Set the width and height request parameters to choose the viewport for an ApiFlash screenshot. For example, add width=1280 and height=720 for a 1280 × 720-pixel viewport. ApiFlash documents defaults of 1920 × 1080 pixels, so specify both dimensions when you need a particular size.
Set width and height in the request
ApiFlash accepts both GET and POST requests at https://api.apiflash.com/v1/urltoimage. Put width and height in the GET query string, or send them as form data in a POST request. The following GET URL illustrates the format; it has not been tested, and you must replace the access key and target URL:

Choose a fixed viewport or a full-page capture
The width and height parameters describe viewport dimensions in pixels. ApiFlash documents default dimensions of 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels high. To make your intended viewport explicit, send both parameters rather than relying on those defaults.

For a fixed-size viewport, leave full_page disabled. If you set full_page=true, ApiFlash ignores height; that setting is for capturing the whole page, not constraining its output to a fixed viewport height. The ApiFlash documentation describes this behavior.
Stay within the documented pixel limits
ApiFlash documents a range of 0 through 16,350 pixels for each dimension, with a maximum viewport area of 33,177,600 pixels. Both limits apply: satisfying the individual width and height limits does not guarantee that their product is within the area limit. For example, 16,350 × 16,350 exceeds the maximum area. Check that width × height ≤ 33177600 before sending the request.

Separate viewport size from render timing
If the screenshot has the right dimensions but the page content is missing or incomplete, investigate capture timing separately from viewport settings. ApiFlash documents wait_until with a default of network_idle, wait_for to wait for a CSS selector, and delay to add a short wait after page load. These options affect when the page is captured; they do not change width or height. Refer to the ApiFlash documentation for accepted values and parameter syntax.
Troubleshoot common viewport problems
- The screenshot uses an unexpected size: Check that both
widthandheightare included in the request and that their values are in pixels. Without explicit values, the documented defaults are 1920 × 1080. - The requested height does not constrain the capture: Check whether
full_page=trueis set. ApiFlash ignoresheightin full-page mode. - The request fails with large dimensions: Verify each dimension is no greater than 16,350 and that their product is no greater than 33,177,600 pixels.
- The target page does not load as expected: Confirm the target URL includes its protocol and that the access key is valid. Encode parameter values when required.
- The screenshot has the right viewport but content is not ready: Adjust a documented render-wait option such as
wait_forordelay; changing the viewport dimensions will not fix a timing issue.
