A computer-based setup can work, but its computer, power and internet connection must remain available; a 24/7 stream also should not be treated as a dependable YouTube archive.
Before you stream: clear the audio rights
Make a track list and identify the source recording for each item. Permission to listen to or upload a recording does not necessarily include permission to broadcast it continuously online. You may need rights for both the sound recording (the master) and the underlying musical composition, and permission should cover the relevant territory, platform, duration, archiving and monetization, as applicable.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. If it identifies material that remains in the feed, it may replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it or terminate it. Even when you have a licence, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist so YouTube recognizes the authorization.
India’s Copyright Office describes Section 52(1)(za) of the Copyright Act as covering certain performances or communications in the course of a bona fide religious ceremony. The Office’s page was last updated 16 July 2026, and its related public notice is dated 27 August 2019. This India-specific exception does not establish that every public, continuously available prerecorded internet stream qualifies. Other countries have their own rules; for example, UK government guidance says a licence is usually needed to play live or recorded music in public. For your circumstances, consult a qualified adviser or relevant rights organization in your jurisdiction rather than assuming a religious or venue licence covers an online broadcast.

Prepare a continuous audio playlist
Choose a playback source that can run an ordered playlist repeatedly. Add only cleared recordings, then listen through transitions, check that volume levels are reasonably consistent, and confirm what happens when the final item ends. These are practical production checks; YouTube’s encoder documentation does not endorse a particular playlist application.

Create the YouTube live stream and connect an encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. YouTube may require live streaming to be enabled for the channel.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into your encoder software on the computer that will send the feed. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel. Do not share it publicly.
- Configure the encoder to send the playlist’s audio. Start the encoder and wait for YouTube’s incoming preview.
- Check that the preview has sound, the correct stream and watch page are selected, and the playlist is playing as intended. When ready, start the public stream in Live Control Room.
- Keep the encoder and playback source running, and monitor the stream and connection. YouTube recommends setting up in advance, checking the preview and verifying viewers can reach the event.
The cited YouTube setup guidance explains the stream URL and key workflow but does not establish a minimum computer specification or a required bitrate for this audio stream. Follow the settings shown by your encoder and YouTube for the selected stream rather than relying on an unsupported universal setting.

Plan for interruptions and recordings
A local setup depends on the computer, playback software, power and network connection. YouTube recommends monitoring stream quality and testing backup-encoder failover. Before relying on the stream, rehearse how you will recover if the primary encoder stops or loses its network connection. A single computer and connection do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Keep an independent local recording if you need a reliable copy. YouTube Help says streams shorter than 12 hours may be automatically archived, while streams that exceed 12 hours may not be captured at all. Therefore, do not rely on one 24/7 broadcast as its own complete replay. If you want separate replays, consider shorter scheduled segments, but first test how your chosen playback and encoder workflow behaves when one segment ends and the next begins.

Troubleshoot common problems
- No incoming preview: Check that the encoder is using the stream URL and key for the correct scheduled event, that it is sending, and that the computer has an internet connection. If needed, refresh or replace the key in the encoder using the current values in Live Control Room.
- Preview has no audio: Confirm the playlist is playing, the intended audio source is selected in the encoder, and its input is not muted. Check the preview before starting the public stream.
- Stream is interrupted or replaced: Check YouTube’s live-stream notices for a third-party match. Verify that you have permission for both the recording and composition, and ask the rights holder whether your channel needs Content ID allowlisting.
- Encoder or network stops: Restore the playback source and connection, then restart the encoder using the active stream details. Test a backup encoder or recovery procedure before the event, as YouTube recommends failover testing.
- No complete replay appears: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured in YouTube’s archive. Use an independent local recording when a complete copy matters.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; your computer does not have to stay on at home. Each slot streams the uploaded quality as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly price is $9.99 per month. It is YouTube-only and plays uploaded video, not a live camera feed. As with any method, you are responsible for having the rights to the material you broadcast.
