream setup.

  • Confirm live streaming is enabled on the intended YouTube channel.
  • If the broadcast will be embedded, confirm embed live streaming is enabled as well.
  • Allow time for activation before testing; a newly enabled channel may not be ready immediately.

Set up BoxCast’s native YouTube integration

1. Link the YouTube account

  1. In the BoxCast Dashboard, open Settings → Integrations.
  2. Add YouTube, select the Google/YouTube account for the channel you intend to use, and grant BoxCast the requested permission.
  3. If BoxCast says the requested YouTube account cannot be linked, remove BoxCast’s application permission from that Google account, then try linking it again.

2. Schedule a BoxCast broadcast

  1. Create a broadcast in BoxCast and choose the source or encoder that will provide the video.
  2. Enter the broadcast details and set its start and end times.
  3. Under Destinations, select YouTube, then choose the linked account and the intended visibility.
  4. For a test, BoxCast recommends choosing Private or Unlisted. Use the visibility appropriate to your audience when you publish the real event.

BoxCast’s native guide describes this account-linked workflow. Its getting-started documentation says that, except when using the Broadcaster app, a broadcast must be scheduled to go live. YouTube integration instructions · BoxCast getting-started guide

3. Test the YouTube destination

  1. Run a private or unlisted test broadcast before announcing the stream.
  2. From the broadcast’s YouTube Live tab, open the corresponding stream in YouTube Live Control Room and confirm that YouTube receives it.
  3. Add or check the thumbnail on the YouTube event itself. BoxCast says the thumbnail set on a scheduled BoxCast broadcast does not carry over to social destinations.

4. Set an end time deliberately

BoxCast’s scheduling material describes broadcasts with configured end times, including the option to extend an event by 30 minutes and to create recurring schedules. It says a recurring schedule can repeat up to 100 times; that is a schedule limit, not evidence that a stream runs continuously. Allow extra time at the end of a scheduled event if needed, and confirm with BoxCast how your particular 24/7 design should handle event boundaries, restarts, and any required recurring schedules.

ZowieBox, 4K HDMI NDI Video Encoder/Decoder, HDMI NDI
  • Compact but Powerful Design: ZowieBox is smaller than a phone, featuring a tally light and LCD screen for streaming status. Capture console gameplay in up to 4K with zero-lag HDMI passthrough, while the built-in video encoder converts video for IP streaming. The IP stream can also be decoded back to a 4K HDMI signal.
  • Standalone Game Streaming: Just plug and play—ZowieBox enables PC-free live gaming without affecting gameplay. As an RTMP hardware encoder and HDMI streamer, it delivers stable streaming directly from your source, making it ideal for gaming, live events, and professional broadcasting.
  • NDI|HX3 Converter Technology: ZowieBox converts HDMI signals to NDI|HX3/HX2/HX, functioning as an NDI video encoder, or NDI Video Decoder for flexible IP workflows. Certified NDI technology enables low-latency gameplay streaming through OBS/vMix. Note: Encoder and decoder modes cannot run simultaneously; full NDI signals are not supported.
  • UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
  • All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.

The published BoxCast materials reviewed describe scheduled broadcasts and simulated-live playback of a previous stream or uploaded video, but do not state that simulated-live playback loops indefinitely or that a single broadcast can remain live forever. Do not treat the native integration steps as a guarantee of perpetual operation.

Alternative setup: send BoxCast to YouTube with RTMP

BoxCast also documents an RTMP destination. This route involves more manual configuration and handling a YouTube stream key as a credential. In the documented repeated-use workflow, you still schedule a new YouTube stream for each event.

1. Create the YouTube event

  1. In YouTube Studio, schedule a live stream and choose the streaming-software option.
  2. Set the visibility you intend to use. Enable Auto-start and Auto-stop if those controls match your planned operation.
  3. Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key. Keep the key private; do not show it in screenshots or publish it.

2. Add an RTMP destination in BoxCast

  1. In the BoxCast Dashboard, open Settings → Integrations and create an RTMP destination.
  2. Enter the YouTube server URL and stream key.
  3. Do not use authentication, and leave Max Resolution set to None, as BoxCast’s RTMP instructions specify.
  4. When scheduling the BoxCast broadcast, select the RTMP destination.

BoxCast says the RTMP destination can be reused, but its instructions still call for scheduling the YouTube stream for each event. Check that the event and BoxCast broadcast are scheduled for compatible times before going live. BoxCast’s YouTube RTMP instructions

Choose and connect a video source

BoxCast identifies its Spark encoder and compatible third-party RTMP/SRT encoders as source options. Spark supports Ethernet or Wi-Fi; BoxCast recommends Ethernet for greater stability in a fixed installation. Wi-Fi is supported, so a wired connection is an operational choice rather than a stated requirement. Spark setup guidance

Plan for YouTube archive and DVR limits

A live feed staying viewable is not the same as YouTube preserving it as one complete recording. YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Its help guidance also says DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. These are separate archive and rewind caveats, not proof that the live feed itself stops at 12 hours. If preserving the full program matters, keep a local recording and do not promise viewers that a 24-hour stream will become one complete YouTube archive. YouTube Help: Archive live streams
