For example, driver.set_window_size(1024, 768) requests a 1024-by-768-pixel browser window. Django does not use a different sizing API; call the method on the WebDriver instance that your test or automation code owns.
Set Firefox window dimensions
Call set_window_size() after constructing the Firefox WebDriver and before opening the page or checking its layout. The dimensions are pixel values. Selenium documents this method in its Firefox Python WebDriver API.

driver.quit()get_window_size() returns a dictionary containing the current width and height, which is useful when confirming the dimensions Selenium reports after the resize.
Use it in a Django project
The sizing call belongs wherever your project creates and manages the Firefox WebDriver session—for example, in a test setup method or browser automation routine. Django does not provide a separate Firefox resizing method. Make sure the driver exists before calling set_window_size(), and close the session when the test or task finishes.

Choose dimensions that match the rendering scenario you want to test. Selenium notes that screen resolution can affect how a web application renders; a single fixed size is not universally correct. See Selenium’s guide to working with windows and tabs.
Choose the right window method

The Firefox API also documents set_window_rect() and the dimension getters. Selenium’s shared Remote WebDriver implementation delegates size changes through the window-rectangle operation; for dimensions alone, the shorter set_window_size() call is clearer. The shared implementation is documented in the Remote WebDriver source documentation.

Set both position and size
driver.set_window_rect(x=0, y=0, width=1024, height=768)

Use set_window_position(x, y) when you only need to move the window, or maximize_window() when the test should use the operating system’s available screen area rather than explicit dimensions.
Troubleshoot unexpected dimensions
- The call fails because the driver is unavailable: create the Firefox WebDriver before calling a window method, and ensure the session has not already been closed.
- The measured size differs from the requested size: inspect
driver.get_window_size()ordriver.get_window_rect()after the call. Window behavior can depend on the browser and operating system; use the reported dimensions when diagnosing the environment. - The page still renders differently from the target: verify that the chosen window size reflects the test’s intended display conditions. Maximize is not a substitute for a fixed test size because it depends on available screen space.
